A/N:Reaction to chapter 2 of inception, here it is.
Burn
I was hurrying to finish my food. I didn't really want to run into Regina, I wasn't sure she would come in, but Henry had school and I knew she probably wouldn't want to stand at a stove to cook breakfast. The bell above the door rang and I knew instantly it was them. I could feel her attention on me. I could feel her scowl on me and I wondered if maybe she knew what I had experienced the night before.
Okay Emma, you can do this. It's Regina. You're friends now. I swallowed the mouthful I had been working on and looked up at Henry and Regina. I smiled, because it was just what I did when I saw my son. I looked over at her and her features softened from a scowl to slightly indifferent. Then she shifted a bit uncomfortably where she stood diverting her eyes from mine.
I could see she was a little unsure. "Hey!" I said to them. Henry came up to me and hugged me as he sat in the booth next to me leaving the seat across from us free for Regina. But she just stood there watching. She shifted uncomfortably and I remembered my manners finally. "I was just finishing up, but you can join me if you want." She needed the invitation. She didn't get that She was family to me.
She nodded as she sat across from us. "Good morning." She said.
"How are you feeling?" I asked, I hoped that maybe the hangover wasn't so bad and maybe she didn't remember crying on my shoulder. I wasn't going to bring it up.
"I am well, thank you for helping me to bed last night." She said. There was a nervous movement of her eye. She was trying to hide something from me. But she was thanking me, It didn't matter what it was she was trying to hide. She was probably being polite.
"Don't mention it." I said and turned back to my meal.
She picked up her menu, no doubt because this conversation felt a little unnatural. It had to be my fault. That experience last night had been so weird. It was about her and I didn't quite know what to do about it. "How did you sleep Ms. Swan?"
Was she in my head? I panicked. I had a vivid and very lucid sexual experience that somehow involved her… and then I slept like a fucking baby.
She looked up at me. I know I was completely red, there was no reason for me to be blushing from that question and I couldn't explain it away. I couldn't look at her. She put the menu down and narrowed her eyes. "Ma, You okay?" Henry asked. I took a sip of my juice and nodded
"Uh, Yeah… I'm fine." She said clearing my throat. "I had the best sleep I've had in a long time."
Regina looked at me as if she wanted to ask what that was about. I glanced over at Ruby and very subtly asked her to come. "What can I get you your Majesty?" Ruby said saving my neck. I owed her big time. Regina looked Ruby over as if she didn't understand why she had been interrupted.
She shook her head dispelling the line of questioning that was without a doubt forming. "Yes Ms. Lucas, I will have my usual breakfast please."
"Okay, what about you Henry?"
"Give me a stack?" he said. Regina Glared him waiting for his manners to catch up. His eyes darted from Regina and back to Ruby. "Please?"
Ruby grinned at him. "Coming right up."
I needed a change of subject. Last night was the past. A past that I can only relieve in the privacy of my own bed. "So What are you guys up to today?" I asked breaking the pause. I hated pauses because there was too much being said in the silence.
"School." Henry groaned.
"Duh," I replied rolling my eyes. "any after school plans?'
"Kinda… Everyone wants me to get into fencing or archery at school. They are having tryouts today." He said with a shrug.
"That is a phenomenal idea." Regina stated. "Why have we not heard of this before?"
"Yeah Kid, don't you need us to sign some sort of permission slip for that?" I added.
"Well, you've been a little busy, you know, wall of ice and all." He pulled out his slip for Regina to sign and their food finally arrived.
Now I had to find a good way to segway this conversation into me leaving this table. But there had been something on my mind for a while. Now that there was nothing looming over our heads, what was Regina going to do. I remembered seeing a law degree from Harvard in Regina's study. I wonder how the curse knew to get her something so prestigious. "What about you, Regina?" I asked turning to her.
she mumbled something unintelligible. I had a feeling that it had nothing to do with work or this town. "I'm sorry, what was that?" I asked.
"I have no duties, so I will just tend to the matters of my home." She stated playing with her food. I really had to get her mind off of Robin. It wasn't good for her.
"You know, I hadn't thought about your work." I said thoughtfully.
"haven't had much time to do so," she agreed Well there was that fact.
Well since she had the Law degree… I wondered if she had taken the BARR Exam "Did you give yourself a law license?" I asked. "Because we could use a local court system."
she raised an eyebrow. "You want me to become the magistrate?" she asked.
"Yes… Face it, I love my mom but she could use help. This way no one would be under anyone's thumb."
"Right!" Henry added. "Kind of like the checks and balances in the government."
"That is intriguing. I will give this some thought." she answered taking a bite of her meal.
The kid had finished his stack quickly and stood up to go. "I'm gonna be late. Bye Moms." He hugged the both of us and left us on a lurch in an awkward silence.
I couldn't take it anymore. I had to go, because whatever happened last night had changed the energy between us. It's not exactly unpleasant, but it wasn't the easiest thing to withstand. "well I better get down to the station. See ya around, Regina."
I slid out of the booth and hurried out of the diner just barely catching Regina's "Goodbye Ms. Swan." as the door closed behind me.
I forgot my to go coffee inside and I stopped short at the door of the bug. I looked inside and saw Regina pushing her food around. I was not ready to face her again. I decided to drink the nasty station coffee. I climbed into the bug and sped off.
When I got to the station, Dad was on the phone. "Now, Aaron slow down, what happened with Doc?" He said. I smirked and headed straight for the coffee pot. "He What? I'll be right over." David said as he hung up. " Dock is at the toll bridge threatening to Jump. Will you stay?"
"Yeah, he knows you better. Call if you need me." I said
"Okay." He said and I sat the mug with the scalding hot coffee on the desk. I wondered why they left that pot on so high I imagined it spilling all over myself maybe I could sue the town like that lady did McDonalds… but since my parents are literally the town maybe not. I set it down to cool. and felt my eyelids heavy with sleep.
I didn't get a whole lot of sleep the night before and I was beginning to feel it. Maybe if I just put my head down on the desk…
The phone rang, and I jumped to answer knocking the scalding hot coffee on my lap. "FUCK!" I screamed, but the phone was already in my lap. "Oh shit… oh my god… why is that so hot!"
"Emma?" my mom was at the other end. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah… oh god… mom I just spilled coffee all over my lap I have to change…" I said.
"I was expecting your father on the other end." she stated.
"Yeah he's at the Toll bridge… we have a jumper."
"Thanks Emma." she said. "Are you sure you're okay?"
"Yeah," I said. "Just gonna go assess the damage. I might be able to fix this with the first aid Kit in here."
"You mean Magic?" She said.
"Yeah…" I answered.
"Talk to you later."
"Okay." I said and headed back into the back office. I pulled off my boots whimpering as my jeans rubbed at my tender thighs the wrong way.
The front door to the station made a sound as someone walked into the police department. Great, just what I needed. "Hello? Sheriff Swan?" It was Regina. My entire body tingled and I hurried to take off the jeans so that I could see what I had done. Shortly her steps started in my direction. "Emma?" she said peeking into my office. She had caught me in my tank top and boy shorts struggling to pull soaked skinny jeans off.
"Regina!" I said I felt the heat rising, not only on my burned thighs, but also through my body thoroughly embarrassed. Because hell, the fact she was seeing me like this kind of turned me on. I wanted her to do what she did to me with her magic the night before. or was it my magic and my imagination and she just didn't want me like that.
She just stood there in stunned silence. Her eyes raked my body and finally spotted the angry burn on my thighs. "Emma!" She said surging forward, hands sparking with her purple fire.
"No, don't-" I said moving away they were tender to the touch. Plus I was sure that if she touched me I would come undone, I was all wound up.
She placed her hands on my bare thighs despite my protest, and the magical energy flooded my thighs and my whole body. My nipples reacted immediately and my back arched. I bit my lip trying not to moan. I closed my eyes tightly. She took a deep breath and then I felt her lips just above my underwear.
This was so familiar as she kissed her way along my abdomen and down my thighs where the burns used to be. she raked my hands from my lower back and hooked her fingers on my underwear and pulled them down. The feel of her nails on my skin nearly made my knees buckle. She pushed my hips up on the desk and settled there between my thighs. She licked me languidly. My hips lifted to meet her limber tongue. My god she was skilled with that thing. I tossed my head back finally letting a moan escape my lips.
My hips began to rock., and then she took my clit into her mouth and sucked. I saw stars I swear "Oh Fuck Regina… Just Fuck me please." I moaned pushing my hips into her face..
She complied inserting first two fingers. She stood up letting her thumb first ghost over my clit then flick at it as she took my left breast into her mouth over the fabric of my shirt and bra. That made me so hot, my hips bucked trying to get as much contact with this woman as I could.
I tangled my hands in her hair and pulled her away from my breast. I needed to see her. I needed to understand why she wanted to be here with me. Was it just sex? Or was it more. I could do just sex, but Regina was my friend. I … could fall for her. She increased her movement. "Oh fuck, oh fuck." was all I could say between groans and grunts, but I didn't look away I didn't close my eyes because this was more than sex to her. I loosened my grip on her hair and brought my hand to her face as my orgasm intensified. Just knowing that it meant more. Seeing it in her eyes made it feel like giving in to this feeling this orgasm was worth everything. I wanted to be her happy ending.
The phone rang and I spilled the stupid coffee on my lap. "Shit!" I said but the coffee was so cold. I picked up the phone. "Sheriff…"
"Emma… I thought I'd find your father." I looked at the phone quizzically. Then I put the phone back to my ear.
"He's at the Toll bridge… we have a Jumper."
"Thanks Emma." Mary Margaret said. "See you tonight."
"Yeah, later." I said and hung up the phone. I grabbed a bunch of paper towels and cleaned up the coffee mess then headed into my office to change my Jeans.
My cell chimed as I pulled everything out of my pockets. It was a text from Henry.
Kid: Emma wanna come over for dinner?
I took a second. I didn't know if I really wanted to face that awkwardness again.
Me: Did your mom say it was okay?"
Kid: Yes. Seven Okay? Don't be late.
Me: I didn't say I was going.
Kid: you know you love her cooking.
Damn it Kid knows me too well.
Me: See you at seven.
I smiled at the emoji he sent and shook my head as I changed to a pair of faux leather pants I had forgotten I had ordered and left at the station. I put them on and I had to admit, they looked pretty hot on me. I looked at the clock, shocked that I had slept till three. I had half an hour left to my shift. Now as long as nothing happened from now to quitting time, I should be to dinner on time. The station phone rang. I groaned internally as I answered. "Sheriff…"
