I was cracking up as I wrote Cosmo's little spasm. It's probably pretty daft, but I'm trying to keep Cosmo in character as much as possible, though it's really hard for me to write him.

"Cosmo dear," Mama Cosma began as she sat next to her son, who was eating his cereal. "I really want to talk to you about something important."
Cosmo swallowed the cereal in his mouth with a gulp and looked at his mother in utter seriousness. Her tone was a little too serious and it worried him.
"What's wrong?" He asked then gasped. "Are you sick? You're sick aren't you? Don't tell me you're going to die! I'm too young to be a dolphin. Please don't die mama!"
He threw himself at her and cried.
Mama Cosma was perplexed. "What are you talking about, dear?"
Cosmo looked up. "If you die, then I'll become a dolphin, won't I?" Tears poured down his face.
Mama Cosma gave him a blank stare. This boy was so confusing at times, but he was her son and she loved him regardless.
"No, dear. You wouldn't become a dolphin. I think the word you are looking for is orphan."
"What?" His eyes grew wider. "S-so y-you are d-d-dying??!" He wailed and held her tightly. Mama Cosma patted him on the back gently.
"Oh Cosmo, no. I'm not dying. I wanted to talk to you about something else."
Cosmo let her go again and sniffed back tears. "Y-you're not?"
"No dear, I'm not dying."
"Whew, boy was I scared." He went back to eating his cereal. "So, what did you want to talk to me about?" He asked taking another big bite.
"Well, it's about you and... that Wanda girl." Mama Cosma's eyes darkened slightly.
"What about her?" He looked into his bowl and smiled at the mention of her name.
"It's just that, well, I really think you should consider other options before making a final decision on one girl."
"But mama, Wanda makes me happy. Isn't that what you wanted?" He looked up at her.
"I do want you to be happy." she reached over to grasp his arm gently. "I just don't think she's right for you."
Cosmo knitted his brows together and looked at the older woman. He couldn't understand why his mama wouldn't accept the fact that he wanted to be Wanda. She wasn't completely closed minded to the idea of him dating. She'd even tried setting him up before, on several occasions. So why was Wanda an exception?
"Mama, why do you hate Wanda so much?" He finally asked. Mama Cosma was slightly taken off guard.
"Cosmo-lolo, listen to me," She said gently. "it's not that I hate that girl per-say. It's just that, well, do you know anything about where she comes from?"
Cosmo looked at her in confusion. "What?"
"Cosmo, that girls father is the reason your father isn't around anymore."
"Whaaat?" He gasped covering his mouth with his hands.
"He's also the reason your father sent me to the hospital." She looked away as tears stung her eyes at the memory.
"But... why.. how?" He couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"Your father used to work at the Fairywinkle garbage company. Big Daddy gave him a job shortly before you were born. But one day, he fired him. Big Daddy knew we needed the money and he just let your father go. That's why I ended up in the hospital. Because your father was so overwhelmed by being fired."
Cosmo gasped and shuddered at the memory. He was little when it happened, but he still remembered it.
"But, what does that have to do with Wanda?" His confusion returning.
"I just don't think you should associate with those people, dear."
"But, mama-"
"Oh my, look at the time." She cut him off, not wanting to argue with him. "We better get going so we can open the bakery."
"Yes mama." He sighed.
If only Mama Cosma could understand that Cosmo didn't just like Wanda. He... loved her.

"Girls, I have some important business to take care of in the poconos, so I'm counting on you to stay out of trouble." Big Daddy said to his daughters, mostly to Blonda, who sat on the couch not really paying attention.
"Okay daddy." Wanda said.
"That means you two are to stay home where it's safe. No funny business," he looked at Blonda. "and you" he directed his attention to Wanda "stay away from that Cosma kid."
Wanda's eyes widened and she sighed, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Okay." She didn't dare look at him, knowing full well she wouldn't keep her promise.
"Good! Now-"
A shattering sound was heard in another room, followed by a crash. Big Daddy's eyes shot up and narrowed.
"Sorry boss!" He heard from the other room.
Big Daddy pinched the bridge of his nose and huffed.
"Excuse me girls, I need to go tend to some business." He cracked his knuckles. "VINNY!" Then he was gone.

That night the Fairywinkle house was filled with fairies from the Fairy Academy, all celebrating summer break. No more classes. No more homework. And best of all, no more Jorgen, at least for the next couple months.
Wanda was in the kitchen getting a cheese plate set up for Cosmo. He hadn't shown up yet, but she was expecting him to come at some point.
"Ah, muy bonita Wanda!" She heard that familiar Spanish accent and she sneered to herself before turning around.
"Hello, Juandissimo."
"Your beauty is so captivating." He said taking her hand to kiss it.
Wanda rolled her eyes and pulled her hand away. "Are you enjoying the party?" She asked.
"Ah si. But not nearly as much as I would be with you by my side." She wagged his brows at her.
"Well that's flattering but-" She was cut off by him taking her into his arms.
"Wanda, por favor." He dipped her back slightly. "These last six months have been torture for me. I've missed you so much."
"Juandissimo. Please let me go. You know I'm with Cos-"
"No." He silenced her by placing a finger over her lips. "Please, don't say his name."

Cosmo finally made it to Wanda's. It had been a long day at the bakery. His mama kept nagging him to stop eating the pasteries and he got yelled at a few times by customers complaining about him getting their orders wrong. It wasn't his fault if they weren't satisfied with him being creative with mixing the flavors to create more exciting ones. The only thing getting him through the day was being able to see Wanda.
He felt bad having Emmett lie about where they were going. But he knew Mama Cosma would never let him out of the house if she knew he was going to see Wanda. So Emmett told her he needed Cosmo to help him with a top secret project. Mama Cosma, being as tired as she was, didn't even question it and let him go. She even told him he could stay over night. So, the two friends picked up Fleur and headed over to Wanda's to enjoy the party.
Cosmo was exceptionally happy. He couldn't wait to see his swirly pink haired beauty and take her into his arms and hug and kiss her. And later, cuddle with her on the couch, in front of the fire.
With Big Daddy gone for the weekend, that opened up the opportunity for them to cuddle on the couch and watch a movie. Something they rarely got to do. In fact, they only got to do it once the entire time they were dating.
When they made their way inside the house, Cosmo saw Blonda dancing with Cupid and immediately approached her.
"Hey, do you know where Wanda is?" He asked.
"She's in the kitchen." Blonda shouted over the music not breaking her rhythm.
Cosmo looked toward the kitchen and smiled. He couldn't wait to see her. But when he approached the doorway, he wasn't expecting the sight before him.
"Mi reina!" Juandissimo coo'd. "I've missed you so much! Te amo." And he crashed his lips to Wanda's.
Cosmo gasped loudly and Wanda averted her eyes in his direction. She saw the hurt on Cosmo's features and watched as he quickly turned and walked away.
