CHAPTER 02: "Least Expected."
Most of the time, Kuroko is very cautious and resilient every time Kise makes his advances toward him. And sometimes he would wonder why he accepted this annoying fellow to enter his peaceful life. But this annoying fellow has always been with him, through thick and thin. This fellow accepted him for who he is. This fellow never grew impatient albeit the cold shoulder he always give. He also has Aomine Daiki as a friend though, but they constantly disagree at everything—every single thing. And Kuroko sometimes envies his tanned friend for his bizarre talent in the sports he loved most, basketball.
But there is something about his blonde friend that makes him different nonetheless.
Kuroko's Birthday
Kuroko was halfway done with the preparations when he heard the door bell rang. "Ah, Kise-kun." he murmured. He ran leisurely toward the door to meet his anticipated guess.
"KUROKOCCHI! HA—" Kise's jaw dropped, golden eyes stares shockingly at the sight of the teal haired teen.
Clad in a frilly, sky blue with a printed Angel Cake character in the center, Kuroko Tetssuya welcomed his guest with his usual emotionless face.
"Happy B-Birthday Kurokocchi." Kise could only stutter upon the scenic view he had from the boy. "Now I know what to give you next time." He added. "Kurokocchi is too damn cute." He exclaimed mentally.
"I'm really sorry Kise-kun, but could you please stay here for a while." The teal head pointed to the direction of the living room. "I'm not yet done with the preparations."
"I'll help you out."
"No need Kise-kun, visitors aren't supposed to help. And even if I badly need so I won't let you, you're too perfect in messing up things." Kuroko deadpanned.
"EH? That's harsh Kurokocchi! And the way you say it with that face…" Kise pouted.
"Now I know what to ask Kise-kun for a present."
"What is it?"
"A few minutes of silence."
Utterly defeated by his teal haired, deadpan best friend, Kise marched towards the living room. He noticed the empty feeling enveloped within the household.
After a few minutes of his silence, Kuroko walked in.
"Kise-kun, I'm done with the preparations."
Kise nodded and walked briskly towards his teal head buddy.
"And you can talk now Kise-kun." Kuroko smiled. A very little smile that made the blonde's heart beat faster above usual.
They both walked toward the kitchen and started to eat. Deafening silence filled the whole place as they take dinner together. Kise Ryouta couldn't hide the uneasy feeling he has now that he is alone with the person he loved. Kuroko Tetsuya stays composed as usual, calmness masked in his face.
After the peaceful dinner of the two best friends, they both walked leisurely to the receiving area. They sat on the pastel-colour couch with a few centimetres gap.
"Kurokocchi. I-I have s-something to tell you." Kise stuttered.
"Is it something scary you have to waver like that?" Kuroko asked blatantly.
"It is not! I'm trying to tell you this the whole time but…" he paused; tints of pink crossed his perfect face.
"But what?"
"Let me finish first okay?" Kise answered impatiently. It has to be now, he thought. No matter what answer he would receive, he will accept it wholeheartedly. Besides, true love does not expect something in return.
"I love you Kurokocchi."
There came silence, Kuroko was surprised, fully surprised. Though his face doesn't show it, his blank teal eyes widened. Kise stared at the flustered expression the teal head have. For the first time in Kise Ryouta's timeline he saw the cutest shocked expression.
"Is that so?" Kuroko could only, deadpan. But deep in his heart he is dying in happiness. He never thought he too would fall in love with this noisy, clingy and handsome guy—a complete opposite of him.
Kise frowned. It's not the answer he expects to hear from his teal haired beloved.
Before he could raise the white flag, Kuroko spoke up.
"I love you too Kise-kun."
And there befell silence, Kise is giving Kuroko the best birthday gift ever.
After a couple of minutes Kise found himself leaning closer to the calm teal head before him. The teal head stood still as he felt the warm breath lingering on his face, moving closer and closer. And before they knew it, their lips finally locked and they both shared a passionate kiss that seemed to seal their forever.
After that fateful day, their relationship as best friends concluded and their relationship as couple begins.
Monday came and former best friends began their school days as couple. They seemed to look normal; walking together while Kise does all the talking and Kuroko reading a novel, as if nothing happened last night. Even their close friend Aomine didn't notice the changes in their current relationship status because they seem to look normal.
One day, a modelling scout came to Teikou to look for Kise Ryouta. Said modelling scout came from a modelling agency and is obvious to recruit the tall, handsome young blonde to work as a part time model for some sporting goods. Kise unequivocally accepted the offer because he thought the price is right. "Tetsuyacchi and I could go to dates more often." He giggled.
(A/N: I'm sorry for this part. TT_TT)
While the blonde is working, Kuroko usually stays at the basketball court to wait for him. He watches his tanned friend amazingly play the sport he loved most. Then after work Kise would text his significant other to meet him at Maji's.
"You don't have to work so hard Kise-kun." Kuroko stated, concern covering his stoic face.
"I'm just securing our future Tetsuyacchi, if I continue to work diligently till high school then I could save up for our—"he was cut off by the questioning look of the teal head.
"Securing our what? I simply don't get it Kise-kun."
"Because I'm gonna marry Kuroko Tetsuya after high school." Kise answered sincerely, followed by a light kiss he gave to the puzzled teal head.
"I'm afraid same sex marriage is not yet legal in this country Kise-kun."
"That's my point Kurokocchi. I'm gonna save up lots and lots of money so we can get married overseas!" Kise exclaimed.
Kuroko smiled and gave the blonde a kiss in the cheek.
"Wait a sec Tetsuyacchi."
"Hm?"
"Stop calling me Kise-kun anymore." The blonde pouted.
"What shall I call you then?"
"My first name of course! I'm no longer your best friend but your boyfriend so you better call me by my first name. Just like how I address you now, Tetsuyacchi."
"I understand. Shall we go home now, first name?"
"TETSUYACCHI!"
And they both laughed. Kuroko could be playful sometimes.
And so their freshman year ended and the KiKuro couple spent the summer vacation mostly together. Most of their vacations were spent over Kuroko's house, and finally Kise was able to meet his better half's parents too. The teal head's parents surprisingly accepted their relationship to the extent of supporting the blonde's decision to marry their only son, much to the said blonde's happiness. The same goes for Kuroko, he too was able to meet his boyfriend's parents and sisters and much to their surprise Kise's sisters liked the teal head so much.
And for the first time, the couple made outover Kise's house when the blonde's family was away.
Kise also got his first car, a gift from the modelling agency he works.
Their second year in middle school commenced and that's the only time Aomine Daiki figured out their relationship as couple.
"Aomine-kun is a basketball genius and that ends there." Kuroko said nonchalantly.
"What do you mean by that Tetsu? Is it my fault for not noticing you and Kise going out? You don't even look like a couple!" Aomine blurted.
"Of course it is, Ahomine-kun."
"Oi Oi Aominecchi! What makes you say that Tetsuyacchi and I don't look like a couple?" Kise barged in.
"I think I know the answer Ryouta-kun." Kuroko paused to take a sip in his all time favourite. "Because Ryouta-kun is always surrounded by girls lately, I probably don't suit with you anymore."
"That's what I think so too." Aomine muttered.
"But Tetsuyacchi is the only one I can't live without. I don't care about those cute girls flocking on me." the blonde defended.
"Then how did you know they are cute? You must be looking at them. Seriously Ryouta-kun." Kuroko stated with a suspicious look thrown to his boyfriend.
"I have eyes Tetsuyacchi, of course I can see them."
"No, you have your eyes on them." Kuroko rolled his eyes.
"Oi oi! Are you two fighting?" Aomine scratched the back of his head.
None of them answered. Chilly breeze blew before them, a clear premonition of an upcoming cold war between the two pastel-haired lovers. Silence filled the building's rooftop where the trio took their lunch together.
In their second year in middle school, the couple are not in the same class but rather Kise and Aomine. They are both in Class 2-C while Kuroko is in Class 2-A. Oftentimes, Kise would open up to their basketbaka friend Aomine about their recent fights because of his increasing fan girls.
"You couldn't blame Tetsu for that." Aomine stated. "Of course he would feel jealous because he loves you that much."
"Tetsuyacchi just don't trust me." Kise pouted.
"Stop acting like a child Kise! Why don't you just show him your love and secure your relationship instead of sulking like that?" then he hit the blonde's head.
"That hurts Aominecchi!"
Meanwhile in Kuroko's class room.
"Excuse me; may I borrow your Calculus text book for a while? I forgot mine at the club's locker room." A straight, stoic voice was heard.
The teal head didn't respond and could only stare absent-mindedly at the empty school grounds.
"Excuse me, Aomine's friend." Then he gave the teal head a soft tap on the shoulder.
Kuroko jolted and immediately faced the red haired guy speaking.
"I apologize for not paying attention, could you say that again?"
"Oh by the way, I'm Akashi Seijuurou and I'm sorry for intruding your daydream. So, may I borrow your Calculus text book for a while?" the red head replied
"I'm not daydreaming. Where is yours by the way?" the teal head handed the said textbook.
"I accidentally left it at the club's locker room. And for sure it would take time for me to get it so I'll just borrow yours for a while." He calmly answered. "And you're planning on telling me your name, aren't you?"
"Oh I'm sorry, I'm Kuroko Tetsuya. Nice meeting you Akashi-kun."
Classes ended and Kuroko found Kise waiting for him right outside his classroom. The hallway seems to be covered with silence as the teal head slowly approaches his blonde boyfriend.
"I'm sorry Kurokocchi."
"Kise-kun."
"Is Kurokocchi still mad at me?" Kise asked, sparkly puppy eyes glued on the teal head's teal eyes.
"Not anymore, Kise-kun." Kuroko smiled.
"KUROKOCCHI!"
With that Kise hugged Kuroko tightly, almost suffocating his better half to death.
"I really missed Tetsuyacchi. Fighting with you seems to be the hardest thing to deal with." Kise exclaimed with hands entwined to the teal head's as they make their way to Maji's.
"You're exaggerating as always Kise-kun. Our fight only lasted for four hours."
"But for me it's like forever, you couldn't blame me for that! Moreover, Tetsuyacchi is the only one I can't live without."
"I'm always mindful of that Ryouta-kun. And I missed you too." Kuroko tightened his grip to the blonde's soft hands.
Months passed by and soon first semester will come to an end. And the Kise-Kuroko relationship stood stronger and stronger amidst the blonde's growing popularity all over the country. Kise Ryouta stayed true and loyal to his beloved albeit he is very busy with additional modelling loads given to him. Kuroko Tetsuya on the other hand, stayed faithful and believes his beloved though they only see each other once in a while.
And their seemed to be happy-ending love story concluded at the time they least expected it.

To Be Continued.
A/N: I told you I'm bad at writing news. And the places (except for Shibuya) are all products of my crazy mind. None of those said places are true, so don't bother checking the map or look for the drunk driver. And lastly, sorry for the wrong grammars. Review! ;D
