Castiel woke up with a small smile. He stumbled out of bed and to his parents room.
"Christmas! It's Christmas!" He squeeled. "GET UP!"
His mom and dad finally woke up, groaning and protesting. Castiel giggled and rushed into the living room. His mouth dropped open as he stared at all the presents.
"Wow, look at all those presents, buddy." Castiel smiled proudly and then sat on his mothers lap, who was sitting on the couch. he was covered in wrapping paper by the end. He almost didn't notice a lump covered with black wrapping paper.
"Whats this, daddy?" Castiel asked as he grabbed the package. The two parents looked at each other, both silently asking the other if they got it. Castiel ripped the wrapping paper with excitement, and was both confused and happy when he found out his present was a black and red tiara with real jewels.
He quickly put the crown on his head and then everything went black.
Castiel woke up in a police place. He felt sticky and tired. He looked down at his pajamas only to find them soaked in blood. Castiel looked around and saw a man with a suit on making his way over.
"Hello." The man smiled and knelt down. "My names John, whats yours." Castiel bit his lip and whispered his name. "Castiel, huh? Pretty name." That caused the six year old to blush. "How old are you?" Castiel held up six fingers, forgetting the fact that he was in a new place and he didn't know where his parents were. "Wow! Six! My boy's six. I got another who is two."
Castiel talked to the man about different things for a little bit until one of his parents friends walked in.
"Can I talk to you?" She asked the man Castiel was talking with. She sounded nervous.
"Be right back." He told the little boy, before getting up and following the women.
"Only the adoptive father survived, but he keeps saying things like 'He's a monster' and 'We need to end him before he kills all of us'. I think it could just be trauma from being attacked by god knows what, but then when we offered for his son to come in he just started screaming." John looked back at the blood soaked boy who was so obviously terrified.
"Who will the boy go to then?" He asked cautiously.
"Probably back to the orphanage. Poor kid. After people read about what happened to his last adoptive parents, they will stop being interested in him." John sucked in a breath before making a rash decision.
"I'll take him." The women studied him to see if he was joking. "Me and the boys are moving and Dean needs a friend. Castiel is a cool kid, and surprisingly, I feel like I should take him in."
After signing paperwork and explaining to Castiel that he was going to stay with John now (It took a couple weeks for it to all finish), Castiel met Dean and Sam. The boy took an immediate liking to the older of the brothers.
"Hello!" Castiel grabbed Deans hand and shook. Dean looked bewildered which made his father laugh. It had been a while since he laughed. Maybe Cas would be good for them.
"Lets go boys." The three raced to the Impala, and of course, Dean got there first so he rode in the front. Castiel sat in the back next to the smiling Sam.
An hour into driving, Castiel started telling wild tales about monsters, mostly demons and angels. John wondered what kind of stories his parents told him. Most people didn't know about monsters, especially not a 6 year old boy, but he enjoyed listening. All of a sudden Castiel made Sam and Dean characters in his wild tales. All of them listened until Cas drifted off and fell asleep. It wasn't long until the other kids were too.
