I ran into the woods, the rain wetting my hair, my bare feet slapping against mud. Jacob would be upset with me, but I didn't care. It was dark out, the wind on my face felt nice. I was angry with the blonde leech. I didn't really know why. I had an argument with myself the whole way home, which was quite a while, I walked in human form. I didn't understand why he was pushing me, he's not my friend, he has never been, perhaps he wanted to be? Well, I don't want to be his friend and he should know that. And where does he get off meddling in my emotions like that? I mean, he doesn't have a choice, I don't think, but still, he could've never said a word.
I sighed. Or maybe I'm being irrational because I'm upset that anyone can know my feelings without me wanting them to and there are no lies I can tell to get myself out of it. All I knew for sure was that I just wanted to be home, in my nice warm bed and just not move for a long amount of time. I walked up to my worn porch stairs, my feet feeling heavy. I reached for the door and tried to push it open. It was locked. I pounded on the door loudly for a little bit, no answer. So I'm just locked out, I guess. I sighed deeply. I walked down the street awhile, through a yard and found myself outside of Embry Call's window.
We'd become good friends, he was kind and thoughtful, easy to talk to, didn't seem to mind my bitchy behavior. I stood outside his window for three minutes, tapping loudly, before he finally pulled back the dark blue curtains that covered the window. His eyes went wide as my mouth set into a hard line and he hurried to open the window.
"About fucking time," I grumbled, he laughed, reaching down to help pull me into the room, water dripping onto his bare chest and the floor of his bedroom.
"What are you doing here?" He questioned, amusement in his voice, "And soaking wet at that?"
"I was trapped at the Cullen's with Jake because of the storm, by the time I got home I'd been locked out," I scoffed, "Obviously I'd be soaking because of the rain. Who else would I go to?" I shook my head, a water droplet ran down my face.
Embry beamed, "So, what I'm hearing is you just wanted to see me?" He teased, moving away from me to push some papers around on his desk, "Do you want something dry?"
"No, figured I'd sleep in wet clothes." My voice dripped with sarcasm.
He shrugged, "Suit yourself." He dropped down into his desk chair, a bright smile on his face. I rolled my eyes, throwing my hands up and moving towards his closet.
"You're such a dick," I said groaned, pulling a light green shirt off the hanger and closing the doors. I went to his dresser and grabbed a pair of dark gray sweats. The wet clothes clung to my body, it was annoying and I couldn't wait to get them off, "Fuck off, Call." I motioned with my hands for him to turn, he obeyed silently. I pulled my clothes off, tossing them into a pile in the corner of his room. I sighed in relief as I pulled the dry shirt over my head. I dropped myself down onto his warm, soft bed and told him he could turn.
He sighed, "You just had to pick my favorite shirt?" He questioned, a mock frown on his face.
"Should've gotten clothes for me." I shrugged. He looked worn, tired, but he still smiled a lovely smile at me. There was a black folder on the bed next to his pillow, I reached over and picked it up, "Everything alright?" I questioned, concern in my voice, as I looked at the folder. It had names drawn on it in different colors, Jared in yellow, Jake in green, mostly pack member names, but his mom's name was there. I looked for mine, my mouth turning down when I didn't see it. I turned it over and found it there, big bold letters in blue, a heart near the A, a smile above the C, a little silver wolf under Leah, clouds, and raindrops splashing against the letters. It was amazing. I felt a smile grow on my face.
"Do you like it?" Embry's voice was soft, happy, I looked up at him, biting my lower lip and raising an eyebrow.
"You didn't answer my question." I opened the folder, going through the pages. There were many pack drawings, I noticed he liked to draw my wolf. There was a drawing of a bright green forest, two wolves standing in the middle, the sun shining down on them and birds in the trees, their noses touched. Embry wolf & Leah wolf. It was cute, I had to give him that.
"I don't know." He sighed, "My mom is always angry at me, I can't tell her what I am or where I go all the time. She thinks I'm just a horrible child. She's not even here tonight because she can't stand to look at me." He squeezed his eyes shut, rubbing his cheeks with his hands. I stood up and walked towards him, wrapping my arms around his warm shoulders, he hugged me tightly.
"You seem tired," I said softly, rubbing my hands down his back. He nodded against me slowly, "We can lay down if you like." I offered, placing my cheek against his head. He always smelled so wonderful.
We silently moved to his bed, laying down next to each other, he pulled the aqua blanket up around us. I was facing the wall, my back to him. It was a decently sized bed, a queen I think. I laid my head against his shoulder. It was still raining softly outside, I could hear it against the roof and the window.
"I love your drawings," I whispered, he shifted towards me, his breath hot on my neck.
"They're awful." He groaned.
"Shut up." I elbowed him softly in the stomach, a chuckle leaving my lips as I heard him laugh.
"Goodnight, Lee." He moved closer to me, putting his hand on mine.
"Goodnight," I replied, gripping his hand tightly.
I dreamt of the blonde attacking me in the woods that night.
