Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor Who, although I love it.

A/N: So I decided I might write another one of these, with different ideas.

The Doctor turned around slowly. He knew it. There it was. 11. The brass sign on the door. Most would think it showed he was the eleventh incarnation of himself, but they were wrong. The number eleven was for his fears. The Doctor had eleven fears. He himself barely knew them, but he did know what they were. But in this room was his greatest fear. And he had a pretty good idea who it was. But he knew that all would make sense when he looked in that door. Should he? He was a Time Lord, would this affect him? A voice in the back of his head told him it would. But the Doctor knew that that voice wasn't always correct, and he had to confirm his suspicion.

So that's how the Doctor found himself walking towards the door, the handle clear in his vision. He clutched the handle, twisting it and poking his head into the room.

"Of course," He whispered to himself, understanding. "Who else?"

It was him. Obviously it was him, I mean, come on, the Doctor knew it all along. There was no reason for it not to be him.

He knew why too. The Doctor both fears himself and has faith in himself. He has faith in himself because he knows he's a genious, he knows what he's capable of doing. He knows he has the ability to use his knowledge to help people, to save them, as he as done so before.

However, he also fears himself because he recognises the fact that he's messed up a lot. The Doctor thought back to all those times, he knew he'd messed up his companions, he knew that there was the risk of that happening to Amy and Rory. And however hard he tries, he can't seem to stop it. He fears that he will mess up something that he won't be able to fix. He killed all the time lords, so although he has the ability to save all races, he can kill them too.

Realising all of this, the Doctor knew that he could stop it all. But he'd have to stop bringing companions along, he knew it had gone too far. What would he do about Amy and Rory? He couldn't wait until one of them died, he needed to save them. He needed to stop himself, make sure he was more careful, and that he only did good. And that was probably the only way. But he knew, deep down, that it was him. Everything he did put someone in danger.

And it needed to stop.
