Meant To Be
An Empty House
A few hours went by, and then Mebuki and Mikoto decided it was getting late and they should head on home.
"Alright bye now you two, drive safely!" Kushina said as she leaned against the doorway of her house holding the door opened, waving her hand frantically as she grins.
"Have a nice night Kushina, thank you for having us!" Mikoto and Mebuki said at the same time as they waved goodbye, smiling at her childish ways.
Kushina then slowly shuts her door, and goes inside to clean up the mess, that she insisted she would clean on her own before they left.
"Mebuki, call me if you need me." Mikoto say as her smile falls off her face from before, and paused slightly and gives a look to Mebuki of seriousness.
"If things don't go okay, just come on over. You can stay in the guest room. My offer still stands." Mikoto says as they slowly walks down the walkway.
"I will, thank you again Mikoto. I needed today, I appreciate you being there for me." Mebuki says smiling trying to reassure her best friend, and then leans in to hug Mikoto, because of everything she did for her today. Mikoto smiles and hugs her back.
"I don't know what I would do without you." Mebuki whispers to Mikoto as she hugs her. Mikoto smiles and pats her back.
"Again, call me. Okay? Good night! I'll see you soon!" Mikoto says a few second after the hug, and stands by her car.
"I will, good night." Mebuki says and then Mikoto and Mebuki both gets into their cars and drive back home.

When Mebuki gets home she decides to just park her car outside, and not in the garage so she wasn't sure if her husband was home.
"I'm home!" Mebuki announced when she opened the door to an empty house around six o clock at night, she was glad she got to spend the day with her friends, they help calm her nerves for a little while, but when she got home all of her bad feelings and uncertainty of what to expect came back, she walked tensely into the house, nervous that her husband would already be home and waiting for her to cook dinner for him, while she had already ate at Kushina's so she wasn't hungry. When she realized no one was home she released a sign that she didn't know she was holding in. She was glad that she was going to have time to rewind and prepare herself before she had to tell her husband the news. The news that could ruin everything for their relationship.
Slowly she walked over to the kitchen and turned on the kitchen light and then she placed her keys and her purse on the kitchen counter. Then she went to the refrigerator and grabbed a carton of pulp free orange juice. Once she did she walked over to the cabinet and grabbed a glass and put it on the counter, and then she poured herself a glass of orange juice and then put the orange juice back into the refrigerator.
After she grabbed the orange juice and began to slowly take each sip, standing in place in front of the counter the entire time. She then slowly sipped it until it had no orange juice left inside it, she put the glass into the sink with the rest of the dirty dishes that she needed to wash. But she was too tired to clean the dishes so she then decided to just head upstairs to take a long needed bubble bath to help her relax and calm down.

When she first got into the bathtub, the water was steaming hot, that it slightly burned her warm soft skin. But she ignored the pain and leaned against the wall of the bath tub, she signed in relief as she breathed in the smell that her bubble bath and bath bombs gave off.
She leaned against the wall of the bath for what seemed like an eternity, and that's when suddenly the tears that she didn't know she was still holding in came flowing down her face, as she sat in the bathtub, that was once filled with bubbles that came from her bubble bath that her husband got for her birthday, it was called Warm Vanilla Sugar and also her lavender bath bombs that Mikoto had made for her when she told her she was having trouble sleeping. But as she sat there longer and longer they became measly. Her tears became apart of the what used to be steaming hot water in the bathtub. The water was cold, but she didn't mind. She kept wiping away the tears off her cheek, but they kept reforming. She wrapped her arms around her knees and hugged them to her chest, trying to keep herself together. One word kept running through her mind. Pregnant. Tears continued to flow down her face silently.
Her crying turned into sobs, which
She knew very well, that Kizashi would suggest an abortion, but she wasn't going to get rid of this child. No way would she ever. The thought makes her sick. This baby inside her made her feel something she never felt before. She felt complete. She felt whole, and she realized she hadn't in a while.
She slowly dropped her body into the water that was cold but she didn't care, and her hair flowed around the water. She held her breath, and went under.
A few seconds went by and then she popped back up, and breathed in the air; catching her breath. Her breathing slowly slowed back down and then she went back to leaning against the wall. Her hair stick to her neck and the rest of it flowed around the water. Her tears continued to flow down.

Once she felt relaxed and her muscles weren't as tense, and the tears stopped flowing down her cheek, she got out of the bath that was cold from staying in the bathtub for so long. Once she got out, droplets of water dripped down her bare skin. She quickly wrapped the last white cotton towel from the rack around her still damp body. It felt so warm, and cozy compared to the water. She started to shake slightly, when she realized how cold she actually was. She then grabbed another white cotton towel from the linen closet and she grabbed her hair to wrap her soaked hair that was sticking against her neck and back with the white cotton towel.
She takes a deep breath, and turns around and looks into the foggy mirror. With her hand she wipes the mirror leaving it slightly smudged, but she was able to see through it.
She stares into the mirror, and looks at herself, and grips the edge of the sink. She couldn't believe how tired she looked. Her eyes were puffy and red. She felt weak, and lost. She hated when she felt like this. It made her feel so insecure about herself. She grabbed a pony tail holder from on top of the counter, and put her long blonde hair into a messy bun.
She turns on the sink and lets the water get ice cold, and then splashed her face with it.
'What am I going to do' Mebuki thought to herself as she walked into her room with her towel wrapped securely around her, she began to look around to find a set of pajamas in the top draw of her dresser. She put on a light pink oversized shirt that layed flat on her, and put on her comfy grey sweatpants, and also put on her favorite white fluffy slippers.
"Where has the day gone" Mebuki whispered to herself as she entered her bedroom to see that the digital clock said in big red letter that it was already eight o' clock.
She quickly went downstairs and cleaned up the little mess that she had not cleaned up from when she made breakfast, before she went to Mikoto's house.
After the kitchen was once again spotless she watched the news for a few minutes, but then turned it off because there was nothing interesting going on.
She walked to the main door and locked it, knowing that Kizashi had his own key, and headed back up to her room.
Deciding that she was too exhausted to wait for her husband to get home she got under the covers and curled up into a ball and fell into a deep slumber.
She didn't wake up until the very next morning; she turned around to look at the other side of the bed, since she had faced the window last night, expecting to see her husband sleeping peacefully next to her, but she was surprised to see that her husband wasn't even there.
Suddenly she got an uneasy feeling that something was wrong and she removed the warm and comfy covers off her body and jumped out of bed.
She ran downstairs hoping that he was in the kitchen making himself a cup of black coffee and maybe even making her a cup of Lemon Honey tea. But as she entered the kitchen all she found was an empty kitchen, left just the way she left it last night before she took a shower. The kitchen was completely spotless. There wasn't a coffee mug in the sink, not even a mug left on the kitchen counter. Which he usually did because he was always rushing out of the house. Which usually was the sign for her to know that he had just left a few minutes or hours before she woke up.
He had never returned home last night she included.
She began to get a little worried and decided that if he wasn't home in an hour she would go over Mikoto's house to talk to her about it.
When the hour finally passed, she turned off the television and left the living room. She walked up stairs, holding onto the railing. Once she made her way up the stairs she turned the corner to go into her room. She opened her closet and grabbed a shirt and jeans. Her outfit consisted of a simple light grey tank top and dark blue jeans. Then she walked over to her vanity and put on some sunglasses because the sun was bright today. And grabbed the hair brush that was on her vanity and ran a brush through her hair, getting rid of all the tangles.
Then she walked back downstairs and grabbed her key and purse from the kitchen counter, and left the house.
When she reached Mikoto's house she knocked on the door, but didn't even wait for her to answer. They were that close.
She opened the door and let herself in and walked into the kitchen to meet eye to eye with a little five year old boy; Itachi.
"Oh! AUNTIEE! Hi Mebuki-Chan! My mom should be down soon she had to quickly take a shower. She said she felt icky hehe." Itachi said cheerful as he smiled big at Mebuki showing her that he had a few missing teeth while giggling to himself about the comment that he made of his mom, finding himself hilarious.
And before she could even blink he was attached to her giving her a huge bear hug.
"I heard that there is a baby in that belly of yours, just like my mommy does! Is it true? Is it true Auntie?" Itachi asked innocently with a huge grin on his face, while he stared up at his second mom with awe.
Mebuki knelled down to Itachi's level and ruffled his hair while giggling.
"Why yes, that is very true sweetie! Are you going to be a good big brother to him or her when he or she is born?" Mebuki asked trying to tease Itachi.
"Of course I will! I'll protect her from everything! I have a feeling it's a girl Mebuki-Chan!" Itachi stick out his pinky finger to make a promise to Mebuki.
"I pinky promise to protect her and also my little brother or sister with all of my strength!" Itachi randomly shouted with a slight blush on his face, looking away.
She smiled softly at him, Mikoto has raised such a pleasant young boy. They crossed pinky fingers. "I believe in you with all of my heart Itachi!"
She chatted with Itachi about various things, until his mother finally entered the kitchen.
Mikoto was slightly shocked to see Mebuki in her house, chatting with her son after she got out of the shower.
"Oh! Mebuki! What are you doing here? Is everything alright?" Mikoto asked when she saw Mebuki in her kitchen talking to Itachi, immediately she got worried.
"Well I came here, because Kizashi never came home last night, and I was worried. Do you know if anything is going on at the Military Police Force." Mebuki asked Mikoto trying not to sound to alarm, not wanting to worry Itachi.
"Not that I know of since Fugaku came home just fine last night at a decent hour." Mikoto told Mebuki honestly "Maybe he got called into a mission, on short notice?"
"Yeah, I'm sure that must be it. Well I don't want to bother you both any farther. I'm sorry to intrude! I'm going to see the Fourth Hokage and ask him if he went on a mission. I'll see you later!"
"Alright, let me know how it goes Mebuki." Mikoto said.
Mebuki gave one final hug to Itachi and a hug to Mikoto before leaving.
When she arrived at the Hokage's Tower, she took a deep breath. When she calmed her nerves she knocked on the door to his office.
"Come in" Minato said and shortly after Mebuki entered. "Oh hello Mebuki-Chan, it's nice to see you again!" He was sitting at his desk with piles of paper work scattered on his desk.
"Hi Hokage-Sama, I wanted to ask you personally if you assigned Kizashi a misson, he hasn't been home since yesterday morning." Mebuki asked as politely as she could trying not to let her anxiety get the worst of her.
"Oh yes! That was why I was rushing out of my house the other day. I apologize again for my rudeness." He continued after Mebuki accepted his apology and told him she understood that he was a busy man.
"But yes, right now your husband is on a last minute mission that should last a month. There has been a few attacks going on in a town nearby and he went on a spying mission to figure out what is going on. But I certain you that he'll be alright, the people who were attacked were just normal civilians and not ninjas." Minato explained to Mebuki.
"Thank you, Hokage-Sama. I'm sorry that I took up so much of your time! If you hear anything from him would you be able to have it reported to me?" Mebuki asked Minato.
"Of course Mebuki, don't worry too much about it. I'm sure the time will fly by! And Kushina told me about you being pregnant. Congratulations, I'm sure that Kizashi will be excited to hear the news once he returns." Minato smiled at Mebuki and then his eye wandered to the piles of paperwork he had to do. "Well sorry to cut this short, but I must work on some paper work, but I promise to report to you directly if I hear any news."
With that Mebuki took her leave after thanking the Hokage one last final time.
When she returned home she broke down into tears, and just moped around in bed all day until nightfall.
That night Mebuki couldn't sleep peacefully, all she did was toss and turn. Her thoughts drove her insane; she kept thinking that something was going to happen. What if he never did return home? What if he never knew that he was going to be a father?
The next morning she woke up, probably only getting an hour of sleep, two hours at most.
Once she finally got dressed and put on her sunglasses on again because it was sunny, but mostly to cover the bags underneath her eyes. She knew exactly where she wanted to go. Mikoto's house.
She needed some advice, and she knew she was the best at giving advice.
So without a second thought she was out the door.
Two chapters in one day! I wanted to make another chapter, but I didn't know how I should make Kizashi react to the news, so this bought me some more time. Let me know what I should do. Oh and I was going to do a time skip in this chapter (To a month and make Sasuke be born but I decided to make a filler chapter!) Also I think the next chapter might be more about Mikoto. But yeah, still let me know what should happen to Kizashi.
