BITTERSWEET TRAGEDY
''They say that death is not a problem, it's a promise.''

Bonnie remembers the day she died like it was yesterday, she remembers the feeling of the pouring rain against her soft skin and the smell of pine trees and blood filling her nostrils as she took short and painful breaths. She remembers her limp body hurting against the cold ground and letting a few painful groans escape her colourless lips, she thinks back at the moment she felt like despite feeling useless and regretful she was finally ready to leave this world.

But she strongly remembers knowing damon salvatore was standing only a few meters from her with tears blurring his sight, she remembers his cracked voice whispering sorry's and his cursings. She felt like a sacrificial animal with a slit throat twitching on the ground and damon patiently waiting for her to take her last breath.

Her magic was sipping out of her body following the blood from her open wound leaving bonnie to die, slowly she closed her eyes as she started to listen to the sound of the pouring rain and the faint whistle of the wind. She felt a sharp pain on her left shoulder and she tried to not lean on it but ended up failing completely causing her to cry out in pain.

''I'm not the bad guy here, bonnie...''

Damon let out a dry laugh that echoed down the empty road and carved into bonnie's hollow chest; and spread over the emptiness she felt. It's a bliss she thought, to hear him laugh just once more. His laugh reminded bonnie of when damon and her used to lay on the rooftop of the boarding house with their legs tangled together and bonnie's slender finger gently stroking his palms as he spoke from the bottom of his heart and laughed in between as he shook his head.

but those happy days was clearly over.

His jaw was clenched as he thought about how his life would've been if he just turned his back on her and got back to his car and drove away. He thought about going back to the boarding house and burning every single memory of bonnie bennett that was left in the house and then wait for elena to come running through that door and into his arms. Saving bonnie was not even an option, he felt like he was glued to the ground; his muscles not following the brain's demands.

''For the love of god please..please let go.'' He pleaded, his icy blue eyes scanning bonnie's bruised face.

All bonnie could do was let out choking sounds as she slowly was drowning in rain water and her own blood, she flinched a couple of times when damon kicked a few rocks impatiently waiting for her to get tired enough to stop fighting for air which she did eventually, it took bonnie twenty four minutes before her lungs collapsed and the last thing she saw was Damon turning his back on her and walking down the empty road.

Never did she think that when her world crumbled around her and the person that she loved the most left her for death, her soul would be set free.

Such a bittersweet tragedy she thought.
