Author's Note:
Hello everyone! It's Kimora again, and it's about time I finally update once again! Isn't that something, huh? Well, I had a little hard time thinking of what to put for the second chapter, but since this series basically starts on Episode 34 of Shaman King, I have decided to take it from there. However. . .this chapter has a little surprise. . .A debut of the most powerful, formidable force in the universe. And sorry if that sounds like a Mary-sue, I guess I just added so much powers at his disposal that I ended up making him a Goddess. However, only a small portion of this chapter will introduce that very Goddess. Please don't flame me on that either, and thank you for sticking with me through the first chapter and my unrealistic moments. I tend to get like that because just as well as I make it realistic by giving my OCs disorders, I will make it part unrealistic, so bear with me, guys, just bear with me.
Well. There's not much left to say but one simple message: please enjoy Blaze Two of Darkness in the Light!
~Blaze Two: The Outcast~
An eerie shrine was drenched in the plagued darkness that seemed to come from a mysterious book hidden from all and guarded by the Asakura family from generation to generation. Now an elderly man by the name of Yohmei had taken three people-two Shaman and one human-to see the book for the very first time in their whole entire lifetime. "The Tomb of the Shaman has been protected by the Asakura family for generations," began Yohmei as he glared at the book with suspicion. "It was written by Zeke over 1000 years ago, and it contains the great secrets to Shaman power. If Yoh were to study this book and to experience its content, he could become as powerful as Zeke was over 1000 years ago." He then turned to a young lady with shoulder length blonde hair and amber eyes, adding, "It's dangerous, but we must find a way to get that tomb to Yoh."
Then, unexpectedly, a pink-haired young pre-teen girl had the book in her hand, not realizing how dark it was, and she offered, "Maybe I could take the book to Yoh! That is, if nobody else wants to."
"Bad idea Tamura!" stated a short young man with short golden-brown hair, pointing at the book in the girl's hand. "Put the book down!"
After gasping silently in shock, Yohmei returned to his calm face, informing, "As long as the seal is intact, the book is harmless."
"Really?" Tamura asked, curious.
"The shikigami that protect the book will only attack if the book seal is broken, and only a powerful Shaman would dare do that."
Just after Master Yohmei reassured that factor, a slip of paper fell with a drift to the ground, and the two spirits that had accompanied the group shied away, half knowing what had just happened while at the same time half confused and wary on the most certainly unfortunate future.
Scared of what had just took place, the pink-haired young lady questioned hesitantly, "Was. . . Was that the seal?"
Just before Yohmei could say anything, the book was dropped as black dust seemed to expel from the leaves of the Tomb, and the miniscule young man, Morty, exclaimed in fright, "This is very very bad!"
"It is forbidden for these pages to be read," an malignant voice stated with dripping danger, appearing as if it were coming from the Tomb of the Shaman.
Cuddling together as if a tornado were beginning to take its toll on nature, Tamura held Morty close as she wailed, "The book's talking!"
Stepping back in dismay, Yohmei breathed in disgust, "It's the Shikigami!"
Suddenly, a mystic light poured from the book in a way that a hologram does, and two Shikigami spirits were revealed, and both the red and blue one said simultaneously, "The seal has been broken and now all must be destroyed!"
"It is just what I never wanted to happen," the elderly Shaman added to his words from a few seconds ago. "Zeke has chosen Shikigami with tremendous potentiality to protect the wretched Tomb."
"All must be destroyed!" the two formidable spirit creatures repeated once more before the red Shikigami launched towards the posse, an axe in hand that seemed to be carved by Satan's signature blacksmith. Clearly this was not going to be an easy battle to win, and it was surely not guaranteed Yohmei could even destroy the Guardians of the Tomb. The Guardians that proved themselves worthy of such a drastic job.
As all successfully leaped out of harm's demon-blooded way, Yohmei attempted to fling some of his signature Oni spirit leaf sprites at the blood-red Shikigami to hopefully break through the spell, but when not even two times would work, Yohmei admitted defeat, grunting, "Zeke has a powerful hold on the Guards. I can't manage to shatter his spell based on the amount of Furioku I have."
Meanwhile, the blue Shikigami inched closer and closer to Tamura and Morty, who wailed boisterously as the demon's five eyes landed dead-on the two inexperienced people. But, little did any of them know that the blonde-headed girl, Anna, had been reading an excerpt of the book all that time, and as she closed the book she whispered under her breath, "Ah. This might work." Swiftly, she unveiled her newest spirit medium, the 1080 beads, and began casting a possibly prohibited spell: "By the power of the 1080 beads, through the learnings of Zeke, let the Shikigami go from powerful to beat!" Once the 1080 beads restricted the two Guards from movement, Anna landed on her feet, uttering one final chant, and just like that the Shikigami were forced against their will to return to their proper and respective places: their seal.
Tamura muttered in disbelief, "It really worked."
"It was an excellent idea to search through the book, and it was an idea I never thought of. Moreover, it is most impressive that you have the capability of defying Zeke's spell," Yohmei complimented Anna just when you least expected it.
Upon hearing this, Anna turned to her left. "I'm just as surprised as you are, Master Yohmei. It's the new 1080 beads. My abilities have now been enhanced due to its overpowering strength."
. . .
"WHO DID THIS?!" roared a Bipolar-diagnosed hermaphrodite as he slammed his feminine hands on the dresser in spiteful hate, tears simultaneously sliding down his pale, flawless cheeks as did the tears from his heart. The sight of all the blood on his father, Zeke Asakura, made his inner mind scream vociferously louder than he ever could with his own feminine voice. "WHOMEVER DID IT WILL HAVE TO ANSWER TO-"
"Hao-sama, please stop yelling," begged an innocent, small little girl as she tugged on the hermaphrodite's-apparently Hao's-blaze-red sweatpants, hoping Hao would cease his ruthless yells and useless rage.
Gazing at the little girl, Hao grunted, apologizing, "Sorry, Opacho. I guess I kinda got outta hand." Then his head swung around, whipping his long, chestnut high-ponytail as he turned to his father. . .who was only 15 due to how Hao had met Zeke. "I still have every right to know who did this, Daddy! If you know who it is, let me-"
"Nobody attacked me," interrupted the 15 year old father, causing Hao to jump back, stunned. Amused by Hao's reaction, Zeke continued with, "My sweet little angel, it was none but an incident in which my Shikigami were defeated. Perhaps that was a surprise, especially when it came from a friend of Yoh's, but that's quite alright. In fact it was just what I wanted."
. . .
"Ah, take a look at the beautiful blue yonder," breathed the black-haired man as he and the others rode on the back of a truck atop what looked to be a massive pile of hay. "Sort of tempts you into forgetting about those mysterious X-Laws. Wouldn't you agree, Trey?"
"Impossible!" denied the ice-blue haired young chap as he too gazed upwards upon the vast blue heavens, his inner focus seemingly off. "I mean, how could I ever forget what those X-Laws did to Basil."
Now filled with growing curiosity, ShadowSoul sat up from his originally laid-back position, corkscrewing his upper body in order for his luscious garnet orbs to land on two of his new friends. Blinking, his eyes held as much interest and wonder as the expanding universe could countless number of stars and black holes and galaxies and what-not. Though he had wanted to speak, he was always taught not to jump into other's conversation if it had not one thing to do with him, and he didn't want himself to appear like an uncourteous young man. However, the boy to his right touched his shoulder, causing him to jump slightly. Swiveling back to his original position and turning his head to the right, ShadowSoul gazed at Yoh with concerned garnet pearls. "What is it, Yoh?" the young Dragon/Pokémon Anthro asked in his naturally alluring voice.
Smiling warmly at ShadowSoul, the brunette-haired slacker boy narrowed his eyes sweetly, replying with a dose of allowance, "If you want to speak then please do! Don't be afraid! We won't bite, and we promise you that, ShadowSoul. What might you wish to say?"
Still kind of worried about what the posse would think, ShadowSoul shook his head no, his eyes staring down between his legs as he attempted to prohibit eye contact with each and every one of them. But when Yoh slipped his hand under his own chin and tilted his head up, the Deity knew he had to speak. Especially when the poster boy for slack gently whispered in his face with sweet sweet benevolence, "Why do you refuse to speak? Do you really think we're going to-"
"It's a personal issue, alright?!" ShadowSoul began shivering with fear and a drop of embarrassment, remembering at how kids always beat him to another low whenever he asked a question, whenever he was confused on something, even when he was simply telling someone something, and as he thought this his mind felt like a headache was beginning to form. All the while he seemed to keep the group guessing, mainly on why this young man before them refused to trust them. None of you guys have an idea what kind of Hell I went through in my past, ShadowSoul thought to himself as he tried so hard to stare into Yoh's onyx-brown orbs without busting into tears. It was impossible. How could you all even begin to comprehend the children from 2033? Don't you see, can't you tell that I've been all alone for several months with not one person or teenager to talk to? How I was stuck with being abused and slowly dying, hurting immensely inside at how I could never tell anyone or else I wound die? I wish I could open my heart to all of you, but I can't. . .I can't let go of my past, and I cannot take a chance on having my soul withering anymore.
With a peculiar throbbing within his heart, Yoh was overwhelmingly concerned about ShadowSoul's lack of communication, determination hidden deep inside his clouded eyes. Brushing the new member's brunette bangs that framed his porcelain face, the principle of the team easily caught ShadowSoul's attention by surprise, and he pressed on with as much mercy as he could create, knowing he was not going to let this beautifully-shattered teen boy stay mute throughout the whole journey. Smiling reassuringly, Yoh asked yet again, "Why won't you speak, ShadowSoul? You know with us you never have to worry about informing us on your thoughts and feelings. Remember? We promised, and we will forever keep that oath."
"Yeah, dude!" the Ainu shaman sat up, propping his left arm on his left knee. "We have no reason to break you down!"
"For once I agree with icicle hair," the British-accented young man agreed with the Ainu boy with spite.
"Come on, ShadowSoul! What's wrong with expressing your emotions?" questioned the green-haired dowser as he gaped at the battle-scarred Anthro.
"Just say what you wanna say! We won't degrade you!" the black-haired man sat up, giving a thumbs up and winking.
Once his eyes scanned each and every one of them, ShadowSoul could feel the tears begin to form, and this time he wasn't going to stop them. As the droplets of hurt and disbelief and betrayal streamed down his cheeks, the Dragon/Pokémon Anthro placed his head on Yoh's shoulder, crying as he never felt so vulnerable in his life. He never believed that anyone could ever accept him, so he shut himself behind a glass wall. Now he could feel the glass wall begin to crack, but it took much more force to shatter it.
Holding ShadowSoul close in a loving manner, Yoh placed his head on the young Anthro's, cooing the child and rubbing his back in a comforting way. Once his eyes fell on his posse members, he winked, as if to tell them he knew for a fact things would get better. Then his attention returned to the boy he held close in his arms, and when he pecked a kiss on the teenage Anthro's head, he realized what ShadowSoul was crying over and why he would not speak: it was because he never had the freedom to say what he desired to, and he shut himself from the world in order to try and prevent any pain from occurring.
This boy. An outcast. One whom struggled to survive the pounding waves of hate. One whom refused to speak to anyone of any kind just in attempts to save his soul. His fate almost surely destined death, and now it was nobody's job more than Yoh Asakura's to protect this child. The child that now cried on his chest in doubt and bitter amazement. Now, as Yoh gazed down at the flawless young man-whom in which appeared like a beautiful angel weeping-he realized that taking on another member, specifically one of this kind, was not going to be an easy task. But he knew he could not give up, for he loved ShadowSoul, and he would never leave him alone. Not in a million years.
"Hey, Boss, there's a popular tourist attraction right over there! What do you say about us taking a break and checking it out?" the sound of one of his team mate's voice made Yoh jump on the inside, and upon hearing the question he simply nodded, for he was more focused on ShadowSoul than anything else.
Just then he had heard a boisterous dragon roar, and Yoh remembered how he had his dragon, Kaandremov, follow them through the skies. Suddenly, the female dragon's voice registered in his ear as she stated a prophecy, one that Yoh never thought would exist:
A moonlight shadow shall come to the aid of your recoil.
Author's Note:
Well. . .perhaps this was indeed a better chapter than the first, because it's more realistic maybe? I really don't know anymore. XD But dat prophecy at the very end " A moonlight shadow shall come to the aid of your recoil ". . .What do you guys think that means? Tell me via review, and. . .there is not really much of anything to say. XD
The tears and the heartache the Legendary ShadowSoul felt was quite immense, but that still isn't enough to tell who ShadowSoul is. But who could he possibly be? And what's with this prophecy from Kaandremov? What does it hold in store for Yoh? But moreover. . .who is the moonlight shadow mentioned in the prophecy, and what is Yoh's recoil? 'Til next time, this is Kimora here! Over, and out!
