Elena's jaw just dropped.

"WHAT!" You hear Caroline yell from the back. Bonnie just stood still with a shocked expression written all over her face. Cecelia looked at all three girls not knowing what to say next. 'Was this some kind of a sick joke? How DARE he invite me to this wedding!? HOW DARE HE!? Does he think this is a funny joke?' Cecelia thought in her head.

"There is no way", Elena said as she walked over to Cecelia quickly snatching the invitation right out of her hands. She looked down at the invite and her eyes widen. "Oh my god", was all Elena could get out. Caroline rushed right behind her and Bonnie following suit. They both looked over Elena's shoulder reading the invite.

"Oh Cecelia…", Bonnie started.

"What an asshole! I knew he was no good. I never liked him since DAY ONE! And now that you guys been over for two years now, he has the nerve to send you an invite? Why can't he just leave you alone", Caroline yelled out. Cecelia felt like she was on the verge of tears. She felt them threatening her to pour out of her eyes, but she tried her hardest to hold them back. She wasn't the type to cry in front of people. Not even in front of her best friends. With a now blank expression on her face, Cecelia turned towards her home and slowly walked back inside with her friends right behind her. This is got to be the worse day of her life.

Meanwhile in the Salvatore Boarding House

Stephan was walking down the stairs towards the foyer reading down a list and looked a bit confused. He saw Damon pouring himself a cup of Bourbon and then taking a gulp of it down his throat. Not noticing Stephan, he walked towards the ceiling to floor window next to the fireplace looking out to the land that is owned by his family, thinking.

"Damon, I am confused here", Stephan said casually. Damon turned towards him with his cup of Bourbon in his hands.

"About what", Damon asked him.

"Well, I'm going through the guest list and I happen to see Cecelia's name on the list. Um, was that supposed to happen?" Stephan looked from the list to Damon's confused look on his face. Damon raised an eyebrow not sure what he is talking about. Stephen noticing his confused look and he automatically knew that her name wasn't supposed to be there. He brought the list out in front of him for Damon to take. Damon took the list to take a look at it himself and lord and behold, there was her name.

"What the fuck…", Damon said slowly.

"Yeah, same thing what I said when I saw her name there. Along with Elena, Bonnie, Joshua, Caroline, Jeremy, and the rest of Mystic Falls", Stephan explained a little sarcastically when he said the Mystic Falls part.

"How the hell did blondie and the rest of the bananas get in here?"

"How would I know? Ask the person who did the list."

"Well who did the list!?" Stephan shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't have a problem with Cecelia and the girls, I just know that you been trying to keep your distance from…you know…", Stephan trailed on.

"Well, I have a problem with it. Last thing I need is the only ex-girlfriend, who managed to break my undying heart into pieces, at MY WEDDING", Damon explained. For some reason, Stephan couldn't help but smile a little. Damon looked at him with his eyebrow raised again.

"I'm sorry, do you find this amusing little brother", Damon challenged him.

"Actually I do. Isn't it funny how some things turn out?"

"She's not coming to this wedding."

"Oh please, you don't have to tell her that. I'm sure she wouldn't even bother. As much as I associate myself with the two of you, you guys barely saw each other in the past two years. I can probably count in one hand as to how many times you guys even crossed paths."

"Good. I rather keep it that way." Damon this time chugged the rest of his Bourbon from his cup as he turned back to the window looking out.

"So what are you going to do with her invitation", asked Stephan.

"Well clearly, the best way to get the invitation from her is that you go and get it", Damon explained as if it were supposed to be an obvious answer. Stephan pointed his index finger on his chest.

"Me? Oh no, this is your dirty work. YOU handle it." Damon tilted his head to the side, squinting his eyes a bit trying to understand Stephan right now.

"You want me, to go and get the invitation from her?"

"That's exactly what I was saying." Stephan turned on his heels and started to walk away.

"Little brother", Damon called out to Stephan. Stephan stopped at his tracks rolling his eyes and turned towards Damon.

"Yes, Damon", Stephan replied a little annoyed. Damon's corner of his lips curled into a sly smile.

"Watch yourself", he warned sarcastically. In return Stephan just gave him a simple smile.

"Have fun getting that invitation back." With that in a blink of an eye, Stephan was gone before Damon could say anything else. Damon was left alone in the foyer again. Sometimes Damon wished Stephan wasn't a vampire. It would have been so much easier to just beat him into a pulp.

Vampires….

Being a vampire did have it's perks, but it did have their down-sides to it sometimes. He remembered when he first showed Cecelia who he really was...

Flashback

Cecelia knocked on the old boarding house door where Damon lived in. She checked herself one more time making sure she looked okay. She straighten out her shirt, and fluffed up her wavy locks into place. This was the first time she was coming over and she was quite nervous.

She saw the handle to the door turn, as it opened revealing Damon. He wore a black buttoned up shirt. He left the last two top buttons unbutton showing off his firm chest just a little bit. His jeans were hanging a little low at the waist, as his messy hair was perfectly in place. Cecelia can never understand how someone can be so perfect looking like him. His icy blue eyes would just have her hypnotized every time she would look into them.

She was greeted by his smirk as she smiled back at him.

"Had a hard time finding the place? You're late", he asked playfully.

"It's really not that hard to miss it Damon. I was just taking my time", Cecelia pointed out. Damon's smirk grew as she had a point. The house was pretty huge and it did attract a lot of attention.

"This is true. Come in." Damon opened the door wider and stepped aside to let her in. Cecelia walked in and was greeted by a beautiful foyer. It was rather dark inside, but the huge fireplace up ahead would illuminate the room with its golden, orange, fiery color. There was a massive bar to the right of them, with a staircase next to it leading it to the second floor. On either side of the fireplace was a ceiling to floor windows, that shined some sunlight inside with the curtains halfway closed. To the left of them led a hallway to somewhere else and few other doors to different rooms. As for the middle of the foyer were couches that looked like they been around for awhile, yet they look so comfortable, with an ancient looking coffee table in the middle of the couches that surrounded it.

Cecelia stepped down at the few steps in front of her from the entrance to the foyer and looked around in awe.

"This is beautiful", she stated. Damon walked behind her with his hands in his jeans pocket and looked around too.

"Yeah, its been with my family for many many years", Damon responded.

"I've heard so many old stories about this place, but never really bothered to know more about it." Damon just shrugged his shoulders.

"Not much to know about it anyways." He walked past her this time, turning towards her offering his hand for her to take. She smiled at him and took his hand as he led her more into the living room. They both sat on one of the couches together in front of the fire place. Cecelia turned towards him with her lips pressed together not sure if she should ask her next question or not. Damon noticed this.

"What's on your mind", he asked. Cecelia hesitated before responding.

"It's just that, you never really tell me anything about you", she pointed out.

"What's there to know?"

"How about where you're from, why did you come here, who are you exactly, just more about your life. I feel like I'm in the dark all the time because I know so little about you." She raised her hand to his face and softly caressed his cheek. "We've been dating for like four months now. It's okay to open up to me a little more", she assured him. Damon just looked up at her with a hard expression. He wants to tell her, but he doesn't know how. He also doesn't know how she's going to react. So he just softly shook his head.

"Don't worry about me. There's nothing to know", he declined again. Cecelia became disappointed at his response. She decided not to press any further seeing that he doesn't really want talk about his life at all. So instead she kisses him, tenderly and softly just to reassure him that everything is okay. Damon couldn't help but kiss her back. Their kisses became a little bit more urgent as Damon left her lips and then kissed down her jaw, then down to her neck. Cecelia closed her eyes as she enjoyed Damon's cold lips on her neck, but then he stopped. She quickly opened up her eyes because she knew this was going to happen. It happened every single time he would kiss down her neck. She noticed Damon's breathing was very heavy as if he was having a hard time breathing. He just stayed still. Cecelia knew there was something wrong, so she try to turn to face him, but Damon got up and walked away towards the fireplace before she can even see his face.

"Damon, what the hell is going on with you", she said to him a little louder than she expected. Damon didn't turn to her, but responded.

"Don't worry about Cecelia."

"But Damon you keep telling me not to worry about you and there's nothing to talk about when there's clearly something going on!" Cecelia was tired of taking no for an answer and she was going to get something out of him tonight. One way or another. Damon didn't say anything else this time. He just kept quiet staring at the burning fire. Cecelia was starting to grow frustrated.

"I deserve an answer", she yelled at him but, still no answer from him. This time Cecelia got up.

"You are NOT going to keep secrets from me!" She walked up towards him quickly, grabbing his shoulder and spinning him around. As soon as she laid her eyes on his face, they widen in shock. She noticed those once hypnotizing, icy, blue eyes were so pitch black like a black hole. Dark veins pulsed from right under his eyes, giving his eyes a dark aura around them. What looked like sharp fangs protruded from this mouth as he kept breathing a bit heavier with his mouth open. Cecelia was terrified. So terrified that she was afraid to even move. What was he?

"You see now", Damon started. He took a step closer to her, his demonic features still on his face. Cecelia took a step back. "THIS is why I didn't want to tell you anything about me." He takes another step forward and Cecelia took another step back. "THIS is why I didn't want to you know about my past." Damon kept taking steps forward and Cecelia kept taking steps back until she fell back on the couch. Damon leaned down closer to her face, scarier looking up close to her. He planted both his hands on either side of her on the couch so she couldn't escape. "THIS is why I tell you to not worry about me." Cecelia's breathing became heavy now. She didn't know what was going to happen next.

"So, allow me to answer your questions. 1. I am a vampire. 2. Yes, I do drink blood. 3. Yes, I do drink HUMAN blood. And 4. I want your blood...so...badly." Damon paused and got closer to her face, leaving only centimeters between them. Then ever so slowly he moved his face down to her neck. He saw the vein pulsing in her neck, beckoning him to bite. Instead, he slowly spoke.

"But I'm not going to feed on you because...I care about you too much." He moved his face back up at hers and just like that his demonic features dispersed. His eyes were back to his natural unique blue color, and his fangs were gone. His soft porcelain face was back. Damon backed away and sat next to her but not too close. Cecelia controlled her breathing a bit now as she stared ahead of her trying to make some sense out of it. Vampires? How can this be? She slowly turned towards him. She should be scared out of her mind right now, running away from this monster, and save herself, but no. He wasn't a monster to her. If anything she just wanted to be there for him even more because this seemed like something he has struggled with for awhile now.

"I have self control and I would never hurt you Cecelia", he said breaking the silence. Cecelia just gave him a really soft smile and slowly reached for his hand that was placed on the couch. She took it, holding his hand firmly.

"I know you won't", she finally said.

End flashback

Damon stood there smirking. The look on Cecelia's face at first was just priceless. It wasn't really the way he wanted to break it to her, but hey she did ask for it. Damon's smirk on his face just grew now. He remembered how much he liked toying with her. Getting on her nerves was always something he loved to do. It was his forte. Damon sat his glass down on the bar and walks up the entrance grabbing his favorite leather jacket from the hook next to the door.

"Let's see what kind of look she'll give me this time by giving her a surprise visit", Damon said to himself. With that he was out the door.
