As Austin ran to his room to play, Juliet pulled Shawn into the living room.

"Shawn, are you sure you're alright, Carlton told me what happened before he left."

Shawn put his hand on her shoulder. "Jules look at me, I'm perfect and my face is perfectly symmetrical. That's why you married me, I'm resilient."

Juliet rolled her eyes, but couldn't help smiling. She walked towards the kitchen to start dinner. Shawn came up behind her and began rubbing her shoulders.

"How was your day?"

Juliet moaned a little. "It was good, actually. I went to school with Austin for career day and I think the kids actually liked me."

Shawn kissed her neck gently. "Of course they liked you, sweetheart." She smiled and started cutting the chicken.

Juliet leaned up and turned on the small kitchen radio, she liked to listen to music while she cooked. Shawn spun her around to face him and began dancing with her, a ritual he picked up shortly after their wedding. He had secretly taken dance classes for weeks to dance perfectly for her. He released her so she could continue preparing dinner, but wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and swayed her gently for a while.

"Daddy, will you come play with me?" Austin had quietly slipped into the kitchen to watch his parents dance ritual.

Shawn let go of Juliet and followed Austin to his playroom. "Of course, little guy."

Life went on like normal until Shawn had mostly forgotten about the near death incident, until he woke up to a crash in the living room. Juliet rolled over, woken up by the same sound.

"What was that?"

Shawn shrugged his shoulders, frustration and confusion etched on his face.

Juliet's eyes widened. "Austin."

She silently leapt from the bed and slid her robe on over her matching nightgown. Shawn grabbed her gun from beneath her pillow and tossed it to her as she slipped out the bedroom door, gun trained. He got up and quietly followed her out. There was a muffled bump in what was possibly Austin's room. Juliet immediately lowered her gun and ran for her son. When she got to the door, she saw the silhouette of two men in Austin's room. She pulled her gun back up.

"SBPD, freeze!"

The two men scrambled for the window and jumped out. Juliet ran after them and watched as they raced through the backyard away from the house. She turned around and dropped to her knees beside Austin's bed. She caressed his face, checked his pulse, and heaved a sigh of relief knowing he was okay. She picked his sleeping body up and carried him to the kitchen. Shawn was already on the phone with Chief Vick, having already explained the situation to her, he was simply apologizing for waking her up. He hung up and went over to sit beside his wife.

"Did he sleep through all of it?"

Juliet smoothed Austin's hair and kissed his forehead. "Thankfully."

Austin mumbled something in his sleep and Juliet hugged him tighter.

The front door began jiggling, Juliet grabbed her gun off of the table and pulled Austin's head closer to her with her other hand. Lassiter ran through the door.

"O'Hara!" He looked around the room before his eyes fell on his partner with her gun trained on him. "O'Hara," he repeated as she lowered her gun back to the table. "Is everyone alright?"

A very pregnant Marlowe waddled in behind Carlton who turned and took her hand to help her to the kitchen table.

"Marlowe." Juliet looked surprised. "What are you doing here?"

Marlowe smiled, "I couldn't sleep and I'm about to blow, so…" She gestured towards her bulging stomach, to finish her sentence.

No one understood what the end of the sentence was supposed to be, so Juliet turned to Carlton to change the subject.

"Who's out there looking for them?"

Carlton placed his free hand on Juliet's shoulder, with the other being on Marlowe's shoulder. "McNab is out there, chasing those bastards."

They waited together, drinking coffee, until the sun came up and McNab walked in.

"We got 'em, guys."

Juliet, knowing that McNab voluntarily came to work this case, thanked the still new detective and gave him some coffee to drink on his way to the precinct. She laid Austin down on the couch shortly after Carlton arrived, so after seeing Buzz out she pulled Shawn into the hallway.

"Buzz said those guys looked like part of Rubikov's personal circle, Shawn. How do they know where we live?"

Shawn shook his head. "I don't know, but I promise you I will find out."

He started to walk back to the kitchen, but Juliet stopped him.

"Shawn, I think the best thing we can do right now is just get out this house, at least for Austin's sake."

Shawn nodded. "Let's just get through today first. When do you need to take Austin to school?"

Juliet glanced lovingly at her sleeping prince. "I need to get him up in a few minutes; I'm going to go get ready first."

She stood on her toes and gave Shawn a quick kiss before walking to their bedroom to put on some clothes.

After watching Juliet walk away, Shawn went back to the kitchen.

"Hey, Lassie, what sort of safety precautions should we be taking right now?"

Carlton tilted his head in thought. "Well, you may get into witness protection, especially if you testify against Rubikov so we can finally put that bastard behind bars, where he belongs."

Shawn turned around to look at his precious son. "I'll do whatever I can to keep him safe."

Carlton looked at Shawn with complete understanding as he placed his hand over Marlowe's stomach.
