It was a discovery K.C. wished he had never made. He found his father alright - sick in the Namco Hospital. The two Pucks were devastated.

They walked into Puck-Man's room to pay him a visit. And there was Puck-Man, laying on his bed, hooked up to all sorts of machinery. It appeared as if he was on life support.

"Dad?" asked Pac.

"Dad? We love you, Dad!" cried K.C.

"Y...y..es... I l..ove you too..." Puck-Man responded. K.C. and Pac were thrilled that he wasn't dead.

"What happened, Dad?" asked K.C.

"Oh... son... well... I got a cold in my giant nose... The doctors say it could be fatal."

"That's terrible!" shouted Pac.

"It looks as if you will have to manage with getting your own food. Those ghosts... ugh, they're awful. But you don't want to starve. Please make me proud. Always remember that I love you both."

"Us too, Dad. Us too." said Pac.

"Please go. I bet you're very hungry. They can't hook you up to a tube of liquid dots like here. Go and eat. Please."

"OK. Goodbye." K.C. said quietly.

And with that, the Pucks left. It was now up to them, up to them to take on the evil ghosts.
