A/N: Alright! Chapter 2! Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I don't own Sky High or any of its mentioned characters. I just own Adam, Angie, and any other random people I throw in.

Angie P.O.V

Adam dropped me off at Hero Support 101. Apparently every sidekick took this class for all of their years in high school.

"Well hello there!" A voice called, "You must be the new transfer student!"

I turned and smiled at the blue-eyes man in the doorway. He seemed like a child in an adult's body.

"My name is Mr. Boy," he introduced, "Also known as-"

He ducked behind his desk and reappeared shortly after in a bright red, white, and blue outfit.

"All-American Boy!" he put his arms up in a fighting pose.

"Alright Mr. Boy," I smiled at the kind man.

I walked into the room; Mr. Boy's changing sequence attracted the whole class's attention. I placed a dark curtain of my hair between myself and the world.

"Hey," a girl wearing a lot of purple waved me over, "Come sit here!"

"Thanks," I said quietly, sitting down, "My name is Angie. Angie McLine"

"I'm Magenta Fluer," she smiled and flipped her purple hair out of her face.

"So this is the sidekick class?" I asked, looking around the room.

"Yup," Magenta began pointing out the sidekicks, "That kid in insanely bright colors is Zack Mills. The orange kid is Ethan Hammonds."

"Oh, cool," I muttered, "So what's your power?"

Magenta looked away.

"Well," she looked ashamed, "It's a terrible power. That's why I'm a sidekick. That's why all of us are sidekicks."

I placed my tattooed hand on her shoulder.

"There's nothing wrong with being a sidekick," I reassured her, "Heroes wouldn't be able to function without us."

Magenta cracked a smile.

"True," she replied, "Well, my power is shape-shifting."

"That's a good power," I told her, "I know a hero that can shape-shift."

"Really?" she asked sarcastically, "Can he shape-shift into a guinea pig?"

"Oh," I felt stupid, "No. He can shift into a dragon."

"Really?" she asked, "You're friends?"

"What?" I asked

"You're friends with Adam?" she laughed, "I'm surprised he even talked to you."

"Why wouldn't he?" I asked her, "He was in charge of showing me around."

"Oh," she turned back to the front of the room, "He usually just talks to either Layla, Jeremy, or Rosalind."

"Who are they?" I asked, putting the names into the back of my mind

"They're other heroes." She responded, "They're the only people Adam really talks too. Rosalind and Jeremy much more than Layla."

"Oh." I muttered quietly.

"Don't worry," she smiled, "You'll meet everyone at lunch."

The rest of class passed by uneventfully, save for the moment when a giant explosion rocked the ceiling. I was the only student to freak out. Everyone else acted as if it happened on a daily bases. Mr. Boy told me that I needed to go to extra tutoring, seeing as how I didn't know how to change into my uniform at lightning speed.

"Ugh!" I cried as we were released for lunch, "How can you learn that stuff EVERYDAY?"

Magenta chuckled

"Well," she explained, "We have been going here since freshman year. I guess we're used to it."

"Yeah," I smiled, "And I've been learning boring stuff like Algebra."

Magenta and I joked back and forth on the way to lunch. I was getting strange looks from hanging out with her. I guessed it was because I was a new sidekick.

"Hey! Angie!" A now familiar voice called, "Over here!"

I glanced up to search the damned place of every new high school. The cafeteria is the bane of every new student's life. The incessant worry over where you sit. The fact that where you sit marks who you are for the rest of the year. It all gives me a headache.

"Angie!" the voice called again, "I'm over here!"

I looked harder around the room, and locked eyes with Adam. I wore a gianormous smile on my face as I made my way to the edge of the cafeteria.

"Hey Adam!" I called back, sitting down at the table.

"Hey Angie!" he greeted me with a fanged smile, "Welcome to the Loner Table!"

"Is that supposed to be ironic?" asked a black haired girl that sat down, rolling her blue eyes.

"Aww," Adam groaned, sounding like a little kid, "Rosalind, why do you always have to ruin my fun?"

"Oh please Adam," Rosalind chuckled, rolling her electric blue eyes, "Act more mature!"

Adam stuck his tongue out. I giggled, drawing Rosalind's attention.

"So," she muttered, taking a bite out of her hero sandwich, "You're the new transfer student?"

I nodded; suddenly shy in front of this confident girl. Her black hair matched her black jeans and black and purple converse. Her violet shirt was a few shades darker than my eyes.

"I'm Angie McLine," I held my hand out for her to shake

Rose snorted and smiled at me.

"I don't do the shaking hands shit," she laughed, "It's way to formal."

"Rosalind Hex," she smiled wider, "Resident lightning shooter."

"So," she turned back to Adam, "have you seen my ponytail holder?"

She pointed to her hair, which was currently falling in front of her face. Adam shrugged, his eyes flitting around the lunch room.

"Maybe you should ask Lash?" he pointed to the striped boy

Rosalind's face darkened. A furious scowl adorned her features; her electric blue eyes seemed to light up.

"LASH!" she stood up on her chair, leaving her sandwich behind, "GET THE FUCK OVER HERE!"

Lash whipped his head around, his chubby friend following suit. He scowled at Rose and Adam and smirked at me. He stretched his leg across the entire cafeteria, taking only one step to reach our table.

"What do you want, Sparky?" he quipped

Rose's temper flared again. I thought I saw sparks run down her arms. Lash noticed them too.

"Careful," he mocked, "Your hair will frizz."

"Oh," Adam muttered, "Bad move."

Rosalind's lost her cool. She began to lift out of her seat and her eyes glowed blue. More sparks showered down her body, changing the air around her to a light blue. Static charged the air, causing my hair to stand on end.

"Roz!" Adam shouted, shifting his arm to its dragon form, "Calm down!"

Rosalind ignored his plea and sent a large bolt of lightning at Lash. His face drained of color and he was thrown to the back wall of the cafeteria. She flew over to him on a large lightning bolt.

"Where is it?" she asked, "Where is my ponytail holder?"

Lash held his arms over his face. His sleeve pulled down and revealed a purple rubber band. Rosalind shocked him again and grabbed it.

"Thank you." She smiled, all lightning disappearing from around her.

She pulled her midnight hair up into a messy ponytail, several strands of hair falling around her face. She smirked at Lash and flipped off Speed as she made her way back to our table. Everyone else just turned back to their lunches, as if this happened every day.

It does, a deep voice sounded in my head.

I whipped my head to Adam, my eyes wide. He looked at my with a blank look.

"What?" he asked, "Rosalind always kicks Lash's ass."

"Not that," I squeaked out, "I heard a voice in my head!"

Turn around sweetheart, the voice commanded.

I did as I was told and locked eyes with a white-haired boy. His eyes were an icy gray and were twinkling with amusement. He well built, much like Adam, but did not seem intimidating.

Adam followed my gaze and smiled at the boy.

"Jeremy!" he called, "We saved you a seat!"

Jeremy smiled at Rosalind and Adam as he walked across the cafeteria. He slid into his seat with ease. I noticed how some of the other students simply walked out of his way.

"This is Jeremy North," Adam introduced, seeing as Rosalind was too preoccupied with her sandwich, "He's our snitch."

"Really?" Jeremy lifted a pierced eyebrow, "Just because I have telepathy and telekinesis, you call me the snitch?"

Adam just smiled his familiar fanged smile and went back to eating.

Jeremy looked at me, his eyes prying.

"What's your name my dear?" he asked, a smirk playing on his lips

"Like you don't already know," I retorted

"Touché my dear," he smiled and turned to Adam, "I like her!"

"Of course you do," Adam replied, rolling his eyes, "You like anything with boobs, dude."

Jeremy laughed, unabashed. He turned back to me again.

"What are your powers?" he asked, "I did not get that when I entered your mind."

"Angelina McLine," I introduced myself, "Healer and power influencer."

"So," he raised an eyebrow, "You're a sidekick?"

"Well," I felt my cheeks burn, "Yeah. I am."

"Oh,"

We both fell silent after that. I had the strangest feeling Jeremy didn't like me because I was a sidekick.

It's not that, he replied to my thoughts, I'm just not used to talking to people I don't know very well.

I rolled my eyes. This whole voice in my head thing was going to get annoying. I glanced around the room, noting the different cliques. There was an African American girl who was surrounded by others that looked just like her.

That's Penny, Jeremy informed me, and She can clone herself. She's also a real bitch.

I laughed quietly, ignoring the looks Rose and Adam shot at me. I continued my scan of the cafeteria, and rested my eyes on Magenta's table. She waved at me and turned back to her table. One by one, the kids sitting at her table made their way over to where Jeremy, Adam, and Rosalind were sitting. I smiled as Magenta sat down.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?" Adam growled.

"Easy there, Scales," Rose patted his arm, "Sorry about that. We haven't fully trained him."

"He can be very territorial," Jeremy chuckled.

"I've noticed," Magenta remarked

Adam tensed more each time a person sat down. He was at the very edge of his seat once everyone was seated.

"We aren't running a fucking outreach program here!" Adam snarled.

"Buddy," a tall, lanky kid wearing neon yellow and white placed his hand on Adam's back, "We just came to sit next to Magenta's new friend. Calm down"

Adam's eyes shifted to molten gold as he growled.

"Oh no," Rose muttered, hiding behind her sandwich.

"Unless you want to lose your 'fuck buddy'" Adam gestured to Zack's hand, "I suggest you stop touching me."

Zack's face paled and his whipped his arm back. Adam's eyes changed to a strange combination of light blue and gold.

"Anyway," a red- headed girl wearing green clothes broke the tension, "You must be the new sidekick! I'm Layla Williams! I can control plants."

"I'm Will Stronghold," introduced a boy with brown hair, "I can fly and I have super strength."

Muscle head, Jeremy remarked in my head.

I controlled my giggles and moved on to the next people.

"I'm Ethan," said a dark-skinned boy wearing glasses and an orange tee shirt, "I can melt."

"And I'm the Zack Attack!" yelled the boy that likes wearing bright colors, "I have an awesome power!"

"Really?" I asked, "What is it?"

"He's a fucking nightlight." Adam muttered, "Big whoop."

Rose never took her eyes off of her sandwich as she reached over. A resounding SMACK could be heard around the table.

"Ow." Adam muttered again, "What the hell was that for?"

"For not being nice," Rose shrugged, "Even Jeremy is on his best behavior."

I glanced back at Jeremy. Sure enough, he was simply eating his food. I continued to look at him until he glanced at me.

What? He asked

I just raised my eyebrow.

Fine, he rolled his eyes, I'm looking through their minds to find anything of use to me. Hey! Layla's hot in a bikini!

I quickly looked away and focused on something else.

"So," Magenta looked up at me, "What are your powers again?"

"Uh," I blushed at being the center of attention, "I'm a healer and I can increase someone's power."

"Really?" crooned a deep voice from behind me.

Stripes circled around my waist and pulled me away from my table. I gave a small squeak of surprise and looked up into dark chocolate irises.

"Lash," Rose growled, "Didn't I knock you out?"

"You can't stop a good thing babe," Lash snapped back.

"What do you want with her?" Rose asked, standing up from the table.

"You gave me a nasty welt Hex," Lash smirked, "Little Ms. Nurse here can get rid of it for me."

"Uh," I muttered, "I haven't had my powers for very long."

"It'll be fine," Lash waved a gloved hand.

"Okay," I breathed out, "Give me a minute."

Lash sighed impatiently. He loosened his grip to allow me to see the bump on the back of his head.

I breathed in deeply and focused my energy on the bruise. My star tattoos began to emit a light purple glow.

"This is going to feel weird," I muttered.

I released the energy building up inside me. The purple light encased Lash's head and the bump slowly lessened in size until it disappeared entirely.

"Whoa," Adam breathed out.

Lash let go of me and felt his head. Feeling that the lump was gone, he smiled; not the usual smirk, but an actual smile. It made butterflies flutter in my stomach.

"Nice job," Lash complimented, "Now go away."

I frowned and climbed off of his lap. I nearly collapsed as the familiar wave of fatigue fell over me.

"Easy there," a deep voice rumbled in my ear, "I'll take care of you."

Chocolate colored eyes were the last thing I saw before I blacked out.

"Wake up Sweetie," a soft voice called in my ear, "Time to wake up."

"Ugh," I murmured, "What time is it?"

"It's about 1:15," the voice answered, "You haven't been out for a while."

"I can heal," I explained to the voice, "I'm never out for long."

I slowly opened my eyes, revealing a white room and a small desk in the corner. A kindly old woman was walking around the room, putting away several ice packs and a wet towel.

"Where am I?" I asked her.

She turned around, and smiled at me. She walked back to the small cot I was resting on, and held out a glass of water. I took it and drank eagerly.

"I have never seen a power like yours," the nurse admitted, "It could come in handy around here."

"Oh," I blushed at the compliment, "I should probably head back to class."

"Of course," she smiled, "but first, let's talk to Principal Powers about a job here."

"A job?" I asked, perplexed at the offer.

"Of course," the woman explained, "Just go to the principal and tell her Nurse Spex sent you."

"Okay," I muttered, "Thanks for reviving me."

"No trouble at all" Nurse Spex waved her hand, "Now, shoo!"

"Before I forget," I asked, "Who brought me here?"

"Oh," she smiled wider, "It was Jason Arrington."

I froze. Lash brought me here? Why would he do that? He's a bully. He puts people in the nurse's office. He doesn't help carry them here.

"I'll be sure to thank him," I whispered.

As soon as I left Nurse Spex, I headed over to gym. Luckily, I woke up early enough to change in time. Boomer gave me a simple uniform; a blue t-shirt and orange basketball shorts. The colors didn't really go with my eyes, but it was what I was given. The shirt was a little tight for my taste, but the shorts were long and comfortable.

"Angie!" Rose called, "You're alright!"

She ran up to me and gripped me into a vice grip hug. Small sparks began to flow from her body unto mine.

"Uh, Rose," I gasped out, "I can't breathe!"

"Oops!" she yelled and released me, "Now come on! It's time for Save the Citizen!"

"Save the what?" I allowed Rose to drag me to the gym.

"Save the Citizen!" Adam repeated, grabbing my other arm.

"Am I being abducted?" I asked sarcastically

My question was ignored as Adam and Rosalind continued to explain what Save the Citizen is. Apparently, it's some game that four people play. Two people were the "heroes" and two were the "villains". The heroes have three minutes to save the citizen before it is destroyed by a giant saw contraption.

"So," Boomer greeted me, "You chose the troublemakers, did you?"

"We aren't troublemakers," Adam growled

"We just choose to make trouble," Rose glared at Boomer.

Coach Boomer simply rolled his eyes and climbed on top of a tall chair.

"Alright!" He shouted, "Time for SAVE THE CITIZEN!"

The power of his last yell drowned out the cheers of the other students. He pointed out two figure in the bleachers.

"Lash!" the striped boy stepped forward, "Speed!", then came his thick friend.

"You two are the villains!" Boomer shouted, "Now, pick your heroes!"

Lash stepped forward and glanced over the audience. The students seemed to shrink back. I think I saw several turn invisible.

"We choose…" He paused for dramatic effect, "Brisingr!"

Adam stood up and cracked his knuckles. He glared down at the two bullies. His eyes shifted to a molten gold.

"And for the second hero," Speed stepped forward, "We pick Hex!"

Rose stood up with an evil grin. Speed and Lash walked to one end of the gym. Adam grabbed some plastic armor and tossed a smaller set to Rose. She snagged it out of midair and slid it on.

"Alright Hex and Brisingr," Lash cracked his knuckles, "Prepare for a fight."

"It won't be a fight," Rose snapped, "Just a beat-down."

Sparks began to flow around her body as she stepped toward the middle. Adam's arms shifted to their dragon form, scales shimmering under the gym lights.

I shrank back towards Jeremy, scared of the outcome.

"Don't worry," his deep voice whispered in my ear, "This happens all the time."

"It's not them I'm worried about," I quipped, "It's the villains."

Jeremy simply laughed as Coach Boomer began the match.

"BATTLE!"

And with that, the fight began.
