When Hiccup walked into class, she sat down at the back of the corner. Astrid was in front of her and she was sitting with Aster. The only people she knew in her class was Snoutlout, Fishlegs, and Ruffnut and Tuffnut. Despite not liking these people, aside from Astrid, Fishlegs, and Aster, she still loves this class because this class is about mythical animals and their new topic this year was about dragons. Last year they already learned about the common mythical creatures people used to believed like werewolves, vampires, and unicorns, but dragons has a different subject. They're odd carnivorous creatures that looked like large beast. Astrid turned around and smiled.
"Who was that guy you were talking to?" She asked. "He looks totally hot."
Hiccup shook her head. "Astrid."
"Is he new?"
"Yeah he just arrived yesterday."
"Makes sense, we always get a few new students every month."
Hiccup nodded with agreement. Every month there's always a few new students at Berk High because this boarding school has good education and fantastic teachers. Some are crazy, but they're good teachers. Since Hiccup's father ran the school, he likes to pick the best of the best. He doesn't want his students to miss an opportunity on education.
Then Gobber, Hiccup's teacher and godfather came in with...Toothless? Hiccup's eyes widened. He has a class with her? All of the students started talking at once. Hiccup turned her gaze to the window next to her. This is so weird. She just talked to him and now he's in her class. Hiccup could hear all of the girls whispering of how hot Toothless is and how he's even taller than Aster. Hiccup has to admit he's handsome, but Aster still holds a special place in her heart.
"You have good taste, Hiccup." Astrid smirked.
"Astrid!" Hiccup hissed. "Shut up! I just met the guy. You know I like someone else."
Astrid nudged her head at Aster, who was reading his textbook, while Hiccup mouthed shut up to her. Astrid giggled and turned her direction back to the new student. Hiccup sighed, trying not to look at Toothless. She never thought they'll be in the same class. She thought he's going to be in a different class than her. Maybe it's just because of his schedule.
"Aright lassies, this is our new student, Toothless." Gobber said. "be nice and an no fights. Toothless go sit with-"
"Hey, Hiccup!" Toothless called.
Everyone turned their direction to Hiccup. Chuckling nervously, Hiccup waved at her new friend. She wondered how did toothless noticed her at the very back in the corner. Usually the students never noticed her, even Aster, aside from Astrid and Gobber, but then again Toothless did said he has good eyesight.
"Hi Toothless." Hiccup muttered.
"Anyway, I was saying, go sit with Hiccup." Gobber pointed out. "She's the only one who has an empty seat."
Toothless quickly walked over to the table and sat next to Hiccup. Many of the girls were staring at her with shock of how she could be friends with Toothless. It's not her fault they met! They just met! It's not like people will assumed their dating...right? As Gobber began class, he started off talking about the types of dragons in the dragon manual. Hiccup read the dragon manual before and it was cool, but the Night Fury dragon she created felt like it completed the mysterious side of a dragon. She took out her notebook and started doodling a bit. However, in the corner of her eyes, she could see Toothless writing something down on his notebook and he doesn't seemed paying attention. Toothless set his notebook on the table and slide it next to her.
So we meet again, Hiccup!
Hiccup stared at his note. He's passing notes to her during class? Sure Hiccup is sort of a goody two-shoes, but then again, she already knew about dragons anyway so it won't hurt if she doesn't pay attention to Gobber. Smiling, Hiccup wrote back.
Yeah and to be honest, I didn't know we have the same class together.
I didn't know you had the same class with Aster.
You know Aster?
We're roommates. He's okay, he's just too serious.
You'll get used to it. Can I see your schedule?
Sure!
Toothless dug his hand into his pocket and took out a folded paper. He unfolded and slide it over to Hiccup. The paper was a bit crumbled, but Hiccup didn't mind. As Hiccup stared at the schedule, her eyes widened.
Toothless Fury
8:00-Mythological Creatures (M.C)
9:30-Algebra
10:00-Science
11:30-Lunch
12:40-English
1:55-Free Time
3:15-Physical Education
Hiccup blinked. The only classes they have together is Mythological creatures and P.E. Hiccup smiled a bit. At least they have their last class together. That means they get to hang out some more and do homework together. On the other hand, Toothless's schedule is similar to the Hofferson twins. They both have the first two and the last three classes together. For Snoutlout, Tuffnut, and Ruffnut they only have P.E together, while for Fishlegs is Algebra, Science, P.E and English. Aside for having the same M.C class together, Toothless's schedule is better than her's. Hiccup never had free time on her schedule because it's full of her core requirements and the electives she always wanted to take. Handing the schedule back, Hiccup wrote:
We have P.E together.
Awesome! Hey, do you know any great sushi place here?
Yeah, why?
I love fish!
lol, I like fish too. There is Berk's Sushi Palace. It has everything, even eel.
Urgh, I hate eel! It taste weird!
I don't like eel too.
If I have time, do you mind if you could if me a tour around Berk? It's been a while I lived here and everything is so different now.
Of course! What are friends for. So when are you available?
Next week on Saturday
That'll work besides it'll be a week before Halloween. I need to buy some candy and make a costume.
Can you make me one?
Really? -_-
Please! :'( We can go trick-or-treating together and scare little children.
You're such a kid. Okay, I will.
YAY! No one can't deny candy!
Before Hiccup could write back, someone took the paper. Hiccup gulped as she glanced up. Her eyes widened. Gobber was reading the notes Toothless and here were talking about. The class giggled, while Astrid was smirking at her, wiggling her brows. Hiccup shot a glare at her. Seriously, just because she and Toothless were handing notes to each other doesn't mean anything. Hiccup and Toothless stared at each other with sheepish smiles. They're so in trouble now.
"Have your conversation after class, you two." Gobber handed the note back to Hiccup.
"Yes sir." Toothless and Hiccup both said, blushing with embarrassment.
When lunch came, Hiccup came into the cafeteria waiting for Toothless. She had her lunch with her, which is a simple chicken salad with garlic bread and a brownie. She couldn't get over what happened at M.C. That was so embarrassing and Hiccup couldn't look at Toothless after that. At least Gobber didn't read it out loud. That would've made it ten times more embarrassing. Then Hiccup noticed some shadows in front of her. She glanced up. In front of her was Snoutlout, the twins, Hookfang, and Barf and Belch. Hiccup groaned. This can't be good.
"Waiting for someone loser!" Snoutlout sneered.
Hiccup stared at him blankly. "Yes and will you please leave?"
"We heard you made a new friend today, loser." Hookfang said. "My friend Toothless."
Hiccup frowned. "You know Toothless?"
Hookfang scoffed. "Stormfly, Barf, Belch, Meatlug, and I all knew him in middle school. We just want to let you know that you're wasting his time. There's no way he'll hang out with a loser like you. So why not you just leave? I don't know why Astrid always hangs out with you. You're such a burden."
Hiccup pursed her lips as she clenched her fists. Every time when she encounter them, they always make her look bad because of what she is. So she's weak. She's not strong like them. She's not talented like them when it comes to sports. Hiccup is just herself and that's what she is. Her!
"I can hang out whoever I want." Hiccup snapped. "Why not you leave, instead? You're making my IQ low."
Without warning, Hookfang took Hiccup's lunch and threw it in the trash. Hiccup got up from her seat. She wanted to go back and get another lunch, but in the school, you only one meal for every breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Snoutlout laughed at her as Ruffnut yanked her braid. Hiccup yelped, pulling away from her grasp, but Hookfang took out a large water bottle and pour it all over her head. Hiccup's teeth chattered as the water sunk into her clothes, but Ruffnut, Barf, and Belch got out more water bottles and pour it all over her. Tuffnut snatched her wrist, while Snoutlout cracked his knuckles. He smirked as he jerked it back. Hiccup's heart pounded. She's always get bullied by Snoutlout and his gang and they always find a chance to beat her up.
As Snoutlout launched his fist at Hiccup, a grab seized his wrist. All eyes went on Toothless. Hiccup blinked. He came! Toothless growled as he squeezed Snoutlout's wrist. It looked like he wanted to break his wrist in half. Tuffnut released Hiccup's wrist and Toothless lets go of Snoutlout. He glared at Snoutlout, to the twins, Hookfang, and Barf and Belch. Hiccup has to admit, the way he glared at people is actually frightening.
"Hey Toothless." Hookfang smiled as if nothing had happened. "We were just talking to your little friend here-"
"I heard the whole thing, Hookfang." Toothless snarled.
"You're not going o hang out with that little loser, right?"
Toothless growled. "Shut up and leave her alone. I hang out who I want and I chose to hang out with Hiccup. So leave before I rip you apart."
Hookfang scoffed as he and his gang walked out of the cafeteria. Toothless took off his leather jacket and put it around her. Hiccup opened her mouth, but Toothless took her wrist, taking her out of the cafeteria. As they went inside the fall, everyone was staring at them with confusion. Hiccup doesn't blame them. The whole school knows that Hiccup is a useless klutz. Now they're seeing her being dragged by the new guy and wearing his jacket. Toothles looked viciously angry as if someone had forgotten meat on his sandwich. They went up to the door and opened it. There was a set of stairs. Toothless and Hiccup walked up until they reached to the top. When they got there, Toothless opened the door. They both entered outside, while the door closed behind them. The two sat down as Hiccup's stomach growled.
"Sorry about what happened." Hiccup apologized.
Toothless smiled. "It's alright. Hookfang's a jerk, but he's still a good friend. Barf and Belch are like his little minions. Who were the others?"
"That's Snoutlout, my cousin and those are his friends the twins Ruffnut and Tuffnut." Hiccup replied.
"That's your cousin?!" Toothless exclaimed. "Really? A cute girl like you have an idiot cousin like that?!"
Hiccup nodded. Did he just called her cute? Hiccup shook her head. That must've been her imagination. There's no way he called her cute. She must be too cold and her ears are making her hearing something off. Then a growling sound came. Hiccup flushed. Her aching stomach wants food and she doesn't have any. Toothless snickered a bit. He reached into his pocket, pulling out a bar wrapped in silver. Hiccup stared at Toothless and back at the bar. She took it and open it. An aroma of fish smelled through the air. Hiccup made a sour face. This smelled awful!
"It tastes better than it smells." Toothless said.
"You sure?" Hiccup asked.
Toothless nodded. "Yeah, I made it!"
Gulping, Hiccup took a bite. She froze. This taste awful! Hiccup slowly chewed it, nodding at Toothless. She wanted him to turn away so she could get her water bottle out of her bag and drink it down. Toothless tiled his head and made a gulping sound. Hiccup's eyes widened. He's serious, isn't he. With a deep breath, Hiccup swallowed it and shuddered.
"What do you think?" Toothless asked.
"It's alright." Hiccup relied. "Not my type of fish bar though."
Toothless ruffled her hair, getting out two brownies out of his jacket. He tossed one to Hiccup and she caught it. Hiccup opened the wrap, taking the brownie out and ate it. She smiled as the sweetness of the chocolate eases her mind. Being here with Toothless makes her happy. She feels like she doesn't have to worry about anything.
"I saw you making googly eyes at Aster." Toothless smirked.
"Wh-What?!" Hiccup exclaimed.
"You're really easy to read Hiccup. It's not too hard to noticed."
Hiccup grumbled. "Yeah I do. I liked him since we were kids."
"I can help you get with him." Toothless said. "I'm going to be your best wing-man! Since Aster and I are roommates, I can persuade him to tell me. I can also take you guys out for the northern lights! It works every time!"
Hiccup giggled. Toothless seemed to be into trying to get her and Aster together. She wondered how far he'll go. Then again he might embarrassed her, but all friends do that, including Astrid. Although the northern lights are pretty. Hiccup hadn't seen it since she was six. Hiccup switched her gaze over Toothless's red shoe. She wondered why he's wearing different color shoes. Did he accidentally picked the wrong shoes?
"Toothless, can I ask you something?" Hiccup questioned.
Toothless nodded. "Sure, what is it."
Hiccup was about to ask, but then a shouting voice screamed, "THERE YOU ARE!"
Hiccup and Toothless jumped onto their feet. Behind them was Stormfly, Astrid, Meatlug, and Fishlegs. Then there was silence. The six teenagers stared at each other with a mixture of anger and shock. Stormfly and Astrid stared at Hiccup and back at Toothless. Hiccup wasn't sure if she should say anything, but the way Stormfly were staring at them to be surprise she and Toothless knew each other.
"This was the girl you've met?" Stormfly demanded.
"Yes." Toothless sighed. "I didn't know she was your friend alright."
"Next time don't ditch or else you'll suffer a thousand spikes." Stormfly threatens.
Toothless nodded quickly. "Alright, alright!"
Stormfly stared at the two and smirked. She and her friends walk out of the room, closing the door behind them. As the bell rang, Hiccup sighed. At least she has P.E with Toothless. That'll be fun. Besides, they're playing dodged ball today and Gobber is their P.E teacher for it. He might be surprised how Gobber teaches when it comes to P.E
"I'll see you at P.E." Toothless smiled.
"Your jacket." Hiccup remembered as she was about to take it off, but Toothless placed his hand over her's, forbidding her to stop. Her cheeks heat up a bit. Hiccup gazed up at Toothless.
"You can give it back to me at P.E." Toothless explained. "You're still soaked from those idiots."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I don't mind, Hiccup. You're my friend. I don't want you to catch a cold."
Smiling, Hiccup wrapped her arms around her friend. Toothless chuckled as he did the same. Hiccup was glad she had a friend like Toothless. She never thought he cared this much about her. It makes her warm inside. He's like the first guy friend she ever had. All the guys she ever talked to were just her acquaintance and she barely spoke to them, like Fishlegs. For Toothless, they technically talked all day and it was the first long conversation she ever had with a guy without talking about if she could give some guys her notes or borrowing her textbooks. As the two broke apart, Toothless put his arm over her shoulders.
"Can I walk you to class?" He asked.
"Sure why not?" Hiccup giggled.
"If your idiot cousin and his friends bothered you again, tell me." Toothless smirked. "I will make sure they'll never see the light again."
"I'll keep that in mind."
The two laughed, imagining Toothless beating up Snoutlout and his friends. Hiccup would pay a hundred buck to see that. They smiled as they opened the door and walked out of the roof as they headed to class.
