Chapter 2: Another GREAT Prophecy
Jake's POV
As the light disappeared, I looked around at good ole PA. Yup, the place is still as grand as ever I thought. I looked at my nephew.
"So? What do you think of the place the gods locked us away to? Pretty sweet eh?" I asked.
"It IS pretty cool. Could need a more modern touches here and there, but all in all, everything looks nice." Percy replied. I nodded. After seeing what the world was like now compared to so long ago, it was incredible what a difference PA is compared to New York. The six of us made our way to our main building. I opened the door and allowed the others to walk in before me. We came to a large statue of Prometheus; the titan of forethought.
"Perseus, please kneel here." David said pointing at a cushion. Percy looked kind of uneasy so I smiled at him.
"This is kind of like where we get our prophecies. You have your Oracle while we have Prometheus. When you kneel on the cushion, you will receive a prophecy that only you can hear." Percy nodded and kneeled on the cushion.
Percy's POV
As soon as my knees touched the cushion; I blacked out.
*INSIDE MY HEAD*
Prometheus' image appeared.
"Young demigod. You have finally arrived." He spoke. "Very well. It is time for you to hear the greatest prophecy so far. Are you ready for it?" I nodded.
"Very well. The prophecy is as followed.
The son of the sea god has arrived at last
He will kick-start this race out of the past
Together with seven he will venture out
To discover what this war is all about
He must learn about secrets that lay down below
He must venture elsewhere where no one wants to go
His group, now reduced, shall race to the peak
There, they will discover the source of the leak
The Sky Lord and the Sky King will become one
Beware, this process cannot be undone
Once joined, the Sky King will make the Lord switch
This part of the journey will be a bitch
Demies alike must unite
Whether Roman, Greek, Titan or God, they all must fight
For without one group, Chaos shall arise
And if that occurs, it would be the world's demise."
The image of Prometheus started to fade as a slowly stirred on the real world. I opened my eyes and looked at the demititans.
"You're not going to like this prophecy." I muttered. They looked confused.
"What? Couldn't hear you. Speak louder please." Natalie urged.
"I said you're not going to like this prophecy." I repeated. The demititans looked at each other with worry.
"Can you tell us what the prophecy said. The EXACT words. Not being prideful or anything but we demititans tend to figure out prophecies better then demigods." Jake said. I repeated the prophecy for them to hear. Word for word I might add.
"This is not good. This is definitely not good." Luna said quickly. The others nodded.
"We must call a council meeting now." Jake muttered.
(Time skip 3 hrs)
Every demititan in the camp was gathered here in the Prophecy Room (which I learned was what this room was called) to discuss the new prophecy.
"Percy, please recite the prophecy." Jake demanded. I complied and recited it word for word. Murmurs sounded across the crowd, but fewer than with the Greeks and Romans. I was impressed.
"Let's get to business first." Jake said to the crowd. "We must figure out what this prophecy is talking about."
"The first lines: The son of the sea arrived at last is talking about Percy, the son of Poseidon and how he came to PA. The next line: He will kick-start this race out of the past. It's been a long time since we had a new prophecy so I'm guessing the race is talking about demititans and Percy's arrival brought us a new prophecy." Bob announced. He then turned to look at Luna to continue.
"The next lines: Together with seven he will venture out to discover what this war is all about is also pretty straight forward. Believably, it is stating that Percy, along with six others, will go out on a voyage to discover the roots of this war." Luna continued. "The next two lines, however, are slightly more confusing: He must learn about secrets that lay down below and He must venture elsewhere where no one wants to go." A person from the crowd put her hand up.
"What if there are beings older than the titans? Like the Primordials? Like Kronos' parents and siblings and cousins?" She asked. The five leaders looked at each other. It was a possible answer.
"You may be on to something. What is your name?" Jake asked kindly.
"Rosa Holmes, daughter of Phoebe." The girl said. Jake nodded. Of course a daughter of the titan of mysteries would be one of the first to figure this out.
"Thank you for your input Rosa. We will look into your answer afterwards. For now, we must proceed with examining the prophecy." Jake smiled. Rosa smiled back, happy to be known by the son of Kronos.
"As for the next two lines: His group, now reduced shall race to the peak. There, they will find the source of the leak. We believe that some of his original group of seven will either die or turn back at a certain point leaving the rest to continue on. The peak is probably somewhere tall so probably on the top of a mountain or cliff. The source of the leak could be another water source, but based on what the prophecy is talking about, we assume the leak is a double agent working for the opposition." Jake reasoned. The crowd nodded, seeing Jake's logic to his reasoning.
"The Sky Lord and Sky King will become one. Beware, for this process cannot be undone. These lines are referring to the joining or connection of two sky deities. One is presumably Zeus as he is the current "Lord of the Sky" but the Sky King is unknown at the moment." Natalie said while looking for suggestions. No hands went up so we continued on with the prophecy.
"Once joined, the Sky King will make the Lord switch. This part of the journey will be a bitch. These lines indicate that the Sky King will make the Sky Lord switch sides. Say Zeus is the Sky Lord; that would make the Sky King evil and this will make Zeus switch to the dark side. The second line of this part shows that this action, this switch, will cause a burden on our side because of the loss of support from the sky." David explained. Once again, the crowd nodded. Wow. I thought, This group is so much more organized than the gods, Greeks OR the Romans! There's barely any disagreement or arguments! I need to take notes.
"Demies alike must unite. Whether Romans, Greeks, Titan or God they must all fight. This leads us to believe that, in order for good to triumph evil, all demies, whether they are Romans, Greeks, or Demititans, we must all get along and fight side by side in order to win." I pointedly declared. At this, there were some wavers in the calm demeanor of the demititans. Whether it was because I, a son of a god, spoke, or the fact that they would have to work with, not only the Greek demigods, but also, the Roman demigods too. I finally came to the conclusion that it was probably from both reasons.
"Finally, without one group, chaos shall arise. If this occurs, it will be the world's demise. We haven't figured this out yet." Jake finished looking to the crowd for answers. There were no hands up. I thought about the way Prometheus had said "Chaos". It was like he was putting more emphasis on the word. Then, the way Jake had said it. It sounded different as if the word chaos was not as important as Prometheus had pointed out.
"Jake, I think the word "chaos" should have a capital C. the way Prometheus said it in my head made it seem more important. As if this "Chaos" is a deity of some sort. Perhaps that would help?" I offered. Jake nodded as if that reminded him of something.
"It was once said that before Gaea, there was Chaos. The being who created the universe. Legend has it that Chaos was once wandering the galaxies alone when she discovered Order. They fell in love and had kids. Namely, Gaea, Tartarus, Ouranos, Nyx, Erebus and Eros. Chaos' children became the original primordials and later, Aether, Hermera, Pontus and the other primordials were born. Later, the chain continued to the titans and then the gods. Once Chaos' kids took over the world, Chaos went into slumber, never to be seen or heard from again. She only did this because her love, Order, sacrificed his body to become Earth, the original planet. It is believed that Chaos had faded away after creating more planets, however this prophecy gives hint that Chaos might still be out there somewhere. Lurking at the brink of waking up. If the Chaos in the prophecy is THE Chaos, then we must do what it takes to keep her from waking; even if that means teaming up with –"Jake paused.
"The Demigods."
