Navi and Tatl flew around the festival seeing the Kokiri children running around, laughing and playing. Navi looked and saw some Deku Nuts being sold as snacks. She went over and brought a bag and came back to Tatl. "Want some?" Navi asked holding the bag up.
Tatl looked in the bag and licked her lips at the tasty snack. "Sure." Tatl took a nut and started chewing on it as Navi popped one in her mouth as well.
Tatl saw some kids trying out a strength tester. One Kokiri tried to lift the mallet with difficulty and then slammed down on the button but only got to twenty as Mido laughed at him.
Tatl decided to try it out herself as she flew over there. Navi took notice and asked with a concerned voice "Tatl, what are you doing?"
Tatl looked back at Navi with a shrug saying "Relax, I'm stronger than I look."
Navi placed a palm to her cheek as she let out an exagushsted sigh. "Gods, is that girl cocky."
Tatl approached the strength tester and began to try and lift the mallet, of which Mido snickered at. Tatl then made a smirk and lifted the mallet up with ease, much to everyone's surprise, including Mido as the yellow fairy slammed the mallet on the switch of which caused the weight to rocket up so fast that it knocked the bell right off.
Mido's jaw dropped in disbelief as he looked at Tatl held the mallet over her shoukder and everyone clapped including Navi. Mido then grudgedly gave Tatl a prize which was a stuffed Deku Scrubb. Tatl then flee to Navi and gave the stuffed toy to her. Navi looked surprised as she gladly accepted the gift.
Navi then saw some Kokiri girls playing a Trust Builder Game as one blind folded fell backwards while the other catches her. Navi decided that she wanted to try that. She dragged Tatl by the wrist, much to the golden fairy's surprise and pulled her to where she was going.
Tatl was set into position on the stand and was blind folded while Navi stood behind her. Tatl was feeling a little nervous, as she asked "Uh... Navi? Are you sure about this?"
Navi then assured her "Don't worry, I'll catch you! Trust me." Tatl decided to do so, as she fell backwards and landed in Navi's arms. Tatl peeked through the blind folds at Navi, who looked down at her as they both giggled.
Afterwards, everyone gathered around, sitting in an audience in front of a theater. The play for tonight depicted Link's final battle with Ganondorf. Of course, Mido was performing as the evil king himself, much to his annoyance.
Nonetheless, Mido got into character and gave out an evil laugh. "I, Ganondorf the King of Evil have finally captured the wise and beautiful Princess Zelda! And once Link arrives to take the bait, I will gain the full Triforce and become unstoppable!"
Meanwhile, Tatl looked at how ridiculous Mido's costume looked and then she slightly leaned to Navi, whispering "Is that what that Ganondorf guy actually looked like?"
Navi rolled her eyes and said "Believe me, that is nowhere as intimidating as the real thing."
The Kokiri girl playing as Zelda trapped in a cage then said "You may think you have the upper hand with the Triforce of Power, Ganondorf, but without a pure heart and mind, you will only destroy yourself!"
Mido did a glare at the girl and shouted "Silence! I will not be swayed by the words of a girl who thinks she's so much smarter than everyone else!"
That's when a Kokiri boy dressed as Link with a wooded sword and shield that was painted came in. "Ho! Ganondorf! Your reign of tyranny ends here and now!"
Then another Kokiri girl dressed in a blue dress with fake blue wings was lowered by a rope. "Yeah, you tell that bully, Link!"
Seeing that caused Navi to have a weird look on her face. "Is that supposed to be me? That doesn't look anything like me!"
"Well, can you blame them?" Said Tatl with a shrug. "We're pretty small and and we glow all the time, so not a lot of people can tell what we look like unless they see us up close, with sunglasses."
As Mido threw fake balls of light at 'Link' and he deflects them back, 'Navi' spoke "Hey, listen! Deflect the balls of light back at Ganondorf!"
Navi then made a grumpy frown as she claimed "Oh, come on! That sounds nothing Like me!"
Tael then said to Navi "I don't think you're like that, Navi. I think you're pretty smart and nice."
Navi looked at Tael and smiled. "Well, thank you, Tael. You are very sweet." She then pecked a kiss on his cheek, causing the purple fairy to blush with a goofy smile.
Tatl rolled her eyes as she elbowed him and whispered to him "Little brother, you just met her and you are gonna say that as if you've known her for a while?"
"I-I was just trying to make her feel better, sis!" Said Tael.
As the play continued, Mido acted like he swatted the toy sword out of 'Link's' hand as the strings holding the sword pulled it up making it look like it was flying away and dropped it to the ground. Mido laughed as he exclaimed "You are weak and pathetic without the Master Sword, boy! Soon, I will have both parts of the Triforce reunited with my own, and Hyrule will be mine!"
Then, the Kokiri girl in the cage used a mirror to reflect light onto Mido, who shields his eyes with his arm, acting like it was effecting him. "Gah! Wh-Where is that light coming from?!"
The girl then said "Link, I'll hold the evil king off while you retrieve the Master Sword and deliver the final blow!"
"You hear her Link, let's get the Master Sword!" Said 'Navi' as the Kokiri boy nodded his head and grabbed the 'Master Sword' and pretend to ram it into Mido's gut.
Mido then let out an overly dramatic dying cry as he said "Nooooo...! How can this be?! I have been slain...! Curse you Hero of Time!" Mido then fell backwards to the ground, pretending to be dead.
The cage was then lowered down and the girl walked out of the cage. The boy then held his chest up in pride as he exclaimed "I have just saved you from Ganondorf, fair Princess Zelda!"
The girl ran to the boy, embracing him with a smile. "My hero!"
The crowed applaud as the curtains closed. Then Tatl leaned in and asked "Is that how it really happened?"
Navi looked at Tatl with a shrug and said "Well, it didn't really end that way, though I will give them credit for effort."
After the theater, Navi and Tatl continued to fly around the festival while they talked. Navi giggled and said "No, he didn't!"
"He did. My little brother is so childish, he even thought he could fly faster than a sparrow." Tatl commented. "He was lucky I was there to bail him out of there. Otherwise, he would have been a snack for the bird."
Navi smiled at Tatl as she said "You really care about your brother, don't you, Tatl?"
Tatl blushed in modesty as she said "Y-yeah, I do. After all, he's the only family I've got."
Navi then looked concerned as she asked "Wh-what do you mean?"
Tatl hesitated to answer Navi's question. She felt anxiety in her chest and stomach. "I'd rather not talk about it. It's too painful to remember." Tatl finally spoke.
Navigation took a hint that Tatl would rather not say anything about her past. So she said in sympathy "I understand. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." Navi then smiled again in hopes to cheer Tatl up. "But if I may say, Tale is very lucky to have a sister like you."
Tatl rubbed her neck and smiled back as she said "Thanks, Navi."
They then heard Skull Kid call to Tatl. "Hey, Tatl? I think Tale is getting sleepy." He said as he showed her said brother yawning and rubbing his eye.
Tatl let out a sigh as she said "Alright, I'll take him to a nearby fairy fountain for us to stay." Tatl then held Tale up in a loving embrace. "Come on, little brother. It's been a long night."
Tale then denied in a sleepy voice "But I'm not sleepy."
"Hush, Tale." Tatl said softly, cradling him in her arms.
Navi let out a yawn as well as she stated "I suppose a lot of us need to head for bed. Do you mind if I join you?"
Tatl looked at Navi, slightly blushing as she thought to herself "Navi, sleeping with us? Why do I feel so flustered at the idea of it?" Tatl snapped out of her thoughts and answered "S-sure. I would be... Err, WE would be glad if you would come with us."
"Great! Then let's go find a fountain." Said Navi as both female fairies went into the Lost Woods where they first met. They traversed through the woods, looking for any signs of a fairy fountain. Navi scratched her head as she thought aloud "This is very odd. I've been in these woods many times, and I could've sworn that there was a fountain somewhere around this spot." Navi then looked to her right and spotted a glowing light in the distance. "Ah-hah! There it is! I guess my memory's a bit foggy."
Navi then went on ahead with Tatl following behind while still carrying Tale. Once they've arrived, they saw other fairies gathering around to lay on the water. "Thank goodness. My arms were getting tired." Said Tatl as she went to the fountain and carefully placed her brother on the soothing surface.
Navi couldn't help but take in the sights of Tale sleeping in a snug position. "He looks so adorable when he sleeps!" She commented softly.
Tatl only rolled her eyes and responded "Yeah, just have to hope that he doesn't talk in his sleep. Believe me, it's annoying. And the nonsensical things he says... Ugh...!"
Navi giggled and said "How silly are they?"
"Something about marrying cinnamon rolls, being the respectful king of Deku Scrubs, blah, blah, blah." Tatl answered.
Navi then said "Speaking of Termina, I would very much like to hear of your adventures with Link."
Tatl blushed again at having to share her stories about traveling with Link before saying "Um, sure. And I would like to hear about YOUR adventures with him, as well."
"You've got a deal!" Navi then laid on the water while Tatl laid behind Tale, her arm over him in a protective manner. "Well, goodnight."
"Good night." Tatle said back as Navi closed her eyes and fell fast asleep. Tatl remained awake for a bit to observe Navi, thinking to herself "Navi looks so peaceful when she sleeps. She's without a doubt a cutie beauty." She then felt her eyelids become heavy as she placed her head down and went to sleep.
Wow, it's been a very long time since I've updated this story. In fact, I've been neglecting a lot of my stories these past couple of years. Especially my Soul Calibur story. I feel so ashamed.
Oh well. Be sure to leave comments in the reviews.
