Chapter 2:
Sherlock Holmes was a man of many talents. He could have a person figured out by just a small indent on their finger, or by a particular color they were wearing or even by the way they fixed their hair. He was brilliant in all aspects of science and math. He was also a grand player of the violin, if he did say so himself. In short, he was a genius. That was a fact. Though his brother may say otherwise (he was a prat after all.). The reason behind this, being his mind palace. He had started his palace during the early stages of his teenage hood and it had progressed from there. It had provided him with a space to store his knowledge until he had use for it. This made it easier to deduct. There was one thing it couldn't provide; the power to read minds. This is what made him wary of john.
The man, from what he had seen, had just come back from a foreign country, finished from his military services. His limp, though psychosomatic, was a result from him being shot. This gave him the characteristic of bravery. Which was a nice word, people used for stupidity. The man was obviously a risk taker. The man didn't seem to have a hidden agenda. His slumped shoulders and darting eyes gave away his self-conscious nature. But still, Sherlock felt it right to scrutinize every aspect the doctor. He had to. His Lexie was involved.
Sherlock didn't miss the look of awe that john had given her. It was the look that every man gave her, including himself. The very look, that got on his nerves each and every time. He appreciated that the doctor did nothing more than look at his darling wife. He didn't want to have to hurt the man. After all they could end up being future flat mates. And it was best to get on with the people you live with. But that didn't mean he wouldn't try anything later. Sherlock would have to give the man some ground rules if they were to live under the same roof.
"What do you think of Mr. Watson becoming our flat mate dearest?" he asked his wife. Her opinion was the only thing that mattered to him. If she did not like the idea then the doctor had to go. It was as simple as that. He didn't like it when his precious was upset. A happy Lexie was a happy Sherlock. And he did everything in his power to ensure that she was happy.
Turning her head from the window of the taxi, she looked at him with those huge emeralds and he was immediately star struck. She had this hold over him like no other.
"Was he the man from Bart's yesterday?" She asked snuggling into his body as his arm wrapped around her small body. Leaning his face into her soft curls he inhaled the scent of her hair; honey milk and jasmine. The scent sent shivers through his body. It was his favorite because it was entirely her.
"Yes, the army doctor." He mumbled into her hair.
"He seems nice, and if you've chosen him then I know I have nothing to worry about. You wouldn't let anything bad happen to me." Her words sent a surge of pride to burn inside him. She trusted him to protect her. His inner alpha pride was brimming with happiness. He didn't think he could love her any more than he did at this moment. He suddenly reached for her waist and pulled her into his lap. She automatically wrapped her arms around his neck and started to laugh as he trailed kisses up and down her neck. He was going to leave a mark on her lovely slender neck and he could care less. As animalistic as it sounded, it marked her as his.
Hearing her soft giggles he looked into her mesmerizing eyes. "I would protect you with my life." He swore. His heart skipping a beat at the way her eyes seemed to soften and the edges of her plump lips rose. "I know" she whispered, kissing his nose softly. The taxi suddenly stopped making the lovers aware of the outside world.
"Let's go meet our new flat mate love" Sherlock said grabbing his wife's petite hand and helping her out of the taxi. He then began to lead her to the flat where he saw John Watson. Just the man he needed to talk to.
