Story 2: Harry/Lucy (Harry Potter & Fairy Tail Crossover)

A/N: An idea I had for a crossover with the anime Fairy Tail. It would have been a Harry/Lucy pairing. Lucy would arrive on Earth learning some Harry Potter style magic while helping him develop some Earth-Land style magic as well. She would help him defeat Voldemort and then he would join her on returning to Earth-Land.

Harry Potter, also known as the boy-who-lived, and as of a few hours previous, as the prophecy-bound chosen one, hadn't thought his hectic life could get any worse. His parents had been murdered when he was a year-old, he'd been forced to grow up with his Aunt and Uncle who hated him, and even after discovering he was a wizard, things hadn't got much better. Sure, he'd made friends for the first time in his life, and he got to escape his relatives for ten months of the year, but he always seemed to find himself in life threatening situations. Situations like the events surrounding the philosophers stone, the chamber of secrets, or even being forcibly entered into the Triwizard Tournament. This year has been the worst of all of them. Being forced to live under the tyrannical rule of Professor Umbridge had been a nightmare, but even that paled in comparison to the previous night's events.

Receiving a vision planted in his head by Voldemort that his godfather, Sirius Black, was in trouble, he'd led his friends deep into the Department of Mysteries to rescue him. Of course, this had all been a ruse to lure Harry to that location in the first place. Now needing saving himself, Sirius had come with the rest of the Order of the Phoenix, and that's where Harry's vision had become a reality. Fighting off his insane cousin, Bellatrix Lestrange, Sirius had been hit with a spell that had pushed him into the large stone archway, also known as the veil of death.

In a blinding rage, Harry had chased down Bellatrix to get his revenge only to come face to face with Voldemort for the fourth time in his life. Luckily for him, Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts and widely accepted as the most powerful wizard alive, arrived in time to hold the Dark Lord off. Seeing them duel had been the first time that Harry realized how outmatched he really was. The two wizards reshaped the very fabric of reality on a whim to strike blows against each other.

It was only after Voldemort failed to possess him and was driven off once again that Dumbledore took Harry back to Hogwarts. It was then, with his mind still reeling from the loss of Sirius, that his headmaster revealed to Harry the contents of the prophecy, and the fact that his very fate was intertwined with that of Voldemort.

It was all of this that lead to his current predicament: barricaded in an abandoned classroom while his body shook with each sob. Normally, Harry wasn't one to cry. He'd learned from a young age that it didn't help and only earned him the increased ire of his relatives, but all of this was too much. Sirius was the closest he'd ever had to a true family, and because of his own foolish actions he was gone. On top of that, it was now his responsibility to kill the most infamous and feared dark wizard of all time. It wasn't that he had any problem with the idea of taking out his parents' murderer, but his lack of confidence in his ability to do it that dismayed him.

The duel he'd witnessed a few hours earlier had proven that his previous ability to survive his encounters with Voldemort most definately had been all down to luck… just like he'd tried to tell everyone earlier in the year. Harry even started to wonder at the futility of running the DA that year. None of them would have survived if the Order hadn't shown up when they did, so had it all been worth it? Shaking those thoughts away, Harry's hand subconsciously balled into fists. So distracted by his thoughts, he didn't even feel his own nails cutting into his skin.

As his tears began to slow and his breathing evened out, Harry couldn't help but start to question why all of this seemed to always happen to him? Why couldn't someone else be responsible for handling Voldemort for once? Was it his duty to always have to risk his life to solve other people's problems? Deep down he knew he would make the same decision to help others regardless, but it was just the idea that he had no choice in the matter that rubbed him the wrong way.

So it was that when the room finally fell to complete silence, that Harry, for the first time for almost as long as he could remember, actually prayed. He didn't consider himself a religious person by any means. Being locked in a cupboard for most his childhood with no one coming to save him had sort of squashed that idea. The very fact that the Dursley's, who'd never gone to church a day in their lives, liked to use religion as another one of their excuses for why he was so much of freak, had served to convince him that higher powers did't exist.

It was just that with everything that had happened, Harry couldn't help but wish there was. And so he prayed that there was someone out there to hear him. Someone who would care about his lot in life. Someone who would help him. He just didn't want to be alone in all of this.

After a few minutes of that, as he started to feel increasingly foolish for giving into such fanciful daydreams, Harry pushed himself back into a standing position. He nervously tried to flatten his clothes, rubbed his eyes to make sure that they were dry, and even ran his hands through his messy hair a few times. He wanted to go check in on how his friends were doing, but didn't want to tip them off as to what he had been doing. Taking one last deep breath, he unlocked the door, and stepped outside, heading for the hospital wing where he figured his friends would be recovering.

Harry had already put his momentary weakness out of his mind, never once considering that there actually was someone out there listening. A being of immense power who sympathized with the young wizards plight. A being who started to form a plan on how he could help Harry out.

The sudden shining of bright sunlight through her window was enough to wake Lucy Heartfilia from her slumber. She resisted for a moment, squeezing her eyes shut even more tightly, but she gave it up as a lost cause a few moments later. Blinking the sleep away from her eyes, she looked up at the ceiling of her apartment, before glancing curiously at her window. It seemed to have been a steady breeze that was blowing the curtain inwards that had allowed the bright light to hit her. The reason she found this so strange was because she was certain she'd closed said window the night before.

That was when she heard it. The murmuring of low voices and sound of rummaging. Climbing out of bed, Lucy already had a good idea of just what was causing these sounds. Stalking across the room, and entering her kitchen, the seventeen year old Fairy Tail wizard was met with the familiar sight of a pink haired dragon slayer with his head stuck in her fridge, while a flying blue cat who could talk gave him instructions for whatever meal they were preparing with her food.

"What… are you two thinking? Breaking into my house, and eating my food." She began, her voice a deadly calm, but eventually the end came out as more of a shout. "AGAIN?"

Natsu turned his head to see her, actually having the gall to look somewhat surprised, though he didn't seem at all fazed by her slowly reddening face. "Oh, hey Lucy! What are you doing here?"

"This is my house you dimwit!"

"Wow. She's scary." Happy's voice piped up from his spot on top of the fridge."

"Yea, keep it down Lucy. Geez."

"Shut it cat!" She then turned her ire to the other intruder. "And you! Get your own food and stop eating mine!"

Stepping forward she grabbed a bunch of Natsu's shirt with one hand and with the other a handful of Happy's green bandana. She then proceeded to drag her two protesting guildmates across the floor and out the door. Natsu was yelling something dramatic about her being so violent and Happy was egging him on and pretending to cry.

"I'll see you both at the guild hall." Then she slammed the door shut, letting out a sigh. She loved her friends, she really did, but they never seemed to have any concept of personal space. Deep down, Lucy was pretty sure if they actually stopped doing stuff like this she'd find herself missing it.

Stepping back into her kitchen Lucy once again froze as she took in the sight of another member of Fairy Tail sitting at her table. Her friend, Erza Scarlet, sat calmly drinking a warm beverage. "Good morning, Lucy."

Staring at her for a second, Lucy finally threw up her hands in defeat, muttering to herself, "I don't even know why I try." She turned on her heel. "Fine. Just stay for breakfast. I can't seem to keep you guys out."

"Much appreciated Lucy!" The crimson haired, S-Class wizard called after her, making Lucy's eye twitch. The reason she'd given in so easily was because partly just sheer exasperation, while the other part was that Lucy was pretty sure she couldn't make Erza do anything she didn't want to. There was a reason Natsu and Grey were so terrified of their friend.

Arriving in her bedroom, she quickly went to get ready for the day. A bunch of her newer clothes had been destroyed in their recent battles with the Oración Seis, and take down of Nirvana, so she had to go with one of her older outfits. She donned her sleeveless white shirt trimmed in blue, that had a blue stripe across her bust. Next she shimmied into one of her, admittedly short, blue skirts. She attached her celestial keys to her waist next, before tying a blue ribbon around a portion of her blonde hair. Giving herself a once over in the mirror, she turned away satisfied.

Going back to check on Erza, she saw that the other wizard seemed done with her breakfast. "Are you ready to go Lucy?"

"Sure Erza." She looked around her kitchen, her face losing its smile as she saw the mess Natsu and Happy had made in their short time here. Erza's dishes were sitting there as well, but at least she'd had the decency to throw them in the sink. "I guess I'll just clean this up later."

"I'll have to punish Natsu for being so unmannered. He needs to learn not to be leaving such a mess." One metal gauntleted hand smashed into another as she spoke, before Erza strode out of the apartment looking severe. Lucy almost sweatdropped at the fact that Erza seemed to forget she'd contributed to that mess as well. Shaking it off, she followed her out, locking up behind her.

It wasn't a long walk to the guild hall, but Lucy went slowly to allow herself time to enjoy the nice weather. Many of the shopkeepers and other citizens greeted her along the way, either having become familiar with her over the last year or recognizing the guild mark on her hand. It was a nice feeling and only reaffirmed her faith that she'd made the right decision in following her dream. Sure, she'd been put in lots of dangerous and life threatening situations ever since joining, but her guild was like family, and she wouldn't give that up for anything.

Feeling the significant temperature change as Lucy stepped out of the sun and into the shade, she stopped for a moment as she looked up in awe at the guild hall. She still couldn't believe how big they'd made it when rebuilding. It was quite impressive and looked more like castle nowadays than anything else. Shaking her head, she moved to head inside when she felt a flash of magic energy behind her. Spinning around, already preparing herself to come under attack, she froze at the sight of one of her former guild mates, and current celestial spirits.

"Loke?" Her usually sauve celestial spirit looked positively ruffled. She hadn't seen him look like this since right before the whole incident where he had formed a contract with her.

"Lucy."

"What are you doing here? I didn't summon you."

"I brought myself here using my own magic power. I… the Celestial Spirit King wishes to speak with you."

Lucy blanched. "Th- th- the Celestial Spirit King… wants to see me?" Loke nodded. "W-why? I thought most Celestial Mages never get to meet him and yet I already have once before."

"That's true, this situation is practically unheard of, but he did ask specifically for you."

Lucy took a few deep breaths trying to calm her suddenly racing heart. "Ok… ok. I'll have to go get ready and then I-"

"There's no time. We have to go now." Loke then took her by the arm and they both disappeared from Magnolia and all ofEarth-Land in a flash of light.

For Lucy, the travel felt near instantaneous. She felt a small jerk on her arm from where Loke was holding it, and then a strange feeling in the pit of stomach, reminiscent of being magical vehicle as it goes over a particularly nasty bump, when all of sudden she was in a completely different place. She barely had a split second to marvel and the sight around her before, she realized that she couldn't breath. Beginning to panic, she began clawing desperately at her own throat as if it would somehow allow her to suddenly take in some air.

She felt something grip her wrists tightly, stopping her from hurting herself, as something else was placed around her neck. The moment she felt the object's weight settle across her neck, she found herself suddenly able to take in large lungfuls of air. She tried to regain her breath and her nerves as her heart hammered away. Lucy never wanted to experience that again, and decided right there that suffocation was last on the list for her prefered ways to die.

Regaining her bearings, she finally managed to get a good look around her and she was overwhelmed with what she saw. The floor below them and the paths spreading outwards were all made of a colourful stone but it was the sky and horizons around her that really drew her attention. It just looked like endless black nothingness that went on forever. Of course within their immediate vicinity she could see planet like objects floating around shining brightly with lights of all types. What surprised her was the amount of lacrima just floating around too. It was almost like magic was completely saturated into this place, like it was caressing her very body just for standing there. Glancing at Loke, she immediately noticed that her spirit seemed to be almost glowing, and she was sure he was feeling stronger than ever, leaving her no doubt to where she was currently standing.

"Is this the Celestial Spirit World?" She wasn't able to keep the awe and excitement from colouring her voice.

"It is young human girl. I asked my old friend to bring you here." A loud voice boomed out, making Lucy jump as she looked up into the giant mustached face of the Celestial Spirit King.

"What happened before? Why couldn't I breath?"

"It is forbidden for a human to enter the Celestial Realm unless given express permission from me. They will die unless I give them a trinket from this world." Lucy glanced down at the small necklace Loke had placed around her neck.

She still felt quite overwhelmed about being where she was, but she forced herself to think it all through. "I'm honoured, but… why exactly have you called me here?"

The giant almost seemed to peer down upon her a moment before answering. "You are part of a wizard guild on Earth-Land, are you not?"

Lucy was confused but answered. "Uhh... yes. I am a member of Fairy Tail."

"And in this Fairy Tail you take jobs?" Lucy nodded. "Good. Very good. Then, young human, I have a job for you."

For anyone looking at Lucy at that moment, they would have seen her eyes widen slightly at this news, but on actuality, on the inside, she was freaking out. She couldn't believe the Celestial Spirit King wanted her to do a job for him. She new this would be amazing for her reputation, and she could only assume it would pay very well. With thoughts drifting away at the thoughts for how many months of rent this might pay, she inquired about what he needed her to do.

"Much like this realm is a completely different world than Earth-Land, there are an infinite number of other dimensions out there." This snapped Lucy fully back to attention. "One such of worlds is known as just Earth. In this world, there is a young human wizard boy of sixteen years. He has been prophesized to defeat an evil wizard in his land, but has had no one to truly help him and is underprepared for the fight to come. He has experienced great loss, and his suffering has been so great that even reached me here in the Celestial realm." Lucy continued to listen to him, enraptured. If she hadn't just been pulled into the Celestial Spirit world herself, she might not have believed him. "This fact interested me, so I began looking into the young human, and has amazed to see that the young human truly is honorable. He has been putting his own life on the line to save others since the age of eleven. In the end, it is this that lead me to ask you to take on this job. Will you, Lucy Heartfilia, human wizard of Earth-Land, take this job issued by the spirit world, to help Harry Potter of Earth defeat the evil that he faces?"

"W-why me? I'm not even close to the most powerful wizard in Fairy Tail. Wouldn't someone else be better?"

"I haven't forgotten what you did for my old friend Leo the Lion. You are just as honorable as this young human boy. I've also seen how hard you will fight for your friends. That's what he needs, someone at his side to support and care for him like you can." Lucy felt herself blush slightly at the compliment. "You can teach him about Earth-Land magic while you are also the most likely to be able to use his world's style of magic as well. This mission will be dangerous, and unfortunately I won't be able to bring you home until you finish your mission, but the fate of this world may hang in the balance. Do agree to take this job?"

Lucy paused for a moment to think it all through. On one hand, this whole thing sounded incredibly dangerous. She didn't like the idea of going up against an evil wizard without Natsu, Grey, and Erza at her side. On the other hand, this would be an amazing experience, not just completing a mission for the Celestial Spirit King, but to travel to another world, and a chance to learn new magic. Whoever this Harry Potter was, he must be special if he drew the attention of the spirit realm. Knowing that this world was in danger, she couldn't just sit around and do nothing.

Decision made, she looked back up at the King. "I'll do it." The large spirit's face split into a huge grin. "So, I guess I'll have to go pack." Unfortunately for her, it seemed the ruler of the Celestial World was no longer listening to her. A wave of his massive hand opened a large tear in the very fabric of the world around her. It started to suck her in so she immediately grabbed onto Loke for support. "What? Are you sending me right now?!"

"Don't worry Lucy. You'll be fine. Just give any us spirits a call if you need us."

"That's not what-" She struggled to hold on, "I don't have any of my stuff with me!" Loke just grinned, loosening her hold on his arm, and allowing her to be pulled into the portal."

As she fell into the darkness the last thing she heard was the echoing voice of the King. "Good luck little human."

Harry Potter wasn't having a good day. He hadn't really had a good day since his godfather died, really, he hadn't had a good day since long before that. A year of Hogwarts run by Umbridge will do that for you. So, you may be wondering why, if he'd been having such a bad year, that he remarked on this day specifically more than others. Well, it just so happened that this day, of all days, was his birthday. The Dursley's had never recognized it in the past, so that didn't bother him, no, it was the fact that no note or gift arrived from his godfather that had made the day dismal. It just served to hammer home the reality that Sirius Black was gone, and he wasn't coming back.

It had been with this already negative disposition that he'd started his day. His Aunt and Uncle's behavior, though better since Dumbledore's Order of the Phoenix had threatened them, was still almost enough to make him lose his temper. He'd barely escaped the kitchen without saying something he'd regret, before nearly sprinting up the stairs, entering his room, and shutting his door a bit harder than intended.

He stood there for a moment, breathing heavy, looking around his room. He could see the birthdays cards and letters from his friends sitting where he'd left them. It probably been the longest letters he'd gotten from Ron and Hermione this summer. It seemed the information blackout on Number Four Privet Drive was still in effect.

He wasn't quite sure how he felt about that. The fact that Dumbledore was still keeping him from getting information about what was going on with Voldemort, added to finding out the information contained in the prophecy that had been hidden from him a month earlier, had left him plenty angry at the Hogwarts Headmaster, but he couldn't help the little voice in the back of his head that told him to look at what had happened when Harry had tried to take matters in his own hands. He knew Dumbledore was a good man, and did honestly care for him, something he did appreciate, but it didn't make any of this any easier to swallow. It was up to him and only him to defeat Voldemort, and he still felt like he was being kept out of the loop.

Brushing those thoughts away for now, Harry stepped forward towards his bed when he felt it. It was almost like a ripple in the air that sent tingles all over his body. The only time he'd felt anything even remotely similar was around Hogwarts. He'd figured it had something to do with magic. Before he could question it any further, there was a bright flash of light and something heavy slammed into him from above, knocking the air out of him as he fell to the ground.

Wheezing, Harry blinked his bleary eyes, trying to figure out what had just happened. As his vision cleared, he was surprised to see a large pair of brown eyes meeting his own, only inches away. The two stared at each other in shock for a moment before the strange girl who had just appeared in his room scrambled to get off of him. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't know he was going to drop me here."

Harry climbed back to his own feet as well, despite his now aching body. Finally taking a good look at the intruder, Harry felt his mouth go dry. She looked to be about his age, maybe a little older, and she was gorgeous. She had a pretty face, with cute little nose, full pink lips that looked more inviting than he'd like to admit, and of course her large shining brown eyes that he'd noticed before. All of this was framed by long blonde hair. Most of it was tied up in a ponytail by a blue ribbon, but a few strands were free to hang down beside either side of her face. Strangely, her ponytail was tied off to one side rather than directly behind her head, something Harry had never seen before, but it seemed to work for her.

Harry began to blush as his eyes continued to roam over the woman in front of him. It was kind of hard not to notice how well endowed she was, in fact, her shirt seemed to be nearly straining to contain her bust. Moving along with his train of thought, Harry tried to find somewhere safer to look, but unfortunately that didn't seem to be in his fate. Continuing to move his eyes downwards, Harry's eyes trailed along her thin waist that flared out at her nicely curved hips which were being hugged by a short blue skirt that matched the accents on her shirt and the colour of the ribbon in her hair. In his opinion, all this did was draw attention to her long bare legs. They looked incredibly smooth, and Harry couldn't help but wonder what it would feel like to run his hands along them.

That last thought was enough to snap Harry out of his stupor. He felt a little out of sorts. Not even Cho had ever affected him like this, though to be fair robes were a lot more conservative than what this girl was wearing. Shoving those thoughts aside, Harry fumbled for his wand, before managing to get it up and pointed at his uninvited guest. She looked at it with some confusion, but there was a touch of weariness there now.

"Who are you?" Harry hoped his voice sounded steadier than he felt.

"Woah! Calm down there." She waved her hands wildly, in front of her taking a step back. Looking around for a minute she focused her gaze back on him. "Are you Harry Potter?"

Harry tensed. He'd been cautious before, but now he couldn't help but feel that this might be some sort of trap. How else could an incredibly attractive girl appear in his room. It was probably some sort plot cooked up by Voldemort. He would get distracted by her… err… appearance and leave himself open for attack. Yea! That's gotta be it!

"What's it to you?"

Suddenly she broke out in a huge smile, surprising Harry. "So it is you."

"What?" Harry was feeling confused. "I never said that."

"No, you didn't, but that's only what everyone says when it is them and they're trying to be all mysterious for some reason." She gave him a triumphant look. Harry spluttered for a moment trying to think of something to say. Who was this girl?

Before he could say anything, something loud banged against the door, "BOY!" The door crashed open. His uncle stood there breathing heavy, his body filling the whole door frame. "What is all the racket I-" He stopped, his beady eyes darting around the room before zeroing in on Harry and the blonde beside him. If Harry wasn't so worried about what would happen next, he would have found the look of absolute revulsion the girl was giving his morbidly obese uncle quite funny.

"First my son almost was killed by some monster after you last summer," with shade his uncle's face was turning, Harry didn't think it wise to point out that even if the Dementor's had sucked out his soul, it wouldn't have killed him, "then a bunch of your freaks," he spit the last word out venomously, "had the gall to threaten me and tell me what to do in my home, but now it has just gone too far. I will not abide by you bringing some trollop into my house." His face was now beet red and Harry could see a vein in his temple throbbing wildly. "You all should have been exterminated a long time ago, but at the very least they should make sure you don't spawn anymore of your kind!"

His uncle took a step forward threateningly when he noticed the girl's hand go down curl around her whip. Harry's thought process completely derails for a second. Why the hell did this girl have a bloody whip? He didn't have much time to think about that before she had it unfurled. "Watch who you're calling a trollop buddy!" She really sounded pissed. "Why don't you just turn yourself around, and walk away."

"This is my house, and I will not be ordered around by some little slag like you." He pushed forward, his one hand on the doorframe to give himself leverage, only to recoil with a yelp as the girl's whip cracked down upon his hand. "You little bitch!"

The whip cracked again, this time hitting the floor right in front his uncle. Harry recognized it for what it was: a warning shot. Unfortunately his uncle seemed not to pick up on that, since after stumbling backwards, he moved to come at her again. He stopped once he got a good look at her though, his angry expression changing to one of fear. It was only then that Harry realized that the girl, her face set in a scowl, was glowing softly. He could feel the magic swirling again, and for some reason his eyes were drawn to a strange keyring on her hip. They seemed to almost be vibrating with energy.

"You're one of those freaks too!" His aunt arrived on the scene just in time to hear her husband's declaration. Her face took on a similar look of fear as well, though Harry could see a hint of disgusted contempt flash across it as she looked at the girl. It was a look he was quite familiar with, seeing as how it was the same expression she reserved anyone she disagreed with, and Harry knew this girl's outfit was not what his aunt would consider propre.

Luckily, she seemed smarter than her husband, "Vernon, let's go downstairs." He grunted something Harry didn't understand, but with a bit more of her insistence, allowed his wife to guide him away. "It would be best if you stay out of sight for a while." She glared over her shoulder, the door closing behind her.

Harry wasn't quite sure how to process everything that had just happened. The girl was obviously a witch and even more strangely carried a whip. He actually found it amusing how easily she put his uncle in his place, though it didn't do much to dispel his wariness of the situation. It was the glow she'd given off that had him most intrigued however.

"How did you do that?"

"Do what?" Her narrowed eyes which had been up until that point fixated on where his relatives had disappeared softened as she turned towards him.

"They glowy thing."

She cocked her head in confusion, "What do you mean?"

"Your whole body was glowing."

"Really?" She sounded surprised, as she looked down at herself. Harry couldn't understand how she hadn't noticed. She began mumbling to herself. "The only time I've ever had that happen was that time I tried to save Loke… I wasn't using that much magical power…"

Harry interrupted her, "Who are you? What are you doing here?"

"Are you Harry?"

He sighed. He didn't really care anymore. He wasn't sure why, but he was pretty certain she wasn't working for Voldemort. "Yes."

She smiled once again, her brown eyes shining. "This is probably sound crazy, but my name is Lucy Heartfilia, and I've been sent here from another world to help you complete your prophecy!"
