"She's our manager?!"

Deep male voices yelled abruptly in shock, with the exception of the unfazed Kuroko and Mitobe and the unsurprised Captain, Hyuga Junpei.

Riko only nodded as she checks her clipboard, not even caring of their reactions. Yuki nervously fidgeted beside her coach, her pearly orbs only stares on the ground as she tries to cool down her burning cheeks.

Junpei looked at their new manager and sighed, 'I knew this would happen'.

"W-wait! So what's your relationship with Captain?" Koganei, who recovered first, asked the shy girl curiously.

"Cousins," Riko deadpanned, answering Koganei's question bluntly.

"EEEEEEEEEH?!"

Mitobe widened his eyes this time while for Kuroko… his expression stays neutral. The hot headed Captain could feel his eye twitch in annoyance.

Yuki's whole face reddened, hating all the attention she's receiving. She bowed her head more, her bangs successfully covered her now, tomato face. Riko rolled her eyes, 'Is it really that hard to believe?'

Honestly, they do think that it's really hard to believe. It's like comparing an orange to an apple. (AN: yeah guys I know… that line is stupid! But I can't help it XD) It was a big mystery on how a demon became cousins with an angel.

The team has this first impression that this girl in front of them is a blessing sent down from heaven. She has good looks that literally scream innocence, which is rare nowadays and hopefully, her attitude reflects with her appearance because seriously, they wanted a large glowing light of womanliness in their team. Their Coach obviously lacks what a woman needs to have.

Junpei walked up to her cousin, completely ignoring his surprised stupid team mates as if they were never there at all. He stopped in front of her and ruffled her silky white hair. Yuki looked up in surprise and quickly smile on the sight of her cousin's appearance.

Junpei grinned at her, "I'm glad you are our manager Yuki." His eyes then darkened when he realized her precious cousin will be surrounded with males, "You'll be fine as long as you stick with me and away from perverts."

Confused, Yuki cocked her head and said, "P-Perverts?"

"Yeah. Perverts," he intentionally emphasized the word perverts with malice and glared at his team mates. The boys visibly flinched and the male Hyuga eyed his cousin warningly, "So stay away from them. They are dangerous," so dangerous that the possibility of tainting her innocence is very high. But if that will ever happens, he'll make sure to end their lives as soon as possible.

Yuki silently watched her cousin laugh darkly.

"Don't worry Yuki-chan, we are not what your cousin seemed to be," Izuki joined the conversation.

"I-izuki-senpai," She looked away from his cousin and turned her gaze at Izuki who smiled at her. She returned back his smile and that's when Junpei stopped laughing.

Junpei glowered at Izuki.

Izuki coolly ignored him.

"Shut up Izuki-kun. Boys are perverts and you are no exception," Riko interfered, her hands placed on her hips. "Anyway, I'll introduce them to you Yu-chan."

"Hyuuga Junpei, your cousin, is the Captain and his position is shooting guard. Izuki Shun, our point guard. That guy-" She points at Koganei "—is Koganei Shin, small forward and the guy besides him is Mitobe Rinnosuke, our center. They are all 2nd years." Yuki nodded then Riko continued "The first years are, Hiroshi Fukuda, Kouki Furihata and Kouichi Kawahara" The trio sweat drop at that simple introduction. "The red head is Ka—"

"Y-You don't have to introduce Kagami-kun and Kuroko-kun. I-I already know them." Yuki interrupted.

There is a moment of silence.

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH?!"

Junpei winced in pain and glared at them, "SHUT UP MORONS!"

They immediately shut their mouth but the surprise on their face didn't disappear.

He continued, "There is no need to shout stupid lowlifes! If you want to shout then go to hell! And what the hell are you surprised about?!"

"You also don't have to shout Captain," Kagami simply stated. Junpei glared at him, causing Kagami to shut his mouth.

"H-how did you notice Kuroko-kun?" Furihata stammered and stared at the girl in disbelief.

Yuki tilt her head on the side, confused on what he's talking about. That simple action made some of the guys cheeks turned pink.

"I'm also curious about that, how did you notice him so easily?" Kagami asked. This caught Kuroko's attention and was now looking intensely on the shy girl.

The girl blushed, "B-because I can s-see him?" Yuki looked at Kagami and blinked.

Kagami only gave her a blank look, "Huh?"

"But Kuroko-kun has a low presence that you won't even notice him!" Fukuda stated incredulously.

Yuki muttered a small 'oh' and said, "Well, maybe beca-"she was cut off when a hand suddenly covered her mouth.

"You can't tell them your secret- yet, Yu-chan," Riko told her as she removed her hands on her mouth.

"W-why not?" Yuki looked at Riko curiously.

"Because I don't want to~" Riko winked.

"What's with the cliffhanger?!" Koganei whined.

Riko ignored him, "Well, Yu-chan. Why don't you introduce yourself?"

Yuki's face paled. She's not ready for introduction!

She gulped and her face started to have a little color. "W-w-well… umm… I-I-I…"

She averted her eyes and look everywhere but them. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes as she counted one to ten. 'Calm down, Yuki. Just introduce yourself and this will be over!'

Junpei looked at her cousin worriedly. He knew that his cousin is not good with introductions. She's so bad with it that sometimes she ended up fainting. And that, of course, is something he doesn't want to happen.

They patiently waited for her to speak.

Yuki opened her eyes and bit her bottom lip until it turns red. She is still not even taking a glance at the guys, in fear that she might faint.

'Kawaii,' the guys thought as they look at the white haired girl.

"W-well, I-I'm Hyuuga Y-Yuki… umm… Age 16 and m-my birthday is on January 3," she gulped then continued, "I-I like s-sweets and I h-hate strawberries. I'm in Class 1-B… I-I… I don't have enough knowledge about b-b-basketball b-but," She took a deep breath and closed her eyes to calm herself but her mind drifted away to what her purpose was supposed to be…

Why is she here?

An image of her cousin's big smile flashed on her mind. That big smile she saw every time he wins with his team mate, every time his shots go in… every time he plays basketball. Deep in her heart, she always wanted to see that big smile of his rather than the crestfallen image of him when they lose and when the time he heard that his friend cannot play basketball for the time being.

It really breaks her heart and those times, she didn't know what to do and silently watched her cousin handle his own pain. She remembered one time he told her about his dream.

His dream and his team's dream is also hers from now on so she decided.

She'll use this opportunity to help him and his team with all she can. She'll protect his smile and maybe, if she gets a little stronger… she'll protect his cousin's teammate's smile too.

I will… I will…

"I-I will help your team become no.1 in Japan!"

Riko's heart swelled on the bravery of her friend. She nearly cried but held her tears at bay. Riko always see the girl in front of her as fragile and naïve but now, she could say, she slowly changing in her own way. She knew she'll never regret choosing her as the team's manager.

"R-ri-chan…" Yuki called and grinned widely at her when she noticed her glossy eyes. "Thank you too."

Riko huffed and sniffed a bit, "Idiot."

Yuki giggled and hugged her childhood friend with a large smile, "Thank you, really." She whispered.

Riko retracted herself from the hug. She smiled softly and affectionately patted the girl's head. She suddenly realizes what she's doing and noted that it's not yet one month and she's already showing a sign of weakness to her team. As their coach, she should always show her tough exterior and make them known to all that she demand respect. She turned around, her mood changing into seriousness and lace of malice. She should always remind them of their goal.

"Boys, we are going to beat their ass and make it to championship! Got that?!" Riko exclaimed and stared at them with narrow eyes. "But of course, it will be not easy as we want it to be! Yu-chan, I mean, Yuki will not only be our manager but also be our strategist! She will be the eyes and I will be the brains of this team. So remember, our only choice is to win and be strong! Understand?!"

"Hai!" they all shouted with a determined face.

"And if you lose," she beamed.

They all gulped.

"You know what will happen~" she cheerfully said.

They all froze on their spot and just nodded. They are surely not going to lose! Especially with that cruel punishment waiting for them!

Yuki walked to her cousin, leaving Riko alone to her own world, "W-what is she talking about nii-san?"

He sighed and rubbed his temple, "You know… The same stuff," He answered.

Her pale eyes looked up and it hit her. "Ah! That?"

Junpei only nodded, confirming her thoughts.

"I'll not let that happened to you nii-san!" She decided.

The older Hyuuga shed tears mentally, thanking the gods out there that he was given such a wonderful cousin. Oh how lucky he is!

"I can't wait for tomorrow! To think that we are going to fight one of the Generation of the Miracles," Kagami smirked. "Kise Ryouta is going down!"

"Kise Ryouta?" Yuki asked when he heard the familiar name.

This caught the team's attention and even her cousin. "You don't know him?!" they asked at the same time.

Yuki blinked and blinked and blinked then shook her head.

'This girl is full of surprises,' they all thought.

"He is one of the Generation of Miracles," Kuroko who is silent all the time finally spoke.

All of them jumped in surprised when they notice their phantom player.

Yuki blinked again, "I-I heard that they are a team of prodigies and Ri-chan once told me that you're one of them, Kuroko-kun," She uttered.

"Hai."

"T-then I'm really excited to watch you play on Kaijou's practice match, Kuroko-kun," She smiled lightly.

Kuroko returned the gesture with a small smile, "I'll do my best."

Yuki blushed when he saw him smiled. It's very rare for him to show emotions and admittedly, it's her first time seeing him smile. He looks refreshing…

"Enough with the chit-chat! Start practicing! Don't waste time!" Riko strictly ordered.

They all moved and Koganei walked up to Yuki excitedly, "Welcome to the team Yuki-chan!"

"Thank you," Koganei ruffled her head and Yuki giggled in response. He skipped happily with Mitobe in tow. Mitobe smiled as he nodded and Yuki smiled back, bowing as he passed by.

"Please take care of us," Kuroko said and bowed, Yuki bowed as well. The trio did the same to Yuki. Kagami just ruffled her hair and she stuck her mouth at him and pouted as she combed her hair with her fingers.

"You can start your job as a manager tomorrow Yuki," the Captain said.

"I-I can do my job today!" Yuki replied.

"I agree with him. Just go home and ready yourself for tomorrow's practice match. You also need to rest you know. We need you to be in full condition," Riko argued back.

Yuki sighed in defeat. There is nothing she can do when it comes to the two of them.

"I-I guess you're right. Then I'll be going. Thank you."

Riko blew her whistle to catch the boy's attention.

Yuki took it as a chance to speak "I-I'll be going now. T-thank you for accepting me as the team's manager. S-see you tomorrow." She bowed, her perpetual blushed present on her face.

The boys wave goodbye to her and watched her leave.

"Return to practice!" Coach shouted when Yuki's out of sight.

The boys returned to what they're doing.

Just because it's only a practice match, doesn't mean they're going to take it easy.

They'll make sure to win. No matter what happens.
