Me, Eric, Lily and Ellie, all of us super jumped our way to the battlegrounds. No one else had felt that weird and different feeling I caught down my back and below, but I didn't want to say anything because I thought I might distract my friends with my 'story's'... but oh well, I can't complain. I mean nothing ODD has happened...yet...
Eric: "YEEEEEEAAAAAAAH!"
Ellie: "What's making you sound like Marx all of a sudden?"
I hit Ellie with a bothered look.
Eric: "Oh, nah... It's nothing! Only the fact that my favorite gear is on SplatNet now! FINALLY!"
Marx: "Speaking of SplatNet, when was the last time you all checked your records?"
Lily: "Good question Marx, but I personally don't care how I do, as long as I have fun with you guys, I don't pay much attention to it.
Ellie: "I guess I'm curious about it sometimes... but the last thing I think about is my own records."
Eric: "We could always check that later, what we need to do now is focus on the objective at -"
The whole place started to shake. Heavily. Like an earthquake was about to take place here specifically. Everyone else was freaking out, but I already got a feeling we were up for something we didn't expect would happen.
Lily: "All the salmonoids are here, but where are all the power eggs!?"
Eric: Yeah, I don't see any! What's going on!?"
Ellie: "And A LOT more salmonoids are appearing than usual! And we're supposed to be on a low level!"
I knew it. I thought he was lying, but I was wrong. He planned something else for us... don't know why he did, but IF we can get out of this... salmonoid battle royale type of mess were in, I hope I'm in for a good reason/excuse he has for us.
I informed the others on my take of what's happening here, and surprisingly, they immediately took my words for it. Looks like they're following my lead on this... but I got NO clue on how to take on these guys for a whole 3-4 waves! I honestly doubt we can even make it out of a single wave if we're lucky for how much salmonoids are appearing.
Lily: "Marx, what do we do!?"
Ellie: "Yeah Marx! You were the one who had seen this coming, probably form a mile away... you should have SOMETHING up your sleeve like you usually do!
I- I froze. I couldn't say anything to help them. I basically panicked... I was... scared. Scared of not getting splatted, but of DYING. For real.
*SLAP*
I caught a quick hand to my left cheek. It was Eric's doing. I didn't know what was up with the guy at the moment, but then he told me that they all needed me. I was surprised at those words. Especially from Eric. The leader of our squad. I don't what's up with me right now, but for the sake of my friends, I need to snap out of it!
Eric: "Marx? Marx!? MARX!"
I finally snapped from my little shock. Thanks to Eric.
Marx: "HUH- WHAT!? I-what's goin' on guys?"
Ellie: "Thanks to Eric, he finally calmed you down."
Marx: "Oh... thanks for that! I really needed it."
Eric: "What we really need is a plan, and the right person who can come up with that is none other than Marx!"
Lily: "Marx!?"
Ellie: "Marx! Seriously!?"
Me? Why ME!? This is... new. No, this is strange. Why would Eric, of all people want to choose me? I'm nothing special... I'm just a show off, who never listens to anyone else. What am I really good for to help out my squad in a situation like this!?
Marx: "I still don't get it. Why? Why me?"
Everyone had stopped, and just looked at me. Weirdly. Like they couldn't figure out if it was really me inside my own body talking. They won't stop looking, is it weird to ask that? I can't figure this out... why did Eric want ME to figure this whole thing out? I don't get it...
Lily: "Marx, is everything alright?"
Marx: "Huh-oh... everything's fine. I just wanna figure something out."
Ellie: "What?"
Marx: "Eric chose me... why? Why me? Is it so wrong to wonder about something like that? We're not out playing Turf War or even Ranked Battles! I dunno, I just-"
Eric: "You done yet? Because that's not the Marx I know... the Marx I know is eager and ready for anything! The Marx I know will be hyperactive for just about anything you can throw at him! He'll take it head on with that cocky smile on his face! I mean, whats there to be afraid of? I don't see any Dynamo Rollers anywhere! So come on Marx... pull yourself together, because I know... no, WE know you can do it!"
He's right. What am I doing complaining!? I got this in the bag! Even though I don't salmonoids in general, I can still pull through for my squad! I mean, that's what makes a great inkling after all!
Marx: "Okay, I've come up with a plan!"
Ellie: "Whoa! That quick!?
Eric: "Let's hear it!"
Marx: "It's pretty simple, and I doubt it's going to fail so here it is!"
My squad trembles in suspense...
Marx: "Basically, all we have to do is split up and go different ways, only to lead the salmonoids to different paths, and then FINISH EM OFF OURSELVES!"
Ellie: "..."
Lily: "..."
Marx: "Did I explain it wrong or something? (I hope not...)"
Eric: "That actually makes sense... I personally think it's a bad idea to all be in one place, making the salmonoids job easier, bringing ALL of them to one specific place where all they're targets are! It's genius in fact, good one Marx!"
Ellie: "Shouldn't it partly be Eric's plan too? I mean, he IS the one who explained it to us after all..."
Eric: "No. It really was all Marx. I just broke it down into littler pieces of info, that's all! (It's because I believe in Marx, and the rest of you should. But it seemed like Marx almost didn't believe in HIMSELF a while ago, but a little motivation was all he needed!)"
We all got to our selected spots, and waited a bit. Waited a bit for more of the creatures to come out of the water... and they did. In fact, a bunch of them did. But that`s only on my end of the map! Just imagine the others and how they`re handling it! I mean, I guess it`s alright, because for the random weapons we get, I got a regular old Splattershot, Eric has a Bamboozler, Ellie`s got a Clash Blaster and Lily has a regular pair of Splat Dualies. It was a long fight, a VERY long one in fact. But literally two hours have passed by, and as I expected... we pulled through! We met back up in the middle of the map, and the rest of the guys were basically PRAISING me for my 'well thought out plan'... well, Eric and Lily of course. Ellie`s face started to turn red, quickly gave her back to me, and was still denying the fact that it was my plan... man, why does she always gotta be so cold when it comes to me...? Whatever. But what I really care about is Mr. Grizz! HE HAS SOME EXPLAINING TO DO!
Marx: "I can't WAIT to hear that Mr. Grizz's explanation for this!"
Eric: "I personally want to know too! Even though it's really late and no one would know on what happened just now. But still... WHAT HE DID WAS CRAZYYYYY!"
Whoa... funny to hear Eric like that!
Ellie: "We all can't wait to see Mr. Grizz, but we're not going anywhere if we don't get a move on!
"Ehh, shes right. I really can't wait to give Grizzo a piece of my mind! But we need to move our feet first before we can do that. Few minutes have passed until we made it back at Grizzco, we couldn't find shady old Grizzo anywhere. We all started to look around for him but we got nothing. Until Lily found something from Grizzo; a small note. To make sure it was from him alright, Eric read it out loud.
Eric: " Okay, here's what it says: (I had something to do, so I took the initiative to leave early, but about your recent experience on Salmon Run... I wanted to have a little fun and messed around with you guys! So I went on my way to set your super jump marker to a DEADLY level of Salmon Run! Hehe... sorry if your mad, but I knew you all would come out alive because you all have great potential. Not as a squad, but EACH one of you, are capable of something, something GREAT! Whoops, did I go off track? Hehe, sorry again, but please feel free to stop by and get back to REAL work! ~ Mr. Grizz)"
Well, that was quite the excuse... actually, I wouldn't say it's an excuse... but I somehow don't know how to put this! But after that, we all parted ways and went home. I of course had to go through my SECRET way home. Because if I go through the front door, I'll ALWAYS be greeted by my cranky little jellyfish friend Edmond. But to tease him, I always call him Eddy! So I have to walk through a little dark alley, shoot up some ink through a wall and go through my bedroom window. (Don't worry, I always have to leave it open...)
Marx: "AAAAAAHHHHH!"
Edmond: "Welcome home... MARX!"
Well whaddaya know... Eddy's here to greet me... BUT IN MY BEDROOM!
