CHAPTER 2
"Mum! It's time I get to the Weasley's!" Summer called out, dragging her trunk behind her.
"Okay. Say hi to Molly for me, okay?" Callie asked. Molly Weasley, Ginny's mother, was Callie's good friend. "Enjoy yourself! I'll meet you at King's Cross!" Summer nodded. She put out the fire and stepped into the fireplace, her left hand holding her trunk while her right hand held some Floo powder.
"The Burrow!" Summer said and dropped the powder onto the fireplace. Then she was spinning. She hit the floor of the Weasley's house.
"Ouch." Summer said, heaving herself up. "Oh, hi Harry." Harry was a bit startled at her sudden appearance. "Er, what's up?"
"Nothing much. Other than you appearing from the fireplace." Harry smiled. Summer brushed the ashes off her clothes.
"Welcome, Summer, dear." Molly Weasley greeted Summer.
"Hello, Mrs. Weasley. My mum says hi." Summer smiled.
"How nice. Ginny is upstairs. Second floor. First room to the right." Mrs. Weasley smiled. Summer nodded. "Ginny! Summer's arrived!"
"Coming, mum!" Ginny almost ran down the stairs.
"I just got your letter! Six tens! I mean, six tens! To me it's literally impossible!" Ginny said.
"Six tens? Wow! Summer, you must be an excellent student!" Mrs. Weasley smiled fondly.
"Not really." Summer blushed. She was always very modest.
"Now go on, you two." Mrs. Weasley said. Summer heaved her small trunk with her up to Ginny's bed room where two extra beds had been set up. Summer placed her trunk on one of the beds and sat on it.
"Literally, six tens!" Ginny kept saying over and over again.
"Oh, come on, Ginny. I'm not that good at everything." Summer said.
"Well to me you are!" Ginny said, flopping on her bed. "Brought your ticket?" Summer opened her bag and pulled out her ticket.
"Yup, right here." Summer nodded. They talked more. After eating two delicious meals, Summer fell asleep.
The next day, just as they had finished lunch, Ashley came the same way as Summer did. Floo powder.
"Hello, Ashley!" Summer greeted her friend.
"Six tens? You almost gave me a heart attack!" Ashley said.
"Er...I thought it wasn't that big of a deal." Summer said.
"Not a big deal? Not a big deal? I suppose you are one of the best students in the second-year!" Ashley exclaimed as they moved her trunk up the stairs to Ginny's room.
"So um...when will we be going to the World Cup?" Summer asked, wanting to change the subject. Just as Ginny was about to reply, there was a Tap. Tap. Tap. on the window. It was Cammulus.
"It's Cammulus!" Summer said, opening the window to let the eagle-owl in.
"Cammu-what?" Ginny asked.
"Draco's owl." Summer replied without a thought. She was busy trying to untie the parchment from Cammulus.
"Ooh, what's he write to you now?" Ashley asked. Summer unfolded the parchment and read:
Dear Summer,
Six tens! Wow! Now, that's something! Anyway, we might see you at the World Cup finals. You're going with the Weasley's right? Prime seats? I'll probably be able to see you. Meet you at the World Cup Finals!
Love,
Draco
Ashley read over her shoulder, her mouth curling into a mischievious smile.
"What now, Ashley?" Summer sighed.
"Oh, nothing." Ashley smiled slyly. "Hey, Ginny! We've got to arrange a date for them!" She whispered loudly in Ginny's ear.
"Oh come on, guys." Summer rolled her eyes. She wrote a quick reply:
Dear Draco,
Yeah, I'll be going with the Weasley's. See you at the World Cup!
Love,
Summer
"That owl looks quite oddly familiar." Harry's voice could be heard. He was standing outside Ginny's room with Ron and Hemione.
"Definitely." Ron nodded in agreement as Summer attached the parchment to Cammulus.
"It does?" Summer glanced at the eagle-owl flying off.
"Must've seen it somewhere." Harry muttered as he, Hermione and Ron went downstairs.
"You didn't tell them right?" Summer asked.
"Nope. You know how they are with the Malfoys. Always at war with each other." Ginny shook her head.
"Why do you guys think they are at war?" Summer asked, confused.
"I dunno. Maybe they dislike each other for a reason." Ashley shrugged.
"What I've heard is that Draco's always boasting about his being a pure-blood and he always calls Hermione a Mudblood." Ginny said.
"It's not Hermione's fault that she was Muggle-born though." Summer said.
"Oh, it's time for dinner!" Ginny glanced at her clock. "We can talk later." The girls hurried downstairs to the garden where Hermione's cat, Crookshanks, was chasing a garden Gnome. For dinner, they ate delicious chicken and ham pie along with boiled potatoes and salad.
"Mrs. Weasley, you are a wonderful cook!" Ashley said, eating a spoonful of salad.
"Why, thank you, Ashley." Mrs. Weasley went pink a bit. Fred and George were talking about the World Cup enthusiastically. Percy, now working at the Ministry, was talking about cauldrons.
"Now, all of you. Time for bed. You all need to be up early for the World Cup." Mrs. Weasley said.
"When are we leaving?" Summer asked.
"I dunno. Around dawn?" Ginny shrugged, yawning.
"Maybe. Need to get to a Portkey soon, don't we?" Ashley stretched.
"What's a Portkey?" Summer asked.
"It's kind of like Apparating but many people can do it at once. It's basically a Muggle object. When it is time, the Portkey would transport all the people holding on to it to their destination." Ashley explained as they walked up the stairs.
"Cool." Was all Summer managed to say before she flopped onto her bed and went to sleep.
