Mario was enjoying the peaceful night in the humble town of Onett as Jigglypuff was alongside him, giving the red capped Italian plumber some company. Both of them were sitting on a wooden bench looking westward, seeing the tall, rising skyscrapers of Fourside in the distance.
"I never knew that you loved your hat so much!" Jigglypuff stated as she held her stubby pink arms together, glancing up at Mario after he explained his affection for his red cap and what happened the last time it was taken.
Mario chuckled as he moved his right hand about. "Well... you can't blame-a me. I just love my hat-a." He commented as he blinked a couple of times, being honest.
As Mario patted down his red cap a couple of times with his left hand, a random small monkey popped out of the bushes nearby, her eyes widening as she noticed how big, red, and comfy Mario's hat looked. Shrieking with joy, the monkey ran right for Mario, tackling him to the grass as she snatched up Mario's cap, running westward towards the tunnel.
"Hey-a!" Mario exclaimed as he ran right after the monkey into the tunnel in an attempt to get his hat back, only to run right back out as he was chased by an incoming truck. "Mamma mia!"
Jigglypuff gasped as she watched Mario fall through a manhole, landing in the sewer below as the truck drew over it. Jigglypuff walked over to the manhole, watching Mario emerge out of the stinky sewer water.
"Eeyuck!" Mario exclaimed as he frowned, shaking his head. "Not only did I lose my cap, but I got a dirty bath in poo water!"
"Ewww..." Jigglypuff stated as she stuck her tongue out, feeling bad for poor Mario. "That's just gross... yuck!"
Silver The Hedgehog walked past Jigglypuff, being on the sidewalk on the other side of the street as he was finishing up his typical pizza deliveries, wondering why Jigglypuff was out in the street. After delivering the last pizza, Silver glanced back at the street, to see that several speeding vehicles on both sides were approaching Jigglypuff. Acting fast, the albino colored hedgehog used his green psychic abilities to hold the vehicles in place, rushing over to Jigglypuff.
"You know, you shouldn't stay out in the street!" Silver exclaimed to Jigglypuff as he tilted his head to the right. "Why are you out here, anyway?"
"Oh, I'm with Mario." Jigglypuff explained as she pointed down at the sewer with her right hand. "This random monkey came and took Mario's hat, and then he fell into a sewer."
"...Gross." Silver admitted as he stopped using his psychic power, causing all the vehicles to drop as he looked down, placing his hands on his knees. "Hey Mario, you need help?"
"Boy, do I ever!" Mario exclaimed as he folded his arms impatiently. "The more I stand-a here smelling like poop, the lest likely I am to get-a my cap back!"
Silver pulled Mario out of the sewer using his psychic ability, setting the human plumber on the grass. Silver then plugged his nose, smelling the awful sewer material on Mario.
"Peeyew! You're gonna need a long shower!" Silver commented as he wafted the smell away from him with his right hand.
Jigglypuff nodded in agreement, her stubby hands over her mouth as she tried not to breathe in the sewer's stink.
Mario sighed as he dropped his arms, shaking his head. "Forget about it-a. Let's just get back my-a cap!" He exclaimed, running into the western tunnel again as Silver and Jigglypuff followed closely, willing to help him out as much as they could.
