This story is set after Hook sacrificed himself ending with Emma's darkness. Here, Emma never went to the underworld to get him, and everyone's keep going with their lives.

Emma did not want to get out of bed the following morning even though she knew she had to; otherwise, she would be late for the meeting at City Hall. Going to these meetings never fascinated her, she just liked to go to meet with Regina and invite her to lunch afterwards. Today wouldn't be one of those days as the memory of last night quelled her desire to see the brunette. She wasn't able to be in the same room with her, she still had a lot to think about.

After tossing and turning in bed for a few minutes longer, Emma stood realizing that she had to go because it was her duty as the sheriff of Storybrooke, and well, there would be enough people present that avoiding Regina wouldn't be difficult.

Upon arriving at the meeting room, (late as usual. because even if she tried, she was always late), Emma saw that everyone was in their respective position, and that the meeting was about to begin. The accusatory glances were quickly dispelled as the meeting began. Only one glance remained on her, she could feel the penetrating gaze of Regina. Those brown eyes were able to pierce her heart... She didn't want look back so she sat, pretending to listen and appear as though she was paying attention.

After the meeting everyone began to leave quickly, the blonde in her attempt to flee, dropped her paperwork. Stopping to pick them up made her lose the advantage she had.

"Emma, are you ready for lunch?" asked the excited brunette.

"I'm sorry Regina... I have a lot of work to do, I can't this time", Emma answered insecurely. She watched the expression on the other woman quickly change.

The rejection hurt Regina, but that it was Emma who produced it, broke her heart. They had been through a lot, and she was used to spending her time with the blonde. Emma was her favorite person, and to her amazement, she preferred Emma over Robin, but the soulmate story made her believe he was her happy ending, she knew that was the only reason she had said yes. It was the safest option, after all, she wouldn't be alone, and she would be with someone destined to love her.

"Okay Sheriff Swan", Regina answered after a while, hoping that her heart wouldn't burst in the process.

When Emma arrived at the station, her father was doing rounds, so she had the place to herself and she could sit quietly to think...

What would she do? Would she speak with Henry? No, it would not be fair, the boy looked so happy when he got the news... suddenly her brain went on, and she recalled Henry's reaction that night. He wasn't entirely happy; the kid also disliked the forest dweller.

She pulled out her phone and wrote a text.

"Hey! Kid... Are you at home?" the reply came immediately.

"Yes mom, what's up?"

"I need to discuss something with you, it's urgent; can you come to the station?" She thought of writing that she would pick him up, but she didn't feel ready to return to the house where Regina would surely spend her days with Robin.

A few minutes later Henry arrived at the station, with a smile like if he suspected something. Emma took her time calmly telling Henry everything that had happened, and everything she felt for his other mother. And to her surprise, while Emma was crying inconsolably, Henry stood and hugged her tightly.

"Mom? What are we going to do? Will you tell Mom? We have to stop this wedding!" Henry said excitedly.

"I don't know kid", Emma answered incredulously. She couldn't believe her boy accepted her feelings towards his other mother so easily, "it wouldn't be fair for Regina, Robin is her soulmate, and I'm ... I'm just me... She'll be happy after all, and that's all that matters".

Henry wanted to hit her upside the head; he could not believe that both of his mothers were so stubborn.

"Okay, this is what we will do for the moment. While we devise a plan, we will go home to talk to Mary Margaret; maybe she'll have some ideas".

"Okay ... I ... We'll go now", Emma replied. She had not spoken to her parents, she still didn't feel ready, but seeing the support that Henry offered her, she felt like she could do anything.

When they reached the house, Emma almost had a heart attack, descending down the staircase was none other than the Queen herself. Wearing a gray dress, not just any gray dress, Emma corrected herself, "The Gray dress". This was the one she wore the day she ran out the door to meet her child who had arrived with a complete stranger. So much time had passed after that, so much had happened since.

While Emma got her shit together, she saw how Regina had already reached the exit. At the last moment she turned towards them,

"Bye Henry", the brunette smiled, but then in a more serious tone concluded, "Good bye Miss Swan"

Neither responded, both were left in shock. Emma for being called Miss Swan again (Regina only called her that when she was angry), and Henry by the reaction of his mother. Although, he could almost see a smile on the brunette face as she left, leaving Emma almost to collapse, and he just knew that everything would be fine.
