Chapter 2: Shibuya
"Good afternoon, TrackLine passengers, we have arrived at West Shibuya Station." The conductor began explaining exiting procedures. "Please don't forget your belongings or your children and watch your step as you're exiting the train. Please, everyone have a great day and thank you for choosing the TrackLine Railways." And with that, the announcement was finished. Sora stood up and grabbed his bag, lugging it over his shoulder lazily. The faded sky blue letters along the front of the bag were nearly impossible to make out. He walked down the aisle to the nearest exit and got off. His eyes brightened upon gazing at the large grey building with the television set into the front face of the 104 Shopping Center. He continued walking down from the train station and into the plaza. The view of the Scramble Crossing left a mixture of fear and awe inside of Sora, excitement filling his eyes. He strolled to the corner of the sidewalk and gazed around him. The new city was scary… yet interesting.
'I dive into frozen waves where the past comes back to life
For I'd fear the selfish pain, it was worth it every time
Hold still right before we crash cuz we both know how it ends
The clock ticks til it breaks your glass and I drown in you again'
Sora paused in his steps and pulled his from his pocket. In soft ivory letters, the name Naminé appeared on the screen to indicate a call. He pressed the answer button on the screen and held it to his ear.
"Hello?" Sora answered. A girl's gentle spoken voice answered on the other end.
"Sora?"
"Hey Naminé, what's up?" Sora asked.
"Sora, please tell me that you're on your way here…" Naminé said quickly and quietly, dismissing Sora's last question. Sora gazed up to the streetlight as it turned red, granting about 300 other people including himself permission to cross. Once on the other side of the bustling street, he resumed the conversation.
"Yeah, I'm coming. Just got off the train and walking through the the Scramble Crossing as we speak. You sound troubled…" He concluded.
"I-It's nothing…just please hurry." She muttered.
"Naminé, something's gotta be wrong if you're rushing me too. What is it? Is Selphie eating sugar again? If she is, I'm absolutely sure that Xion could knock her out cold until I get there." Sora smiled at his own words, hoping it could get a laugh, giggle, chuckle, or snicker out of her…
But to no avail…
"Sora, I— "Naminé began to speak but her end of the phone suddenly clicked then nothing but silence. Sora pulled his phone away from his ear to look to the screen, noticing an end call. He proceeded to get back in touch with her by tapping a few buttons on the screen and calling her back. He carefully held his phone up to his ear and immediately heard the most annoying call tone ever: the no connection tone. He sighed and hung up.
'Maybe she used up her minutes?' Sora thought. 'But she renewed her contract yesterday morning. Maybe her phone died.'
He contemplated this for a few minutes.
'No, she always keeps it charged. Must've been Selphie.'
He nodded at the thought in his head as he chose his answer. Selphie: The Romancing Ditz. Namine was most likely upset at Selphie for possibly eating a whole bag sugar and tried to call him for help. She had done it before. Sora continued on downward to A-East, passing random teenagers, gushy couples, distraught adults, and creepy guys in red hoodie sweaters. At one point, Sora compared not one but three different guys with red hoodies and noticed that they were the same, so he assumed that they were either part of a gang or some sort of cult. He never approached them about it, steering clear from them. As he passed a store, he took quite a long look at the window, not to see their wares, but to check himself over. A black tank top underneath his white short sleeved parka, which was unzipped, black skinny jeans with a silver chain hanging off the right side of his pants, and black and white checkered converse. A silver crown necklace that rested around his neck shined brightly from the sun's radiant glare; a present from Leon a few years back for his 12 birthday. Sora spun around twice to make sure everything (he was wearing) was in order. Then, with a small chuckle, he continued on his way. He walked as many teenagers either glaring or star-gazing. Either way, to Sora, it didn't matter. He never looked back.

Short chapter, I know. I'll make that up with the next one. Promise!
