(Chase's POV)

When the pups came back all I was doing was watching Apollo the Superpup. When Ryder said the mission was a success I was sad that I was the only pup who couldn't help. Zuma looked at me and sat down right beside me with a goofy smile on his face.

"Don't be upset dude you stayed up that was an accomplishment." Zuma said

"Yeah but he didn't even need me, so there was no point in staying up." I said

"Oh come on Chase you stayed up and that was what Wydew expected."

"Yeah I always have to live up to someone's expectations."

"That's how we get things done awond hewe. You don't need to be angwy because you didn't help. This happened to me once and I was completely cool with it."

I let out a heavy sigh "I guess you're right"

"That's the spiwit. Now we have to get ouwselves weady for Mayow Goodways 20th Annivewsawy party. They say people and pups can bring a date but since I don't have one me and Wocky are just gonna go as friends."

"Wait a d-d-d date!?!" I practically screamed

"Umm yeah but you have to go with youw "giwlfwiend" Evewest."

"Hey she is not my girlfriend."

"I know. I'm gonna go to bed have fun."

"Alright."

Zuma went to bed and I went in the kitchen with the rest of the pups. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood so I decided not to ruin it. I walked up and sat down beside Skye.

"What are you guys doing?" I asked puzzled

"Oh we are just helping Ryder and Katie prepare the cake for the party. Not to mention we're saving Mr.Porter some time to get other foods ready." Rubble said

I saw Zuma and tilted my head. "Umm Zuma I thought you were gonna go to bed."

"I was but then I noticed that Wydew and Katie are making cake and I had to come help."

I smiled at him because of how much he loves to help people. I am a working pup myself and don't love to help people as much as he does. I looked at Skye who was right next to me picking out decorations for the cake. She looked back at me with a cheerful smile and I could not help but smile back. Rocky looked at me and motioned me to come over it looked urgent so I got up and walked over to him.

"What's wrong Rocky?" I asked Confused

"Yeah umm Chase you know your "girlfriend" Everest?"

"She's not my girlfriend but yes we all know her."

"Well she is coming over in a few minutes and I thought I should warn you first."

"WHAT! She's coming over?"

"Yeah I just told you. And if you don't want to take her to the party with you I suppose you tell her you don't like her."

"Wait how do you know?"

"When you and Marshall were talking every pup heard you."

"Oh yeah I forgot about that." I said getting nervous

"Chase…it's not gonna be ok if you just let this happen.You know Marshall likes her and really wants to take her to the party."

"I know. But there is no way to get through to her. I keep on thinking about the right words to tell her that I don't want to be her boyfriend but I know she will cry either way." I said lowering my head

"Chase the right words don't come from your head or your brain for that matter. It comes from your heart and you know damn well that the right words are already there. I might be smart but you know sometimes I don't have all the answers. But we all are friends and most importantly we are family and we stick together through thick and thin. Through sticks and stones and even relationship problems, and that's because we all love each other. But we also love you so don't you think no matter what you say or how you say it we will always be there for you." Rocky said with his paw on my shoulder

I looked at the mixed breed pup with my eyes finally wide open. I have been so blind for the past couple of years and finally get it. I looked at Rocky with a smile and embraced him with a hug.

"Thank you Rocky I know now what to do." I said finally breaking the hug

"Your welcome now let's get finished cooking in the kitchen."

I nodded and we helped Ryder and Katie for about 20 minutes before we saw a truck I knew it was Everest and so did everyone else. The first pup out the door was Marshall as the other pups followed behind. Ryder and Katie smiled and kept stirring the cake batter. I sighed and looked at Rocky who was beside me as he nodded. I got up as me and Rocky went outside. Everest who was greeted by everyone looked at me and walked over smiling. Marshall's ears drooped down beside his head and I knew I needed to tell her sooner or later.

"Everest we need to talk." I said in a stern voice

She tilted her head "About what"

With that the pups were looking at me. Rocky smiled So I turned back to Everest and continued.

"With us."

"What…are you breaking up with me?"

"Yeah."

Everest was about to run off but I grabbed her paw and she turned around. The pups were looking surprised for a moment while rubble was eating popcorn.

"Wait before you run off I just want to talk first."

"Was it because of me we broke up?" Everest said with tears filling her eyes

"Yes and no."

Everest looked bemused as she finally sat down looking at me

"I broke up with you because I don't have feelings for you but for someone else. And by staying with you I was hurting someone who I cared about. But really I just want to be your friend."

Everest looked at Me she was hurt by my words but touched as well. All the pups looked happy and shocked at the same time they never knew that I had it in me. Ryder and Katie just put the cake in the oven and went to get the supplies to clean up.

"Okay…but what do you mean you were hurting someone by being with me?" Everest asked

When Everest said that Marshall eyes opened wide as he looked at me.

"Everest there is a pup that really likes you and his name is Marshall." I said

Everest turned to look at Marshall who was blushing madly. He sighed, walked over to Everest and stared at the ground.

"Marshall is…is that true?" Everest asked

"Y…yes. I wanted to tell you but you looked so happy being with Chase I should have told you sooner. But the truth is I love you Everest." Marshall said nervously

Everest was blushing like crazy and finally said the words Marshall had been wanting to hear.

"I love you to."

"Awwwww." The pups said

"Get a room." Rocky said

I laughed but was also touched by Marshall and Everest as both of them shared a kiss. This however actually gave me the confidence I needed to tell Skye how I really feel.

"Skye remember how you asked me who the pup I like was?" I asked

"Yeah."

"Well the pup I like is…you."

As I said that the other pups looked at me with shock for the second time because my whole years of being on the Paw Patrol I never had the courage to tell her.

"Sorry if I was coming off to quickly. It's okay if you don't want t-"

I was stopped mid sentence by Skye who pressed her lips on mine. I closed my eyes and kissed backed after a few more seconds of lip to lip contact we finally pulled away. We smiled and looked into each others eyes.

"Wow mowe excitement then needed happened today dudes." Zuma said

"Yeah like I said before get a room." Rocky said

We all laughed as we went back into the lookout and started to clean up. After the cake was finally finished we put it in a container and Katie went home. It was time for bed and I was surprise we had no missions. I walked to my Pup house and went inside it. But not before saying goodnight to everyone.

"Goodnight Marshall, Everest, Rocky, rubble, and Zuma."

I walked over to Skye's pup house as we nuzzled each other goodnight.

"I love you." I said giving her a lick on the cheek

"I love you to." Skye said licking me back

I walked to my pup house and went inside so I could fall asleep but all I could think about was Skye. I wagged my tail at the thought of us being the best couple at the party I just couldn't wait.
