Author's note: Here we go, chapter two. I started writing this before posting the first chapter, so...let's do this.
I know the chapters are short. I can't change that. Therefore, I will probably end up doing a lot of chapters relatively often.
Have patience, I only have so much processing power.
Disclaimer: The only things I own in this story are the eridian artifact that I made up, the planet that I made up, and the OC's that I made up. Everything else belongs to Gearbox Studios.
Chapter 2
Within a few short months, I was able to make my way to Pandora. How did I do this? Let's see...
*Begin Flashback*
"Woohoooo!" Claptrap shouted. We were having the time of our lives, even though we couldn't actually feel anything. If you're wondering what was going on, let me start by saying that we had been STRAPPED ONTO A FUCKING ROCKET! I'm not upset, however, since this rocket was making a long trip around the universe, visiting every planet. Unfortunately for me, I discovered that the rocket didn't actually land directly on the planets, rather it would orbit for a few days, then leave.
During the orbit, the rocket was scheduled to drop supplies onto the planet's surface. Which meant that I would have to hijack a supply crate. Oh, what fun it is to ride on a one way trip to Hell.
I discovered shortly after opening the Vault that the suit of armor I obtained wasn't being worn by me. It was me. I found this out by checking in a mirror. I definitely wasn't a human any more.
It stood to reason that since I was no longer human, or alive for that matter, I had no need for nourishment. I was starting to enjoy being a piece of Eridian metal. To be sure of what happened to me, I needed to find Serrin. He witnessed the whole thing.
I brought a CL4P-TP unit with me because...I don't even know. I thought it was a good idea at the time. I found the little guy trying to sneak onto the rocket that we were riding. He's not too sneaky.
I had four hours until the scheduled supply crate launch. I looked over at Claptrap, who was in hibernation mode. I reached over to him and tapped his eye, which instantly lit up. Suddenly, the robot jumped to life.
"I am alive!" he shouted. I signalled towards the hatch, which was slowly opening. "Okay!" he replied. I began to undo the powerful wires holding us against the rocket's side. They fell away with ease. I grabbed Claptrap and pushed up towards the hatch, which was reached within thirty seconds. I had brought one of the wires in order to fasten Claptrap. I wasn't planning on attaching myself to the crate. I didn't want to get stuck.
Which meant I was going to ride the crate. Bareback.
*End Flashback*
That was a rough landing, I'm not gonna lie.
I stood on the train platform, waiting for my destiny. There were a few others there as well, so I assumed I wasn't the only passenger. These people were probably Vault Hunters. I wasn't anymore. I had become a Headhunter. A few minutes ago, a commotion broke out involving a large psycho, a Siren, and a band of Rats. I personally thought it was pretty cool to meet a Siren. This should make for an interesting story.
There was a tall man wearing a mask also waiting for the train. I found him rather intriguing. A short, muscular man was leaning against the wall. Another man was slumped against the wall on the ground. He looked like a retired soldier to me.
However, the Vault Hunter that I found the most interesting was a girl, maybe nineteen or twenty years old. Her auburn hair was put up into two pigtails. There was something about her. I wanted to introduce myself, but you know all too well I can't speak anymore. I suddenly had an idea. I bent down and began to scrape my fingers in the ground. Within a minute, I had engraved my name in the cement. What an accomplishment.
The other Vault Hunters didn't seem to notice, except maybe the tall man with the mask. He was quite the suspicious character. I stomped the ground next to my name, leaving a strange footprint. I didn't notice, however, that I stomped so hard that everyone was staring at me, even the psycho.
I bowed politely, as if I were formally introducing myself. To my surprise, the tall masked man bowed back. He looked at my name in the ground, then spoke.
"So, you're name is Tyr?/It's nice to make new allies./I am called Zer0." The other Vault Hunters stepped forward.
"I'm Axton," the soldier said.
"My name is Maya." The Siren's voice was firm.
"I AM KRIEG, THE NIPPLE SALAD CHEF! AND THE CONDUCTOR OF THE POOP TRAIN!" the psycho shouted. Everyone stared at him. It would take time to get used to this one.
"I am Salvador, amigos!" the short man exclaimed.
The pigtailed girl spoke up. "I'm Gaige."
What a nice name.
We quickly returned to our previous activities. The train was scheduled to arrive in ten minutes. I decided to walk on the tracks, and Krieg joined me. You would expect him to learn from his mistake, since he was hit by a cargo train when he first showed up, but apparently he enjoyed repeating his mistakes.
I sat on the rail. Occasionally, I glanced left and right, checking to see if the train was near. After a while, I saw the front of a train rapidly approaching. I quickly stood up and signaled Krieg to follow suit. We hopped back onto the platform. The train looked like it had maybe fifty cars. The train finally reached the station. We boarded the second car. I could sense something bad in the air, given how much I trusted Handsome Jack.
This was going to be an interesting ride.
Author's note: Review. Just do it. Thanks.
