Chapter 2: Walks and Talks

WOW thank you! To everyone who's followed and Favorited me and this story... I've been busy writing chapters because I know in my last 2 month of college I'll be really busy. But I couldn't wait for April 1ST to give you another chapter, so here you go! Review, hope you guys like it.

Clarke pulled on her jacket and boots before slipping out of the tent being careful not to wake Octavia. The air was crisp and felt nice on Clarke's damp skin, Octavia had smothered her with blankets trying o make Clarke as comfortable as possible. While that was nice and all Clarke was feeling better and wanted to just be by herself for a few minutes.

"Clarke?" Miller asked from his post on the wall.

Clarke looked up surprised to find someone out here, she'd forgotten that after the threats from the grounders Bellamy had made night patrol mandatory.

"Everything clear out there?" Clarke asked.

"Yea, Shouldn't you be resting?"

Clarke wanted to roll her eyes, this is ridiculous. She'd just had a little spill she wasn't walking on broken legs or anything.

"No I'm fine, I just need to be outside for a little while." Clarke smiled politely making her way over to the wooden logs that surrounded a dying fire.

"You trying to catch a cold Princess?" Bellamy took a seat beside Clarke "You should be in your tent."

Clarke rolled her eyes "I'm fine, how many times do I need to tell you people that. I'm the doctor I think I know wither I'm ok or not."

Bellamy smirked shaking his head, Clarke was always so stubborn but it seemed more so when it had something to do with him, Ever since their trip to the bunker he and Clarke had been more level headed with each other when it came to the hundred but they still seemed to get into stupid fights for no reason.

"You never do what you're told."

"I wouldn't have been sent down here if I did." Clarke sighed "What are we going to do about the grounders?"

"I've already doubled up patrols and if people leave camp they go with a gun or someone who has one. There's nothing we can do, the grounders hate us because we killed people with those flairs, we've tried to make peace but they aren't having it."

"We can't just live like this, waiting for the other shoe to drop." Clarke's head felt fuzzy as sleep hit her, shifting so that she could lean her head on Bellamy's shoulder.

The leaders stayed outside for a while just in silence until Bellamy decided to carry a sleeping Clarke back into her tent laying her down, being sure not to bump Octavia. Pulling the covers up over Clarke, Bellamy found himself staring at her face liking how peaceful she looked, her face was soft and unworried by the problems they have to face. Hearing her sister stir Bellamy made his way back to his own tent spending the rest of the night thinking about a certain blonde co-leader.

.

"Clarke, I need to talk to you." Finn said entering the Drop ship where Clarke was organizing her materials.

It was almost a week since Clarke and Bellamy had their talk around the fire and thankfully things had been going smoothly. There had been no trouble from the grounds and no problems going around the camp for the most part.

"Not now Finn." Clarke sighed not even bothering to look at him.

Sure since their night in the bunker and Raven coming down Clarke had been trying to avoid him and was doing a good up until their river trip last week.

"Clarke please I just want to talk, Raven is out with Monty right now and-" Clarke held her hand up silencing Finn.

"You're talking to me because it's safe now with your girlfriend out of camp, do you have any idea how deranged that sounds."

Clarke turned to climb into the upper level of the drop ship but Finn came up behind her and grabbed her sides Clarke groaned in pain. Finn pulled his hands back to his sides. muttering "sorry"

"Finn we barley know each other, we had sex because we both needed someone and now your girlfriend is back on the ground and I get it, it's fine. I'll continue to leave you two alone and I expect you to do the same for me."

"It's Bellamy isn't it?" Finn said his eyes cold.

Clarke still for a moment angry, just because she didn't want him didn't mean she was sleeping with other people.

"This has nothing to do with anyone except for Raven, she flew down her in a tin can hopping to see you again. She deserves better than what she came down here too and as far as I'm concerned, she never needs to know." Clarke said continuing her climb to the second level, closing the hatch behind her.

.

The days were starting to get longer as the weather got warmer which was a plus because that meant there were more hours in a day to get stuff done but that also meant there was more time in the day to avoid Finn. It was getting harder to stay away from Finn mostly because when Clarke would be working on a patient in the drop ship he would come by and "help." Other time's Clarke would be sitting around the fire at night and Finn would come over and start a conversation. Something that would look like a normal innocent chit chat to anyone watching but Clarke knew what Finn was trying to do. He was trying to get closer to her in a space where she couldn't blow him off without people taking notice.

.

"Bellamy." Clarke called as a warning before ducking into the command tent where Bellamy and a few of the patrol men stood around looking at a map. "I'm getting out of camp today, I'll be back before night fall." Clarke ducked back out of the tent walking away. Hoping Bellamy would just let her go but from the sound of the fast foot falls coming closer to her she knew he hadn't.

"Freeze Princess, you're barely recovered you're lucky I'm even allowing you out of bed and you want to go on a stroll in the woods?" Bellamy shook his head folding his muscular tan arms across his toned chest.

Clarke chucked in mock amusement "I'm sorry you allow me? I'll see you in a couple hours Oh mighty leader." Clarke turned on her heels but Bellamy grabbed her upper arm swinging her right back around.

"You think I'm playing around? Clarke you are not leaving this camp." Bellamy's words were final which made Clarke's blood boil,

How dare he think he can boss me around tell me what to do! Clarke glared up at him but Bellamy stood strong and was obviously not going to back down. They were inches away from each over and neither one seemed to be backing down, it was the third party that they hadn't noticed who broke the thick silence.

"Geez mom dad tone it down a little, and Clarke I need to see you about what we discussed earlier." Octavia said taking hold of Clarke's arm, Octavia had been nervous to take to Clarke since either this morning but hadn't had a chance.

Nether Clarke nor Bellamy acknowledged her for a couple of seconds before Clarke finally pulled her eyes away from Bellamy's , blinking rapidly.

"Come on we'll go talk in the drop ship." Clarke didn't look back but she could feel Bellamy's eyes on her all the away until she disappeared into the drop ship.

"So you and my brother have been getting into more arguments than not these days huh?" Octavia mentioned while climbing up onto the makeshift operating table.

"He's being an unreasonable ass hole." Clarke grumbled gentle sliding onto the table beside Octavia careful not to rip her stitches. As annoying as they were she'd be getting them out in a few days and after that she'd be heading back into the woods with or without Bellamy's knowledge.

"He's being protective over you." Octavia said smiling slyly at Clarke.

Clarke shook her head she didn't want to think about him right now all it was doing was making her mad.

"Let's talk about you, how'd your visit with Lincoln go?"

At the mention of the grounders name Octavia smiled "Clarke he's so sweet and the sex is mind blowing, god the way he moves his fingers over my body-" Octavia stopped abruptly remembering where she was and who she was talking too. But Clarke did nothing more than smile up at the young girl who wasn't much younger than she was.

"It's ok O your what 17 and Lincoln is... what 28? Plus I'm not your brother. thank god for that. I don't mind hearing the dirty details of your love affair, as long as we don't talk positions I'm all ears."

The girls started laughing at that, Clarke had been a virgin when she'd come down here and other than her experience with Finn that's all she knew. Much like Octavia.

"Well what about you?"

"What about me?" Clarke blushed looking down, Finn was her first but since Raven came down she'd tried not to think about it and how much of a big deal it was that after she'd lost her virginity the next morning whatever that relationship might have been was over. At least on her end Finn obviously didn't think the same.

"I know you and Collins, which is totally our little secret but have you and Bellamy ever-?"

"OCTAVIA!" Clarke smacked the young girls arm "A that is your brother and B what makes you think that Bellamy and I are sleeping together?"

"I don't know he's all protective over you now and you guys spend a lot of time together as leaders We all just assumed-"

"We all? What does the whole camp think we're hooking up?"

Octavia trying to hide her laughter at Clarke's expression failed miserably.

"This is unbelievable." Clarke shook her head, she was running a camp of preschoolers.

"Don't worry Clarke I believe ya not much I can do about the whole camp tho."

"Hey ladies what's going on." Jasper smiled entering the drop ship "And Clarke Finn was looking for you earlier."

Of course he was Clarke thought inwardly rolling her eyes.

"His girl friend is down here, Clarke you must be a fire ball in bed if he's still obsessing over you. You know I don't even think him and Raven have done it since she got down here."

"Yea well he does have a girlfriend and for some reason he can't get it into his thick skull that I'm not interested."

"But you were."

"Not since I found out about Raven."

Jasper spoke up "He really didn't mention her at all?"

Clarke shook her head standing up and moving towards the exit. "Doesn't matter now, I need to go dry out some sea weed, if anyone needs me you know where I'll be."

.

"Clarke!" Bellamy bellowed.

"What!?" Clarke snapped staring up at him from her stretched out position on the hard ground.

"A grounders outside the gate-" Bellamy fumed.

Clarke scrabbled to her feet, fear slithering its way into her heart.

"What does he want is there more coming why is he here?" Clarke could help it has the words just fell from her mouth.

"He's here for you says he knows you." Bellamy watched realization flicker in Clarke's eyes as she rushed past him towards the gate.

"PUT YOUR GUNS DOWN AND OPEN THE GATE!" Clarke yelled moving through the bodies until she reached their gate, waiting for them to comply with her orders but they didn't instead they looked behind her at Bellamy.

"Keep the gate closed!" Bellamy ordered to the group before talking directly to Clarke. "Who the hell is out there?"

"Nate he's a grounder I met while out collecting berries."

Bellamy ground his teeth together jaw tight.

"Well what the hell is he doing here?"

Clarke narrowed her eyes "Well I would know that if these idiots didn't listen to you more than they listened to me."

Bellamy kept his eyes on Clarke "OPEN THE GATE."
