.- The Celestial Amulet ~ ARC I -.
Chapter I
"Thus the day be 27th of the month of June in the year X777. Worry ripened from the celestial spirit king as he stroked his long mustache in ponder. A fear that something sinister was going to happen over the course of the next few weeks. A thought struck his mind. It could work. Combining a holder and castor like magic. He closed his eyes knowing exactly what he needed to do and who he needed to talk to. It was a last resort."
X794
She ran her fingers across the shelf as her eyes scanned the spine of each and every book carefully, dust building up under her finger tips. She scrunched her face up as she wiped them on her pants, a sigh released from her lips as she turned around planting her hands on her hips in thought. The house was small and quaint and abandoned. She was hoping to find something interesting and useful, but so far she was turning up empty handed.
Her team were there on a mission to catch some rogue mages that have been wreaking havoc in the area and destroying properties out of boredom. They had been there for three uneventful days now, still no sign of a rogue mage. Being ready to go home was an understatement as they had just returned from a job just to go on another one. She just wanted to sleep in her bed, under her covers for the next five days. She was so exhausted, especially with having a hard time sleeping and staying asleep. There was just so much going through her mind that it never knew when to shut off. Sometimes, night mares were the blame for some of the sleepless nights when she could successfully fall asleep.
She shook her head of the thoughts and turned back towards the book shelf squatting down, her brown eyes scanning a lower shelf. Her fingers grazed each book lightly when she noticed something sticking out from a rather peculiar looking book.
"Humm." She mumbled carefully pulling the book out when something heavy and made of some type of metal material fell from the book clinking as it hit the floor. "What's this?" She cautiously leaned down as she grasped it into her hand. She examined the jewelry carefully, turning it back and forth in the palm of her hand with mesmerized awe. The metal was a dark smokey color designed like a tribal, warm to the touch with two different types of topaz's in the middle. She recognized the smaller topaz to be called mystic and it was said to be the zodiac stone representing Aquarius and Cancer as well as Pisces. A smile stole her lips quite excited on her find even though it had no relevance to the job at hand.
"Princess." A voice said sharply as a flash of light illuminated the darkened hut as Loke pulled his shades off. Lucy jumped as she turned her head to glance over her shoulder. "Where did you find that?" The book fell from her lap as she stood up, still grasping the piece of jewelry in her hand. She was a little surprised by his sudden appearance and yet, she wasn't considering he could come and go as he pleased. She noticed the weary look on his face. He looked tired, his hazel eyes lowered as his attention was solely on the precious amulet in her hand.
"I found it in a book as I was searching for something interesting." She commented glancing down at it. "Do you know what it is?" She was curious and she wasn't dumb. From the way that the leader of the zodiacs was acting she knew it was of some importance. The orange hair lion spirit out stretched his hand towards Lucy, palm up as he signaled for it. She shrugged placing it in his hand as she sighed once again saddened that her find was confiscated. Loke clutched the amulet with uncertainty. As soon as he felt the presence of the magic literally bleeding from it, he didn't stop to even think. He just needed to get it from the grasp of his master. He knew the amulet wouldn't exactly cause the celestial mage harm, but it was nothing to announce being in possession of.
"Do you mind if I take this back with me? I promise as long as it's allowed I'll return it to you. But for now, I can't really tell you anything until I'm given permission." He explained as he jingled it his palm. "Let's say this ..it doesn't quite belong in this realm." Lucy blinked confused but in the end nodded. He promised which meant she could take his word for the matter. Promises are a big deal for celestial wizards and spirits afterall. Besides, she had all her trust in her loyal spirit.
"Take it." She mumbled looking around as her eyes struggled to adjust to the darkness. Loke chuckled as his fist glowed with white light after realizing her struggle. She smiled at his thoughtful gesture as she gave the hut a last once over. She heard her name being yelled from outside the building, a hint of worry in the tones. She knew that the nimwit would eventually come searching for her. He always does.
"We better get going Princess before Natsu gets impatient. You know how he can be." He groaned at the thought of Natsu being reckless and dumb as he held his hand out. He watched as she rolled her dark brown eyes knowing how true his statement was.
"You don't have to remind me of how destructive that dragon slayer is. Trust me. He has cost me so many cash rewards that I'm surprised I haven't curled up into a ball and cry like a baby." She grumbled accepting his hand as they filed out the door. She turned around from closing the door as a blue ball of fur smacked her straight into the chest knocking causing her to release Loke's hand as she was knocked off her feet, hitting the ground onto her ass.
"LUUUCCCY!" Happy cried shaking his face into her chest. She blinked registering what had happened as her hand finally petted the top of Happy's head. "We've been looking for you for like ever. Natsu was getting worried." And with his name being mentioned the fire dragon slayer appeared in front of Lucy squatting down without any warning. She squeaked in surprise as Natsu studied her.
"Natsu." Loke acknowledged as he shoved the amulet into his pocket knowing that the dragon slayer could sense it. Natsu glanced at the spirit suspiciously as he felt the magic from whatever he was hiding when he spoke his name. His eyes turned back to the blonde who remained quiet looking down. She was his focus at the moment. He would question Loke later. He was afraid that they had lost her and he would be lying if he said wasn't starting to panic. He had been searching for what seemed hours when really it had only been twenty minutes but it was twenty minutes that he had thought he lost Lucy. He knew she could handle herself, more than he liked because he had an odd sense of still wanting to protect her. Like the old days.
He shook his head light as his eyes connected with hers. "Luce, you okay?" He asked quietly as he lightly grasped and lifted her face with a finger under her chin. Her brown eyes were tired and went noticed making Natsu feel guilty for making her go on jobs back to back like they have been. He didn't think much of it. He only thought about her and her rent, making sure she would be okay financially since she was the only one on their team that had to struggle with that kind of finance. But he also couldn't sit still for very long. After everything that has happened to them over the years, he drowned them with odd and ends jobs. Almost to the point that Lucy almost gave up her apartment but everyone was quick to talk her out of that thank Mavis.
The guilt ate at him from within. He silently made himself a promise to let them relax for about two weeks without bringing up a job. He owed everyone that. No one complained or fought him for the back to back jobs as everyone was trying to mend and mold back to theirselves in their own ways. All the jobs occupied their wandering thoughts.
Lucy wrapped her fingers around Natsu's wrist as she stared back at him with soft eyes, warmth in her chest. "I'm fine you idiot. Just tired since someone can't handle being home for less than twenty four hours." She teased with a smile. Natsu wasn't amused as he lowered his eyes at her although he absolutely loved her smile. Hands down one of the best perks he looks forward to everyday. But right at this moment, his mouth started moving before he could stop himself, wanting to slap himself incredibly hard.
"You complain a lot. You talk a lot period." He commented standing up crossing his arms realizing that he had spoken out loud and not inside of his head. Loke rolled his eyes knowing full well that the slayer was right, but this was an argument that the lion spirit did not want to be a part of. He knew that instant that Natsu had fucked up for he felt the rage building up inside Lucy's emotions.
"Well, you two have fun. Princess, I will be back with more information." He winked at her before disappearing into the light leaving Natsu slightly confused taking his focus off the celestial mage for the moment. He was still weary on what Loke had shoved into his pocket, however, Lucy didn't seem too concerned about it which made him relax some. Her spirits wouldn't hide something like that from their master, especially when their master is none other than Lucy. And he knew Loke wouldn't put Lucy in that kind of position either. A shiver ran up his spine giving him a chill.
"So, I complain a lot?" She asked through clenched teeth as she stood up curling her fingers into fists at her sides. Natsu slowly turned back towards Lucy as Happy flew away from his perch on her shoulder, soon hiding behind Natsu's head as Scary Lucy was making her debut. Natsu backed away chuckling nervously under Lucy's glare, a glare so sinister and evil that it made him cower. He often tended to bring this part of Lucy out from boredom but today he straight fucked up. His mouth betrayed him. It was true- Lucy always talked and complained, but that was what made Lucy, well Lucy. If she didn't raise her voice, yell at them, complain on missions, or just ramble on with that smile of hers, then the world would be dull.
Unaware, three more bodies walked up and stood off the side as they watched the scene unfold in front of them amused. The creak of armor as arms folded in front of their chest caught Natsu's attention causing his guard to drop momentarily once again as a foot smashed into his gut sending him flying towards the ground. He landed on his back as the wind got knocked out of him. He wasn't expecting her to get in a hit, more so a knock-out kick like hers, but she did boy did it hurt him like a bitch. His arms instantly wrapped around his lower abdomen as he rolled side to side trying to ease the pain.
"Tell me I complain again you moron. See if I ever do anything for you again!" Lucy huffed as she turned to see the rest of her team trying to stifle giggles. Failing, Gray released a hearty laugh, his head tilted back at the pitiful dragon slayer who was lying on the ground groaning. Wendy had to cover her face to try and muffle her giggles as her cheeks started to flush red.
"You think he'll be alright?" Wendy whispered through her hands after the giggles subsided. She never experienced a deadly Lucy kick but she had heard some horror stories about them from several guild mates. And it was not something she ever wanted to experience. She was okay not ever knowing. Normally Lucy only kicked Natsu, but sometimes others made the cut.
"I'd say whatever he said or did he probably deserved it." Gray responded back grinning. Lucy mumbled to herself angrily as she walked up to them, taking the empty space on the side of Gray with an exaggerated huff.
"You'd think one of these days he would eventually learn." Erza commented leaning towards the other two mages as Natsu slowly sat up still groaning and making a comment about how he was going to puke. "But I'm sure you're correct. Whatever he did he probably did deserve it." She flipped a chunk of scarlet hair behind her shoulder as a smile reflected in her eyes with amusement.
"He's a real idiot." Lucy grumbled crossing her arms over her chest. Normally she would have been wearing something provocative, but over the years she started to inherit a more modest look. She took to wearing stretchy capris or jeans. She still however wore tank tops but she also started wearing t shirts more so than usual. She also ditched her trademark pig tails for either wearing her hair loosely that went down to her waist or half up in a bun. "Told me I complain too much." Wendy did a sharp intake of breath, coming out sounding like a gasp, not meaning to as Gray bit his lip turning away while Erza froze and held a straight face avoiding eye contact if all possible.
Lucy eyed each individual with an arched eyebrow until it dawned on her. Her eyes widened with betrayal. "You all think it." She gasped. She wouldn't be lying if she said her feelings were hurt because they definitely were. She knew sometimes she could have sudden outbursts or that she freaked out a lot but she never realized she complained a lot. Hearing that upset her and now she wanted to be alone. She was definitely ready to go home. Away from doing any jobs and away from them. She just needed some time to herself if she wanted to be honest, already immune to being alone since she was left behind for a year.
"Luce, it came out wrong. I wasn't thinking. I'm sorry!" Natsu said now standing again without dropping back to mother earth. He rubbed the spot on his stomach where she had kicked him grimacing. She had one hell of a knockout kick, he would give her that. He realized he had royally fucked up not meaning to announce that she complained a lot. It was more or less saying she was annoying and Lucy was anything but annoying to him. Lucy was everything anybody would want in a friend and he cherished that. He had never been as happy as he was now since Lucy had joined the guild. Meeting her back in Hargeon made him smile.
She stared at the wavering Male before narrowing her eyes. "Whatever." She said as she stormed passed him and leaving the rest of the team speechless and knocking Natsu out of his memory day dream. He watched as Lucy stomped away as a light appeared next to her ankles and Plue appeared to be her companion for the walk. She was definitely upset he realized when Plue is who she confided in to vent. He knew all too well and he overheard her one night. That she doesn't know about and she won't because if she did, she would be the one burying him six feet into the ground.
"Way to go pyro." Gray said. "Real smooth." His hands were in the pockets of his jacket as he glared at Natsu. Natsu ignored raven head for he wasn't really in the mood. Natsu would be all over insulting the ice mage and stirring up trouble, but today, he just wanted Lucy to accept his apology. She was good with giving someone a second chance or seeing past the failure facade and turning a trouble maker into a grade A hero.
She ignored the piercing daggers glued to her back. If she had to take one guess on who it could be she would say Natsu but there was no sense. She wanted to be by herself, alone. He didn't like it one bit, but at least she knew how to defend herself.
"Watch it popsicle. If I remember right, you were the ones who didn't back yourselves up and made her believe that it was true." Natsu shot back as he eyed the direction Lucy left in. He walked towards the same direction as the others started slowly trailing behind him with guilt.
She bit the inside of her cheek as she dragged her feet on the ground. She never realized that she complained that much. She knew she bitched, a lot, but she never thought it was to the extent of being annoying. Plue walked beside her shaking happily as he was excited to keep his master company. She knew the others were following somewhere behind her.
"Do you think I overreacted Plue?" Lucy asked that dull ache in her heart knowing she did. She sighed when he agreed in his language. "Well I guess I owe him an apology." Plue responded again with encouragement. She smiled down at her spirit with a full heart. She however didn't sense the mage that hid behind the tree. The mage jumped out from behind the tree grabbing her from behind slamming her to the ground twisting her arm up her back. Her keys jiggling to under her belly so she couldn't reach them. She could turn into a star dress but she could tell the mage pinning her down didn't have strong magic, but from what she's experiencing he definitely made up for it in the physical department.
"Gotcha'." A voice chuckled in her ear, his breath licking her neck. She took a sharp intake of breath as she struggled against the mans hold to see what her leverage was. She wanted to try and bait him as long as she could until the others arrived. She knew he was one of the mages they've been searching for and she's not about to be the one who let him get a way.
"Let me go." She growled. "You'll regret not." The grip only got tighter making her cry out in pain. How did she not sense his magic though? Was she losing her touch? She felt like a fool for getting caught. She swung her foot as hard as she could nailing the man in his back at least putting some effort into the pitiful man. Plue was on the side of the mage pinning her down hitting his leg. She heard him grunt and stumble to his knees for he was knocked off balance, not expecting her to retaliate.
"You'll pay for that." He hissed steadying himself as he was now straddling her back. Suddenly the weight was lifted off of her as she was quickly scooped up and in the arms of no other than a growling, pissed off Natsu as Erza had a sword pointed at the man's jugular vein.
"You okay Luce?" Natsu asked as he glanced down at her through a clench haw. Wendy appeared next to him. "Did he hurt you?"
"He twisted my arm but other than that, no he didn't hurt me. I assessed him. He's weak magically but physically he's rather...strong." She said as she motioned to be let down. She rotated her arm wincing, but other than it being sore from the position it was shoved in, she was fine.
"So, that makes one out of three mages captured." Gray stated creating a cage trapping the mage in it. He had already stripped his cloak and vest and was in the process of stripping his maroon t-shirt.
"Where are your partners? What guild are you from?" Erza demanded crossing her arms. Lucy walked up to stand in front of the cage to get a good look at her attacker. He wasn't much to look at. He was bald and had a goatee. He wore a red cloak with a hood and black pants. She already knew he had a rather chiseled build but other than that, that was about all she could see with how dark it was. The man ignored Erza as he turned away. Lucy watched his reactions before she realized something. Most people wore their guild Mark's visible and those that are hidden under clothing, the clothing ninety-nine percent of the time got stripped. He could be holding back what guild he was from, but non-guild mages are possible as well. She knew from experience. She was one for the first year she her home in search of a guild then the year Fairy Tail disbanded. Although she never considered Fairy Tail truly disbanded.
"You're not part of a guild are you?" She asked catching everyone's attention. The man looked at her with a stunned look for figuring it out, but remained silent. Lucy felt warmth to the right of her as Natsu stood next to her protectively.
"Does that matter?" The guy asked crossing his arms and turning his back to them. "It doesn't make a difference." Natsu lifted his nose up, sniffing the air. His eyes glanced towards the trees to the left of them. A grin crossed his lips as he charged for the woods suddenly his arm cocked back as he punched the mage in hiding in the face. The poor guy didn't even a chance to react.
"Natsu!" Lucy yelped from his sudden attack. Natsu tossed the guy in front of them as Gray cast another cage around the mage that was knocked out unconscious. "Don't you think that was a little overboard?"
"Nah." He clasped his hands behind his head. "So want to tell us where the other one is or do I need to sniff them out?" Natsu asked as he received a weird look from the captured mage. He eyed Lucy with a questionable look as she shrugged. He remembered Lucy screeching about sniffing her out due to her scent when Zash Caine had kidnapped her was incredibly creepy. Was it really that strange? He didn't believe so but then again, the sniffing came naturally because his hearing and smell is so heightened, it's hard to look the other way.
"If you don't want your friend to end up like him," Lucy said pointing at the other mage with a roll of her eyes. "Then I would just tell him." Wendy stood next to the cage of the man as she examined him to make sure Natsu didn't hurt him more than necessary. Natsu sometimes tended to go overboard.
"Trust me, we aren't messing around." Gray said as his marks appeared on his now naked chest and arm as his shirt landed next to his feet. "Want to tell us why you guys are terrorizing innocent people and destroying their properties?" The scare tactic. One that was cliche but if they played their cards right they could get the answers they needed.
"Who the hell are you guys?" he asked finally answering as he ignored the question with a question.
"Answer our question first." Erza demanded as she pointed her sword at the man again. Happy's ears twitched as he heard a small, quiet rustle. He nudged Natsu with a snicker as Natsu sniffed the air. He high-fived Happy.
"I guess I got my answer." Natsu smiled as his body was surrounded by fire, illuminating the entire area. The fire licked off his skin, a mixture of red, orange and yellow kissing the air. Lucy jumped away trying not to get burned, but widened her eyes when all his flames did was tickle her, sending a warm sensation up her arms.
"Hey watch what you're doing Natsu!" She squealed but somewhat amused. Regardless if his flames didn't technically burn her. Normally her clothes burned off to where she had to summon Virgo to get her new ones, but these flames were different. They didn't burn her to the touch or burn her clothes.
Natsu pounded his fists together. "Sorry Luce!" He yelled over his shoulder as he jumped into the trees to the right of them. There was a muffled high pitched scream and then a groan as Natsu walked back towards the group dragging the last remaining mage behind him on the ground, accidentally bouncing his head off a tree as he passed it. Lucy bit her lip feeling slightly sorry for the poor guy, only slightly however.
"He's gonna have a headache when he wakes up." Gray chuckled. Erza stepped a side with a lacrima cell pressed to her ear as she called the magic council.
"Geez Natsu." Lucy watched as Gray created one last cage around the unconscious mage. Happy fly around them before making a perch on top of Natsu's shoulder.
Lucy sighed as she stepped out of the shower back at the small inn they were staying in. The shower for the most part relaxed her but it didn't help with the exhaustion and heaviness her body felt. And sleeping in was not an option for they had to be at the train station at six the following morning. She wrapped her long blonde hair into a towel then dressing herself in shorts and a tank top. It was already late, her eyes heavy but she knew she couldn't fall asleep just yet.
She quietly walked out, closing the door slowly behind her. Erza and Wendy both were already asleep on the beds with Carla tucked in the crook of Wendy's arms. She unwrapped the towel as she combed her fingers through her blonde mane before debating what she wanted to do.
She tiptoed to the door that led outside, grabbing her keys while slipping out quietly. The night sky was clear with the stars gleaming down brightly along with a full moon. She stepped carefully- for she was barefoot- to sit in front of the small pond that adored next to the inn. She sat down on the grass pulling her knees up to her chest while wrapping her arms around them as she peered up, keys dangling against her bare thigh.
"I'm not sure how much longer I can hold out before I just crash." She mumbled to no one as her eyes were still glued to the stars. She smiled slightly as she started connecting the stars into constellations. A key warmed against her thigh startling her. She bit her lip as she held her keys in front of her eyes widening to whoms key before a light appeared before her in the water of the pond.
"What are you doing brat?" Aquarius asked crossing her arms. "Are we really going to do this again?" Her voice was harsh but Lucy knew the water bearer was concerned. All her spirits were. No one could figure out why she couldn't sleep, why she was always exhausted. They thought it was her magic- unfortunately not the issue. They thought maybe the nightmares were the culprit but she didn't always have the nightmares.
As far as she knew, her spirits were the only ones who knew. So far for now, the others hadn't caught on and if they did, they weren't asking questions. But she knew if they figured it out, they would be all over her fretting and she didn't want that.
"I don't know what to do…" she mumbled bowing her head. "I try Aquarius. I've even tried to cry myself to sleep." There was a tsk from the celestial spirit as she appeared in front of Lucy.
"I'm surprised the pyro brat hasn't caught on. You look like crap." Lucy opened her mouth to say something but ended up only glaring at her. "Look, I'll do this one last time but you better figure it out." Aquarius sighed as she leaned down pulling the celestial mage into her arms.
"When the light goes out and the night rolls in the stars all but dance about in wonder of their maiden she walks the sky with a smile on her face her hand outstretched for a friend twinkling, dazzling stars forever your friends so close your eyes my sweet angel and let them whisk you away into the night."
Lucy closed her eyes as Aquarius's voice turned into a hum. Her body relaxed against the spirit as she felt her mind going into a comatose state.
Aquarius became quiet as she stared down at the blonde in her arms. She was an identical replica of her mother Layla whom Aquarius missed more than anything. That day Layla had passed was one of the roughest times for the celestial world and the zodiac spirits. Then to find out that Layla had passed her key down to her brat. The very brat she was cradling.
She would admit Lucy was strong surpassing her mother Layla and even coming close to mirroring Anna Heartfilia, but with two of the zodiacs under contract with a different celestial mage it put her at a disadvantage. But even so, she wasn't a force to be reckoned with. Even if she didn't tell the girl enough, Lucy was strong.
"Did I hear singing?" A tired raspy voice asked causing Aquarius to throw a look over her shoulder as a pink headed dragon slayer stood a few feet away rubbing his eyes. He stopped, blinked a few times then giving Aquarius a confused look. "Aquarius? What are you doing out here?" Aquarius hissed at him to be quiet as she turned to show him Lucy. Her head was leaning to the side, her chin pressed to her chest as her arm dangled with the other one draped across her stomach clutching her keys.
"Here, a present." Aquarius scowled as she gently handed over the sleeping celestial mage into a startled Natsu's arms. "You wake her up you'll be sorry boy." With that Aquarius disappeared back to the celestial world without any explanation.
Natsu stared at Lucy pinching his lips confused on what he should do. He definitely did not want to wake her up due to Aquarius's threat. He certainly didn't want to risk sneaking into the girl's room which only left one other option; his room. He was in a deep sleep, almost like he was in a coma. His dream however wasn't all that pleasant. He was trying to chase after Igneel but the distance would never close.
But then he heard the voice.
Slowly all the running, chasing, the fear that was bundled up in his chest disappeared. The sweet voice lulled him awake. He blinked slowly not wanting to get up but he did anyways. And that's where he's at now. Currently carrying Lucy bridal style.
He groaned not prepared for the morning and the situation he got himself into. His eyes glanced back down at her face, tracing her features. How did he not notice before? The dark bruising under her eyes. He knew she had been looking tired more often but he didn't think it was anything major, but looking closely, she was just a closed book waiting to be opened. Besides that, he did notice how beautiful she was and how peaceful she looked in her sleep.
His grip tightened on her as she snuggled her face into his chest letting out a satisfying sigh in her sleep. He rolled his eyes but smiled giddily as he carefully headed back towards his shared room with Gray.
"Well, you're worth it for my death in the morning, you know Luce?" He whispered. He could picture it now. Lucy giving him her famous Lucy kick, Erza pointing a sword at his throat, Gray decking him and Wendy? He wasn't sure about her. Then there would be teasing from Happy.
He managed to open the door and close it behind him without waking a snoring ice mage as he gently placed Lucy onto his bed, carefully prying her hands away from her keys and placing them on them on the side table. Glancing around he could either take the floor or take the bed with Lucy.
The answer was easy.
He giggled mentally as he kicked his shoes off and snuggled back into the bed, careful not to jostle Lucy or Happy who found himself snuggling into Lucy's hair. His body completely relaxed knowing the blonde was lying next to him.
Just like old times.
Sneak peak of chapter II
"What the hell..Lucy?" Gray asked with an arched eyebrow as reality slapped him in the face. Finding Lucy in his room was a good morning perk, but unexpected. "Not that I mind or anything but why are you in our room?"
Lucy crossed her arms in front of her chest. "I'm wondering the same thing." She said upset as they both turned towards the general area Natsu fell off the bed. Lucy wanted to know why exactly she was in his room, his bed instead of her shared room with Erza and Wendy.
There was a muffled 'sigin woke mew up' as Natsu sat up on the floor yawning loudly before repeating what he said when he noticed the baffled looks on their faces. "Singing woke me up. Sensitive hearing.." He tapped his ear. "I went outside to see who it was and that's when I saw Aquarius holding you. Then the next thing I knew you were in my arms and your spirit started threatening me about if I woke you up before she disappeared on me. She's a scary woman..mermaid..spirit thing." He scratched his head.
Lucy pinched the bridge of her nose while releasing a slow sigh. "I see." She mumbled looking at anything but Natsu. "So you had to bring me to your room?" Her hand balled into a fist. "And sleep in bed with me?" There was a chuckle behind her as Gray shook his head. The behavior between the blonde and dragon slayer was very common and one day, Gray deciding he would make happen, the two would date- officially.
"Well yeah. You think I wanted to risk waking the monster?" He asked wide eyed. There was a laugh behind him as Gray popped his knuckles.
"Come on man. Do you really think Erza wouldn't figure it out when she wakes up and sees Lucy gone?" Gray asked. He stood up stretching, his pants hanging low on his hips as he made his way to the bathroom.
