OK, so did the 20 of you who read this enjoy it? I hope so. Well, here's another chapter. There will only be 2 references.
Doctor John Hammond POV
"everyone clear a path! We have a VIP patient in need of immediate surgery!" I yelled as we rushed the man to the emergency surgery room. He had barely survived the latest attack from the ghost and somehow managed to get into town with a broken back, until someone called 911.
we hadn't bothered to tell the police yet, because by the time we got to the guy we were sure he was going to die anyway. As we entered the room, the surgins got to work and I put on a mask so I could help. I was convinced to save this man though, because he may have seen the ghosts face.
And if he has, then the police could get a description and maybe catch the guy. After several hours we were able to stabilize his condition. "someone get me the head detective on the phone" I yelled out. We have our first survivor. His eyes started to open, and he opened his mouth to say something. "g...g...Grimm" then he passed out.
Knight POV
looks like they found one of the men I attacked last night. The others must still be unconscious or paralyzed because I left them all alive. I guess I'm going to need a cover, because if the police find out there's an unnamed man living in a hotel he owns, then I'm going to need an alibi, which I don't have. I'm not on record, so that means I'm also not rich.
I Know! I'll apply to beacon Academy under the name Rise Forester. I pressed in the combination for my weapon cabinet and grabbed out my special killer.
A huge black sniper rifle capable of firing 70. caliber dust infused explosive/mercury tipped rounds. It has a triangular shaped scope complete with 30 kilometer zoom, ultra violet vision, heat vision, and a laser pointer. Plus the built in grappling hook. Its also a 40 kilo breaker class long sword if I press and hold the yellow button. If you get shot by this, it don't matter where your hit, your dead! Its also a very messy way to die if I'm using explosive tipped rounds.
Classes start back up again this afternoon, so that means if I apply today with fake transcripts, then I can be in the next initiation by this evening. Which of course I will pass. After all, I'm technically a student already. I shed my current clothing and looked at myself in the mirror for a second.
My black messy hair did a good job of hiding my flattened cat ears. With the black hair, and my blood red cat eyes it almost looked like I was some sort of Grimm. I put contact lenses on, and my eyes suddenly became human, but still red.
I opened my drawer of extra clothing, and grabbed all that I needed. Unfortunately, it was also all black. I started with the tactical black boots, and metal plated fingerless black leather gloves. I put on dark navy blue pants, and left the lightweight body armor on.
I might actually have to replace it, because there are multiple bullets lodged inside. I plucked them out, and simply flattened the metal outside with my thumb. I grabbed a belt with clip pockets and put it on. I grabbed a couple dozen extra clips for my sniper, and stuffed them inside. I also put in a couple fire dust grenades, and ice grenades for emergencies.
And I grabbed my experimental weapon. A handle that blades fold out of the top and bottom to create a bow staff capable of manipulating dust. It also has a built in dust revolver for special moves. And, it has a voice activated safety function. If I say defensive mode it becomes a normal non lethal bow staff.
But as a handle, it was small enough to fit in my pocket. I just attached it magnetically to a clip on my belt and let it hang there. Now I just have to forge some papers to get me in. to the police station!
Timothy Branch POV
"go left at this next turn." he told me. I had the supposed sole survivor of the second ghost attack. He was leading me and three other police officers to the scene of the crime. We pulled into a bakery. I got out, and drew my gun. The others did the same, and I kicked in the door. We rushed in guns at the ready, to find a room full of fauness laying on the ground.
I rushed over to one and checked his pulse. "he's alive!" the others did the same. "these ones too" they told me. I stood up and speed dialed the paramedics and some back up. After which I investigated an old TV monitor at the back of the room. "hey guys, come check this out." I turned it on, and an image matching the assassins description of ghost flickered to life.
"hello detective. I left these criminals for you alive this time, and I bet your wondering why" he said. Damn, I can't see anything under that hood. I guess his face on camera would just be too good to be true. "I don't like killing other fauness, in fact I hate it. I only killed those first few simply because they walked into the wrong place at the wrong time. I had no sure fire way to keep them from telling my secret. Besides, they deserved it."
so he's a fauness, eh? That helps. And he only kills to conceal his identity. Well, I guess if I don't want to die, I shouldn't look at his face unless he's in cuffs. "oh, and the white fang shouldn't be bothering you here in vale for a while if their response to my message is anything to go by." the TV shut off. and he can communicate with the white fang.
A fauness who Has connections in all the right places, and is not afraid to get his hands dirty. If I didn't know any better I would say he's a previous white fang member. This will definitely make the search easier. I heard the sirens of ambulances outside. "okay, you three stay here and help clean things up. I'm going to take a look around."
I walked around. As I walked, something crunched under my boot. Broken glass. I looked up. Just as I thought, the window was slightly broken, and ajar. Looks like we know where he made his entrance. I ventured out of the storage room into the kitchen. Red sand? It was all over the floor. but that's not all. there were boot prints left behind. And where he made his exit.
Size 9 by the looks of it. Perhaps he has left a clue behind in here or the dining area. I opened the fridge. There was hundreds of black rose petals scattered around inside, and a single lit candle in the middle of it. How that flame hasn't disappeared is a mystery to me. I walked into the dining room and found hundreds, no thousands of small wooden crates of dust.
These can be used to resupply the stores. Its not like we don't know who stole them already. I walked back into the storage room. The wounded rebels were being loaded into medical vehicles. How in the hell can he take on so many people at once? I wonder... I scanned the room and quickly found the fuse box. Just like that guys sniper rifle, knife shaped hole right in the center.
Then the lights must be going off of the backup, which takes a good minute to start up. So he uses the darkness to move unseen and immobilize any real threats. Smart. Must be what he did at the docks. Speaking of which, one thing still doesn't make sense. He only uses knifes, and chains from what evidence and witnesses tell us, but there was an untraceable silver bullet casing at the first scene. Is there a second ghost? plus the sand. that doesn't make a lick of sense either.
Coco Adel POV
I walked down the halls of beacon toward our third year dorm room. I had just gotten back from my favorite and newly rebuilt clothing store, and was planning on relaxing for the rest of the day, but of course, the universe had this funny way of taking something and shoving it right back in my face. As I was walking, I turned a corner, and bumped into someone. We both fell over, and my merchandise fell to the ground.
In an instant he was back on his feet, and offered his hand to me. "my apologies. I'm new here, I don' really know my way around very well." I took his hand, and he pulled me to my feet. He began picking up my bags for me. "here, I'll help you get your things back to your dorm room"
" I'll be fine, thank you. so your one of the initiates, then. Nice to meet you, the name's Coco" I said. He gave me the bags of clothing, and picked up my handbag and gave it to me. "this is a weapon, isn't it? Its got a little weight to it." he handed it over. I nodded. "hey, if its alright with you would ya mind showing me around sometime?"
"of course. Assuming you survive the initiation" I joked. "eh, its Just a forest of murderous animals that are three times my size attacking in swarms. Sounds like my family on the weekend" he joked back. "hey, I never caught your name" he smiled. "Forester. Rise Forester." A speaker in the hallway announced that the initiation would start soon. "gotta go" and he ran off. seems like a nice guy.
2 hours later...
Rise Forester POV
"For years you have trained to..." blah blah blah. Same speech every year. Seriously, Ozpin. Mix things up a bit once in a while, it might be good for you. "you will find a temple at the end of the path, containing several relics. Each pair must choose one, and return to the top of the cliff. We will guard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?" I wanted so badly to crack a joke, but most of my jokes aren't even relevant yet.
"um, yes. Are there any-" the young man beside me tried to ask. "good, now take your positions" the first launcher went off. I kneeled on one knee, and prepared for it to be my turn. The guy beside me launched, and then so did I. I sped through the air, until just before I broke the treeline. I manipulated the wind to slow me to a stop. I began to hover in mid air. "cool."
I created a wind tunnel ahead of me, and jumped forward out of the hover with my arms at my sides. The tunnel shot me across the forest, creating the illusion that I was flying. Within a minute I had made it to the temple. I dropped from the air, and landed without much trouble. I walked over to the ruins, and grabbed a red dagger. I guess I have some time to kill before I can get a partner. I hovered up, and sat myself a top a tree.
I pulled out LTYNS, and positions myself so I could snipe. I zoomed in at a certain part of the forest I heard gunfire from, and took aim at one of the Grimm. I pulled the trigger, and a second later, the Ursa's torso had been completely blown out. The remaining limbs fell to the ground, slowly being incinerated by the burning hot mercury lined shrapnel. I saw two figures walk into view.
One was a blond girl, with violet eyes and a small barely noticeable scar over her left eye. The other was a blond girl with short hair, red tips, and a slightly different shade of violet eyes. I assume they knew that the temple was here, because they started heading my way. I heard some rustling in the bushes below me, and I dropped down, behind them.
I walked out into the clearing again, and made eye contact with a man who's hair was so silver, it might as well have been a mirror. His eyes were a deep navy blue. "hello, partner. Name's Rise Forester" I stuck my hand out, and he shook it. "good to meet you. I'm Kurt Silver. My friends tend to call me old man." I chuckled. "I can see why. Run into much trouble on the way here?"
"can't say that I did. Not much anyways." I heard a roar in the distance. "well, looks like its our lucky day, because trouble is coming by the sky way in a six pack." suddenly, four giant Nevermore's flew into view and shot thousands of feathers at us. We managed to dodge them all, and I jumped towards Kurt. He seemed to get the message, and caught me, and threw me at one of the birds.
I shot at it with the combined force of Kurt's throw and my wind tunnel. I put my fist forward, and I collided with the huge bird like a bullet tearing through flesh until I came out the other side. I began to hover, and the two girls I helped before dashed into the clearing with the last two Nevermore's and a death stalker on their tail.
I lowered myself to the ground, and used my spear staff {I just came up with the name} and used it as a boomerang. I threw it, and it sliced several gargantuan feather clean through, keeping them from hitting either of the women. It kept going, and lodged itself into a tree. The girls caught up with us, and we retreated to a safer position.
"welcome to the party, ladies. How good are you at fending off giant murderous scorpions?"
"I'm afraid we haven't had real life experience till now. My name is Sarah by the way." the girl with the scar said.
"and my name is Isabell. Were from Mistral, top of our class."
"I hate to say it, but the formalities will have to wait. Right now we need to move before that stinger hits us" we dodged out of the way of the stinger, and several feathers. "we need to get out of here, were not even technically first years yet. Were zero years." Kurt said as we dived behind another rock. "not yet, but we can take them. Besides, other students will be here soon, and they will have no idea what their walking into. They could die"
the others considered what I said. "okay, what can we do?" Isabell asked. "show me your weapons" I ordered. Sarah unsheathed two single handed long swords, and Isabell pulled out a double barrel rocket launcher. "it self replenishes ammo" Isabell explained. Kurt had a compact bow, with large blades on each end along with hundreds of arrows in his quiver. I grabbed Sarah and pulled her aside as a stinger pierced the earth where she had been moments ago.
The death stalker picked up the stone and tossed it away as if it was a child discarding a toy it had grown bored of. We ran towards more ruins at the edge of the cliff. "Isabell, hit that damn bug with everything you have, while you, Sarah sneak behind it and cut off its stinger. Me and Kurt will keep the birds off your backs, until you can help us kill them."
everyone rushed to do as they were told, and the battle began. I switched LTYNS to its long sword form. Me and Kurt dodged and sliced like crazy keeping the feathers away. There were so many. Maybe we could use them to our advantage. "Kurt, try catching some of the feathers, and throwing them at the death stalker to distract its attention from the girls."
he nodded, and repeatedly threw them at the bug, until it got so mad it charged at us completely forgetting about Sarah and Isabell. Sarah jumped up, and sliced the stinger clean off, while I grabbed another feather and drove it into the creatures eye. It screamed out in agony, and Isabell shot the stinger with a rocket driving it deep enough into the bugs head to kill it.
I wind tunneled to my spear staff, and back in a second. "lets pick them off one at a time. Lets begin with the one that's circling back for another go." I began to hover, and it didn't go unnoticed by the other three. "you know, Rise...it would have been nice to know that you can fly." technically, I couldn't until I touched that one assassin guy. The dude has a semblance that allows him to fly and he doesn't even know about it.
That's my semblance. When I touch someone, I gain their abilities. I'm kinda like a semblance sponge, whenever I make contact with another person with an above average aura I can unlock a new power. Although sometimes they take a while to fully master. "well, now you know. Lets get em." Isabell fired several rockets, and Kurt fired arrow after arrow. A few seconds went by, and the bird went down.
Another Nevermore came at us from behind and swooped down, at us but we all rolled to the sides. The bird picked up nothing but dirt, and screeched out in annoyance. I switched LTYNS back to sniper, and with one shot straight through its heart, the Grimm was dead. Three down, three to go. I noted that one of the had an excessive amount of bone plating on its head. I soon realized why.
The Nevermore dive bombed us, and even though no one was hit directly, the rock and dirt chunks bruised some of us pretty badly despite our aura. It recovered quickly, but not quickly enough to escape my spear staff plunging into its chest. The fifth one was easy, Sarah threw one of her swords at it, and impaled its throat. But where had six gone?
Number six swooped from behind, and its claws cut through my cheek, and grabbed my gun. And it flew off. My cheek healed pretty quickly, but still left a scar. When I realized that it had my gun, I was suddenly enraged. Through clenched teeth, I spoke. "Sarah, whats your semblance?" she looked at me curiously. "lightning. I can channel it through my arms, and if I so choose, into my weapons."
that's all I needed to hear. I walked over, and touched her on the shoulder. Then, I waited for the Nevermore to come back. When it did, I shot up into the air blocking its path. Just as I predicted, the stubborn creature kept to its path, and my hand started to crackle, and emit sparks and flashes of light. I reared my arm back, and just at the right moment I punched the overgrown turkey right between the eyes.
The impact of my punch, combined with the aura put into it and the electrical supercharge caused its head to implode, and blow the whole bird up. I flew down and grabbed my gun before it could fall, and I returned to my probable team. Their faces were priceless. Mouthed gaping, eyes wide. I had to give each of them a small electrical shock to snap them out of it after I retrieved my spear staff.
"so, does anyone want a lift back to the cliff top?"
Professor Ozpin POV
"very impressive. They fight as if they are already third year huntsmen in training. And they are the first to successfully complete the initiation in under an hour." this could turn out to be the most exciting four years as headmaster yet. Not just team RWBY, but now team RISK as they were to be called. Very impressive indeed.
There you have it, the second installment of stranger with a rose. I bet you didn't see any of that coming! I hope you enjoyed, and if you did review and favorite and all that jazz. But, I'm pretty tired so imma gunna sleep now.
