September 1, 2018.
"Lexi, c'mon get up! You're holding us up! We have to leave in twenty minutes" Tamika nagged her younger sister
"I don't want to though" Alexis whined
"Then you don't get to go to Hogwarts then" Tamika said walking out of her sisters room.
Alexis rolled out of bed and pulled on a sweater and black leggings. She stuffed her trunk full of clothes, books and other stuff she bought for school. After her trunk was full she went to the bathroom to get ready. She put her long, dusty blonde hair in a french braid going down her back. She put her glasses over her brown eyes, she didn't really need them, they were just a fashion statement. She went downstairs and ate her breakfast of bacon and toast.
"Mom can we go now?" Tamika begged. She was in Ravenclaw, so she really liked school.
"'Mika, not now. Alexis still has to eat, and it's only nine-thirty" Lynda Arbor told her daughter
"You said we have to leave in twenty minutes. Tamika, I could have slept for another hour!" Alexis whined
"Suck it up. You're going to have to wake up at seven if you want breakfast on time at school" Tamika said.
They ate the rest of their breakfast in peace and climbed in to the car at ten-fifteen. On the forty-five minute car ride to Kings Cross Tamika was ranting about School.
"Lexi you're going to like it at Hogwarts. Writing two foot essays for transfiguration, brewing a perfect moonshine poiton-" Tamika carried on, but Alexis didn't listen. She was intimidated by her sisters incredible reputation. Tamika was bound to get Prefect and Head Girl. Alexis on the other hand, she was not so sure. She knew she was not incompetent. She knew she was not a perfect little angel, she was not one to pass up a good dare. But she was kind and caring about her family and the environment. Minutes later they were pulling up to Kings Cross station. The family got two trolleys and the girls each put their stuff on one. They made it to platforms nine and ten, It was time to run through the barrier. Tamika ran into the wall first and she was gone in the blink of a eye. It was Alexis' turn. She was nervous because she never done this before. She made the grip on her trolley firmer and ran into the wall. She was expecting to crash, but she didn't. It felt like the wall was melting away behind her. She was surrounded by bricks for a second and then emerged on the steam-filled platform 9 3/4. There stood the scarlett steam engine that is the Hogwarts Express. She set a daze on the beautiful train.
"Alexis, snap out of it" Tamika snapped.
Alexis and Tamika loaded their trunks and owls into a compartment and went back onto the platform to say goodbye
"Bye Damien" Alexis said, bending down to hug her younger brother.
She walked over to her parents.
"Bye Mom, bye, Dad"
"Bye sweetheart" Lynda said
"Bye. Just don't tell anyone about, well, you know" Simon Arbor told his daughter
"I won't"
The whistle was blowing from the train and Tamika and Alexis went into their compartment.
The train was pulling out of the station and two girls were standing at the doorway. Alexis recognized as Mia Struct and Sabrina MacMillan, Tamika's best friends.
"Hey Mika. Wanna come sit with us?" Mia offered
"Sure. Alexis do you mind?" Tamika asked
"No, not at all"
Tamika grabbed her stuff and walked out after her friends.
Alexis sat in silence for a few minutes before a girl with firey red hair and brown eyes knocked on the door.
"Hey, can I sit here? My brothers are being jerks and not letting me sit wth them" The girl asked
"Sure, go right ahead"
She sat down and introduced herself.
"You sound different. Are you from here?"
"I was born in Texas in America but we moved here when I was seven"
"Cool. I'm Lily Potter" She said
"Potter? Like is your dad Harry Potter?" Alexis asked, Lily rolled her eyes at the question.
"Yes, yes he is. Whats your name?"
"Alexis Arbor. I guess you're tired of people asking if Harry is your dad?"
"Nice to meet you Alexis, and yes I am tired of people asking if Harry Potter is my dad"
They talked for awhile and discussed their interests. Alexis wanted to tell Lily about her animagisim so badly, but she knew she couldn't.
"Anything from the trolley, dears?" the Trolley Witch asked them
"I'll take a chocolate frog, some Bertie Botts and a licorice wand please" Lily said
The Trolley Witch took them off the trolley. "And for you?" she asked Alexis
"Some Fizzing Whizbees and a pumpkin pasty" Alexis said
The girls ate their food in peace for a bit. Alexis tossed some owl treats to her brown owl, Rocky.
"Thats a nice owl, I wish I could have one" Lily said with a sigh.
"Why can't you have one?" Alexis asked
"Both of my brothers have one and my parents said I could borrow one of theirs" She rolled her eyes at her sentence.
"Lily, look!" Alexis said and she pointed ot the window. On a distant cliff stood the majestic Hogwarts Castle. It had many turrets and towers. As they drew closer Alexis noticed the yellow-ish, cozy look shining through the many windows. The train pulled into Hogsmeade station and Alexis and Lily grabbed their stuff and stepped off the train and stepped on to the platform.
"Firs' years! Firs' years this way!" Said a rather large, very hairy man.
Alexis, Lily and all the other first years followed him to the lake where they piled into some boats and off to the castles they went.
