The City Invites Insanity: Traps
Ow.
I sit up on the now cobblestone floor and rub the back of my aching head. "What just happened? One second I was zoning out, the next I'm… where… exactly…?" I looked at the area around me and noticed some very strange things. Instead of gray or even straight buildings, every structure was wobbly and splashed with the most abnormal assortment of colors, currently lit by equally abnormal dim street lights. I swear, I even thought I saw a tongue sticking out of one of the doors' mail slots.
I stood up slowly, then immediately had to bend backwards an entire 90 degrees to narrowly avoid a giant… hooked… blade…?
I fell back and landed on my ass as the thing that attacked me creeped in my direction and underneath a nearby streetlight. It was the most hideous thing I've ever seen, with decaying, stitched-up excuses of skin, a trio of similarly decayed spider-legs moving one by one, and hands replaced by blades, the hook on the left, several, and I mean several, claws like army knives on the right.
The sight itself froze me. I was frightened… horrified…
Scared…
I was going to die, just as fast as I arrived in a strange new world.
That is, until the most graceful thing freed me of this trap.
