Chapter One:
Light crept in through the wide opening of the mountain top cave. Just outside of it, a pterodactyl flew by; it carried food in it's mouth for it's nest nearby. The wind blew gently, and with it, it wasn't as warm as it could be. Winter was dawning on Earth.
"No, no, no..." came a frightened voice from the cave's entrance.
Just by it's opening stood a young woman. She had a cloth material wrapped around her chest to cover her breast, and the same wrapped around her lower waist and thighs, like shorts. Not one peice was any sort of real clothing. The sun grazed her skin; her green skin. She pulled back from the heat of the sun, and dipped back into the shadows. She struggled to keep her power level suppressed. She told herself, maybe, if she didn't breathe she wouldn't be discovered. Then the rational part of her mind would kick in, and remind her that it was a foolish thought.
The young woman pressed her pointed ears against the cool stone wall of the cave, and listened to the sounds outside the mountain. She could hear him. He was close, too close. His anger hadn't subsided. "Ru..." she whispered into the air.
As the fear crept back into her chest, she turned her head to stare at her bare feet. She timed the sounds she heard, and calculated the distance between them. She figured it would be two minutes before he would have found the cave's entrance, and if he did plan to, he would kill her. Again, she held her breath.
"Dai!" she heard a voice yell from nearby, "Daiiiii." It taunted.
It was him. It was Ru. She peaked her face outside just enough to see him. He was close, very close. His long black hair flowed as the wind blew, as did the folds of his pants and long shirt sleeves. His pale face was drawn up into something cruel, and angry. His mouth had twisted into the most evil of grins. He hadn't changed his clothes in days it seemed; his shirt still bore the symbol of the Red Ribbon Army. "Dai!" he called again.
"Damn it." she cursed under her breath, and pushed herself further into the cave. She pressed her power as far into her belly as she could, but she knew it was no use. He was the only one who knew her, of her power. If it wasn't for him, she wouldn't be alive. So why, Why kill me?
"Ru!" She screamed at the top of her lungs before flying out of the cave slowly. She hovered just near the entrance, incase she needed to run in and blow the entrance shut; she needed guaranteed shelter. She lost count of how many days she had been running from him.
"There you are, little one." Ru said. His eyes glowed a malicious red.
Dai closed her hands into tight fists near her sides. The red curls on top of her head swirled and moved about the two green antennas that sprouted up near her forehead. With her lack of clothing, she grew cold very quick. "Leave me alone, Ru." she said.
Ru shook his head and laughed. The sound of his laughter carried through the wind and over the mountain, and disturbed a nest of birds nearby. "Silly girl," he said, "This is foolish. Come back home, and we will finish this appropriately."
"What home?" she said, "We've lived in a cave!"
"Why the home of Dr. Gero, of course!" Ru cackled.
Dai slowly floated in the opposite direction from the man in front of her. She never took her eyes off of him. "This isn't you, Ru." she said, there was sadness in her voice, "He has you. His... his thing!"
Ru only laughed at the girl's cries. In mocking fashion, he had started to fly circles around her slowly. "His thing?" he said.
Dai followed Ru with her eyes. Inside, she was conflicted. Ru had always been a friend to her, a protector. He kept her warm, fed; he educated her. He showed her the truths of the world, and the truth behind her existence. Yet, as he flew circles around her, she feared him. She didn't want to fight him, or hurt him in any way. The minute he had begun his chase days before, she had fled. She knew, somehow deep down in her friend, his original self was there. The override from Dr. Gero had to be temporary. "Ru!" she yelled at him.
"I wish you would stop calling me that." He said as he suddenly stopped. He hovered from her, just a few feet away. His eyes still bared their red glow. "My name is Z."
"Android Z..." she whispered.
"That's right." Ru said, and nodded his head. Again, the evil grin twisted his lips, "Maybe I should end this now. I have other things to attend to."
"No!" She fully faced him as she hovered, still, near the entrance of the cave, "You can't do this."
"Foolish girl," he said in a low voice. "The army has been assembled. Earth stand's no chance. You only stand in my way!"
"Why?" she asked, "Why? Because I know the truth?"
It was then that Ru pulled back his right arm, and shot a Ki blast in Dai's direction. With her quick reflexes, she dodged the attack and flew up into the clouds. I can't believe it... he really did it, She thought to herself. Beneath her, she heard another blast head in her direction. "The army is ready!" he said again, "You will only get in my way!"
I know, Ru... She looked down between the clouds to see the Android who was once her friend. As the wind blew the clouds away, she saw his face; it still sported nothing but anger, and evil. She sucked in air, and filled her chest. Her mind raced with a million thoughts. She couldn't run, not anymore. Not that he was so close, and knew exactly where she was. If she tried to run and hide, he would find her within hours, or sooner. She couldn't run to the people of Earth, and beg for help; not only was she half naked, but she also had the complexion and physical appearance of an alien. They too, would probably want her dead. It hit her then that there was only one other place for her to go. I will try and save you, Ru...
She didn't say a word to him. With a blast from every ounce of energy she had, she darted up and around the sky; she flew due north. She could hear him scream her name behind her, but only for a moment. This was the fastest she had flown her entire life. The new sound was deafening. But she was strong willed, and knew what needed to be done. With her ears, she listened out for voices and names; anything that sounded familiar to her. She knew no one, only Ru, but he had told her countless stories as she grew up. She knew who she needed to find... she prayed it would be easy. And to her luck, it fell on her lap.
In the distance, just north west of the direction she already flew, she heard it. A name. Someone calling someone else.
"Pic..Piccolo..." she whispered as she heard the name buzz in her ear. She thanked the Namekian's for her heightened sense of hearing. Again, she heard the voice;
Hey Piccolo! Gohan's looking for you!
"Gohan's looking for you..." she repeated in a whisper. With all her might, she burst her flight in their direction.
She hoped they didn't think she was crazy. She prayed, really prayed with all her might, that they wouldn't deem her an enemy.
Please, will you all help me...
