A/N: Updated Chapter #2.

This story is cheesy by nature, so in keeping with the spirit of the original version, I'm leaving all the happy-crappy fluff in there. Enjoy!

Beginnings: Part 2

He hoped she wouldn't see through his goofy love-struck grin as he turned to face the girl that made his heart stop anytime he heard her voice.

"Yeah, Raven?"

She held a big box in her arms, and plopped it on the ground with a loud thud. A cloud of dust rose into the air, and Beast Boy coughed as he tried to wave it away. Her blue cape draped over her slender shoulders, and its hood obscured her stoic face with a dark shadow.

"I need a favor."

"Um, sure. What do you need?"

She motioned toward the large box,

"Could you take this to the dumpster? I'm in the middle of cleaning my room out, and this is some junk I want to get rid of."

Gar arched an eyebrow as he eyed the box curiously,

"What's in there?"

Raven shrugged, "Just a bunch of useless old spell books."

"Useless? What do they do?"

She rolled her eyes and replied with a bored expression,

"Nothing. That's why they're useless."

He simply blinked blankly, and the girl sighed.

"It's a bunch of stupid magic trick stuff. Like slight of hand, time travel, hypnotism, object teleportation, etc."

"Hmm," he paused, staring out into space.

"Beast boy?"

"Oh! Yeah, stupid magic trick stuff." he agreed with a smile that was meant to be encouraging.

Time travel? Maybe this is a sign…

Thankfully, she didn't call his bluff. Either she didn't notice, or she didn't care.

"Thanks, I owe you one."

With that she returned to her room without a backward glance. He couldn't help staring after her long after the door whooshed shut.

Wow. She's amazing…

He shook his head to clear it.

You're crazy, Beast boy. She'd never fall for an idiot like you.

He scolded himself thoroughly before he suddenly remembered about the box that he held in his arms. He hurriedly rushed it to his room, a gleeful glint in his eye.

He had been sitting in his room for five solid hours searching through the dusty books for the one that could possibly hold the key to his dream of being a normal teen.

Finally, he got to the bottom of the enormous pile. The last book in the box was titled, Do Over. Simple enough title, he supposed.

That has to be it.

He snatched the book up out of the box, sending a new cloud of dust flying into the air. He opened it to the first page and began reading with enthusiasm that he hadn't felt all day.

Meanwhile…

Raven sat in her room reviewing her day at school, starting with getting up in the morning and running through every detail of her day up until this very moment.

She didn't have any classes with Gar; sadly none of the other Titans had any classes with him. Or each other for that matter.

That's probably the doing of the government, she scoffed. Wouldn't want us to be too comfy.

She actually felt bad for him…deep down. He had to start school all on his own, and looking the most peculiar of them all.

On top of that, all she'd heard about in the halls all day was the 'green kid'. Or for those who actually read the newspapers, instead of just turning them into paper airplanes, 'Beast boy'.

Most were either frightened of him, or called him a freak.

They shouldn't be so cruel.

She shook her head in disapproval.

He's been here for a whole two years now, for goodness sake.

She sighed as she put her books back on her shelves in alphabetical order. He didn't deserve to be treated like a freak. He could be annoying, but she could see that deep down he wasn't as shallow as he seemed.

Now that she thought about it, he was actually very sweet, and his gentle personality was unlike any of the others that she had met on Earth.

She sighed again,

Why am I so infatuated with him?

I don't understand how one day I could be completely in control of my emotions, then the next he smiled at me and it was like I'd been hit by a truck.

She groaned and flopped backward onto her bed.

This is stupid.

Raven mentally slapped herself as she shoved her previous thoughts away.

She pushed play on her music player, turning the volume up until she couldn't hear herself think over the blaring guitar solo.

Beast boy…

"Finally!" he exclaimed aloud, as he closed the thick book with a snap. It had taken him only an hour to read the whole book, which was extremely fast for him. Now he was ready to follow the instructions.

He gathered all of the supplies that the book required from the local magic shop, and then arranged them according to the directions printed in the leather-bound spell book.

He had just uttered the closing words when he began to wonder if this was just going to let him down.

Raven told him that they were useless. Could he actually remember a time when she was wrong?

Just then, the room began to shake as if an earthquake, a parade of elephants, and a death metal concert were all occurring at the same time.

As quickly as it had happened, it stopped.

He blinked once, and he was suddenly sitting on the ground in an African jungle right outside of a little hut instead of in his room.

His eyes widened,

This is it!

Here goes nothing…

Short chapter. Sorry about that!

Later days!
