Sasuke had just gotten word from her sensei, Kakashi Hatake, that Naruto had been on a mission for the last couple days. She hadn't expected Naruto would take anything out of the village just to avoid her. It was quite something she was not use to, though expected since she had struck him and yelled at him and called him a few choice names; one of which she regretted the most was calling him demon. She had seen the pain on his face as soon as she had said the word. Then he had to flash her that stupid dumb smile of his, the one where he hides his pain and act like what she said was okay. She despised it and she had made him do it.
Naruto had gone and she had been left alone to deal with Sakura and Kakashi, both of which knew she was on her period and had watched as she berated and practically destroyed Naruto with one word. Sasuke was the last person he had expected to hear the word from; her and Kakashi maybe even Iruka. Kakashi had put her training to use to the max which both helped her muscles and cramps but it just replaced one pain with another. Of course she knew why, he was deeply upset with her but he never was a talker always one instead to train someone into the ground until they realized and even then they would be kept working.
Simultaneously, it seemed Sakura was fine with the whole fiasco, the bubblegum pink haired "ninja" badmouthing Naruto as if it was fine. There was even a comment about the lack of parents not teaching him right from wrong. That earned Sakura a busted lip. The pink haired girl had looked up from her place on the hardened ground her eyes watered and wide in shock; as if Sasuke striking her wasn't something that happened before.
"I'm going home...I am tired and I currently discovered hatred for the color pink."
The secondary comment about her hatred for the color pink may have been a bit much but it was something she wanted to say without directly commenting to Sakura about how much she was wrong and not to mention Sasuke didn't have parents anymore. The whole comment stirred up bad memories of Naruto and her deceased family.
Walking home, Sasuke arrived at the crossroads that led to her home and toward the apartment district where Naruto's apartment was. She didn't like the area he was living in as the area around him tended to have a few druggies and prostitutes but they never bothered ninja. She took two steps towards her pathway before realizing she wanted nothing more than to see Naruto. He was returning from his mission tonight anyways, in a few hours. So she made a u-turn and headed off toward the blonde's apartment. It was another fifteen minute walk, though it was shorter to get there than if she walked to her apartment near the Uchiha clan grounds.
Arriving to the front door of his apartment on the third floor, she noticed the door was severely warped and and swollen. She tried to budge it by pressing against it was it was locked as well. Guess she would have to try alternative means. Pushing chakra to her feet she placed her sandal clad feet against the brick walls of the building and walked around to the window of what she assumed to be his bedroom. Pushing it open, she hopped inside and coughed at the musty smell. The room has discarded gear and clothes that smelt of sweat, likely his training gear.
"I knew he wasn't the best living person but Naruto...why didn't you say something...I would have helped you. He could have moved in so it wasn't this bad."
This was when she further realized that he was always eating ramen not just because he loved it but because it was all he could afford. His inferior gear, the orange jumpsuits no one in their right mind would wear unless they had too. Sure he liked the color but that was most likely due to the suits being a wholesale item or throwaways as she thought about it further. She was hitting the nail right on the head unbeknownst to herself.
"I have a few hours left till he gets back...I could probably clean this up some."
She spent the next fifteen minutes dusting things, sweeping and allowing fresh air in the home, or at least the bedroom and bathroom area. She wasn't a maid service after all but she could clean up some. She said this but by the time she was done with the bedroom and bathroom, it was nearly time for Naruto to return home. Going through the boy's dresser, she found some clothes she could change into once she washed up. Besides, she still hadn't showered after training and felt grimy like an eel or a toad submerged in mud.
Washing up and changing into a spare pair of undergarments she kept in a storage scroll, she placed the green shirt and black shorts she found in Naruto's closet and dresser on and looked at the clock. She still had half a hour until the young boy was suppose to be back. Of course she laid down on the bed now that her cramps and sore body was catching up with her. Maybe she could shut her eyes for a few minutes.
Of course the Uchiha heiress had heard him come in, her eyes barely moving to acknowledge his arrival. She was half asleep in a bed that wasn't hers but she had looked at the clock on the nightstand table and noted the time she heard the water turn on. After that she fell back asleep under the surprisingly comfy orange comforter on the full sized bed. It smelt like Naruto and that was much made it easy to fall back asleep.
Sasuke had awoken two hours and fifty minutes later to the shower still running. Sitting up in the bed she rubbed at her eyes before swinging her legs around off the bed. Her bare feet touched the floor and she made her way into the restroom. Eyeing the mirror steamed over as was the glass door but it was no longer warm she must have figured out the water was running cold now. Feeling as if something was wrong, she slid the glass door open and the first thing she noticed was the dried blood on the wrists of her blonde idiot.
Turning the water off, she pulled him out of the shower as her tears were already flowing. He had cut himself on purpose and she was laying in the bed asleep all the while. Wrapping a towel around his waist, she registered that he had finally acknowledged her presence.
"Sasuke-chan? What are you doing here?"
THe croak in his voice bothered her greatly as she never heard him so vulnerable before, not even when Lord Third had died in the attack on the village. She was quick to go and grab the first aid kit from under the sink. Wetting a freshly folded rag she had placed under there as well, she was careful to wipe the dried blood away. Of course this caused some of it to clear off the cuts and small dots of blood were beginning to form again.
"This is going to sting Naruto.."
The Uchiha heiress wrapped his wrists with gauze and bandages to help keep an infection out. While she finished up, she turned to glare at him with her sharingan flared up. She watched as he gulped nervously, likely because she was crying still.
"What the hell dobe? Why did you do this to yourself?! I was laying right there in the other room! You could have come and talked to me! Is this because of what I said?
Look...I'm sorry. I said it...because I knew it was going to hurt you but I didn't do it on purpose. I said it out of anger and it was wrong. I know you're not a demon or anything other people call you. You're my dobe and no matter what you can talk to me."
She watched his lips as he tried to form words but instead he just burst into tears and hugged her. She held him tight as he cried for what seemed like an hour. It was an hour and when he stopped she realized he had fallen asleep. She should have expected as much from the slightly shorter boy, as he had returned from his mission at some point and hadn't gotten any sleep.
"I called him my dobe.."
She blushed at this and further so at the fact he was only wearing a towel while doing so. She needed to get him dressed, and while he didn't have anything she hadn't already seen (hot springs incident plus on missions) it was different now that she would have to dress him, dry him off and get him in the bed.
"Okay, you can do this Sasuke. You're an Uchiha, he is your boyfriend and you would see it sooner or later."
