One True Love:

My head goes down despairingly.

Tears about ready to descend;

As I recall my long lost lover.

He was my everything;

My betrothed and the source of all my joy.

I truly felt a love alongside his presence.

But when it suddenly disappeared,

My happiness went along too.

And there I stood with nothing else besides a small, still silence.

With my heart shattered, and in total brokenness;

I fall to my knees with my hands clasped together.

Crying out to God, if He even existed at all.

There, for the very first time;

I felt true fulfillment.

Something no other man could have ever given me.

An amazing love like no other;

That I can dwell in now and for all of eternity.

Hi readers,

I honestly haven't written any poetry in over a year, so I'm sorry if it's a little rusty. I'll try to make it better the next time around. This poem is actually based off of a personal experience that I'm currently going through. Where I'm learning that true contentment can only come from Jesus Himself, and that no one can truly love us like He can. I hope you all stay blessed :) And I'll try to update whenever I can.
