Chapter 1

Sup guys I'm back! Before you start reading I apologise about the coding error from the Prologue, It shouldn't happen again.(I actually dont know but if it does I will do my best to fix it, just bear with me.) Anyways onto the story!

Previously...

Wait! You said you would take me with you!"

"Well I suppose I said that didn't I? But I do believe that such a statement could interpreted in many different ways. I could just take you with me... or I could simply take you." Heracles grinned lecherously and began walking towards me. Before I could scream for help, Heracles dropped like sack of potatoes.

In Heracles' place was Percy, Who had his Huntsman knife(AN: Just search up "Huntsman Knife" on google and look at the first image. Yeah I know Huntsman knives weren't made back then but they are super cool knives so sue me.) hilt pointing towards where Heracles' head was.

Percy then ran up to me and said, "Zoë! What were you thinking? Why would you help him? Our sisters would disown you!"

" I... I don't know... I guess I was just so caught up in wanting to leave..." I stammered

Percy began looking around and said, "Never mind that, We need to leave now! Before our sisters find out! And before this pompous asshat wakes up!"

We? But this is my fault, why are you coming with me?"

"Zoë, That has got to be one of the dumbest thing you have ever said. I would never leave you as long as you don't leave me. And besides I want to see the outside world too!"

I quickly got up and retrieved my sword and ran towards my room, where I grabbed a backpack and stuffed it with clothes, Nectar, Ambrosia, and my weapons. During this time I thought Percy was doing the same. Little did I know Percy had already packed up and was stabbing Heracles where Apollo don't shine.

Now:

Percy POV:

I watched as Zoë quickly got up, grabbed her hairpin, and ran towards the house. When she was completely out of view, I walked up to Heracles' and stabbed him where Apollo don't shine. 'Serves him right', I thought. Zoë always taught me to respect women and treat them as my equals. After wiping my blade on his tunic, I picked up the Golden Apple of Immortality. I looked at it for a few moments before deciding to hold on to if for now.

"Perseus! What did you do!"

'Ah shit, I guess from someone else's perspective it looks like I murdered him, Not that I would mind if he was dead', I thought bitterly.

"Get this mess out of here! This boy is getting blood all over the flowers!"

Of course, Arethusa only cares about the flowers. She doesn't even care about the 'dead' body.

As I dragged Heracles' body down the mountain, Well, more like roll, but who cares about him. Anyways I noticed his lion pelt and saw that it was glowing. I picked it off his shoulders and took a look at. It was extremely light, but felt very durable. While I picked it up, I accidentally dropped my knife I was still holding in my hand. The knife bumped into the pelt and made a loud clang! I stared at the pelt in awe, realizing that this was the pelt of the Nemean Lion. After staring at it for a few seconds, I put my knife in its sheathe and decided to keep the pelt as a spoil of war.(AN: I mean he defeated him, did he not? Heracles is an ass anyway.) I wrapped the pelt around my shoulders and watched as the pelt transformed into a black and brown tunic.

When I got to the bottom of Mount Othrys, I noticed that I was on new territory now. Excitement began buzzing throughout my body of the thought of an adventure.

"Percy!"

"Yeah Zo-Zo?", I said without turning around.

"Dont call me that! And why is he here!"

I turned around to see Zoë decked out in leather armor, consisting of a breastplate, vambraces, boots, and shin guards. She also had her bow and quiver slung over her backpack.

"Jeez Zo-Zo, You act like we're going to war.", I joked.

Zoë sighed and said, "We have to be prepared Percy. We probably won't come back here again for a while."

I smiled sadly at that, realizing I come back home for a long time. All of a sudden I was grabbed into a hug.

"What was that for?", I asked.

Zoë pulled me into a hug again, but this time she kissed me on the cheek.

"That was for saving me from Heracles, and that was for coming with me."

"Family sticks together. Right?"

"Right."

With that I shouldered my bow, Took one last look at Mount Othrys and trudged off into the woods with Zoë tailing behind me.

Ha you thought I would end it here? Well luckily for you I thought it was too short and decided to keep going.

Third Person POV:

Trees and plants sprawled throughout the forest floor, leaving Zoë and Percy to walk aimlessly through the thick forest. As they walked mosquitos were buzzing around them, constantly bothering them. Vines and bushes spread sporadically across the forest floor hindered their movements as the two of them continued walking into the night. The weeds and vines were a new change, as they were used to a beautiful flower garden, not a dirty forest floor. The pungent odor of a forest swamp was filling their noses as they struggled to find a open clearing to make camp.

As the two of them walked through the night, a quiet growl could be heard deep in the forest. Percy thought he heard a faint growl coming from his left but decided that it was Zoë's stomach. Soon they came upon an open clearing where the light of the moon was shining upon them. Percy and Zoë decided to make camp in the clearing as it was late in the night. While Percy was setting up a campfire Zoë said,

"Percy! I'm going to go look for some wood for the campfire and go hunting for food. You stay here and set up the tents."

Percy just responded with a, "Aye aye Captain."

Zoë just rolled her eyes and trudged off into the woods. Zoë decided to look for some wood first as it was the easier job. Ten minutes later, Zoë came back into the clearing with four large pieces of wood and ten smaller pieces. Percy watched as Zoë propped up the four larger pieces and put the smaller pieces in between the four bigger ones. She picked up a piece of flint and swiped her hunting knife against it, erupting a spark of flames that soon spread.

Percy continued setting up the tents while Zoë trudged back into the woods, intent on finding some dinner for the two of them. Zoë calmly walked through the woods, trying not to make too much noise as it will scare away her prey. As Zoë walked deeper and deeper into the forest she felt a shudder go up her spine. Feeling as if something was watching her, Zoë quickly looked around. After finding nothing, She decided to shrug it off. As she continued walking she noticed the chill she felt got worse. Turning around, she looked to see something very unusual. The tree that was across from her had a marking on it. To be specific it looked as if a giant wolf scratched the tree. Three diagonal scratches. The shock of realization spread throughout her body.

Zoë felt the chill again, only this time she knew what was coming and quickly turned around to see six pairs of glowing red eyes surrounding her. She quickly pulled out her bow and arrows and watched as six medium-sized hellhounds walked into the clearing. She carefully took aim, She expertly released an arrow that easily made its way into the closest hellhound's brain cavity. Seeing their friend killed, the remaining hellhounds pounced on her, giving her the chance to quickly shoot one more in eye before dropping her bow and grabbing her dual hunting knives. Zoë slid her knife across the third hellhounds stomach, causing it to burst into a pile of gold dust.

The remaining three hellhounds quickly backed off, noticing that they were at a disadvantage. The biggest one, seemingly the leader, howled loudly. In no time flat five more hellhounds joined the party. Zoë cursed at the sight of reinforcements, Not wanting to waste time she quickly picked up her bow and shot three arrows in rapid succession towards the newcomers. She watched as three arrows sprouted from the biggest hellhounds neck and burst into golden dust. The remaining seven hellhounds quickly surrounded her making her wary. She notched another two arrows and shot them towards the closest hellhound, but she realized her mistake one second too late. The hellhound to her left pounced at the moment she let go of the string, killing the hellhound, but giving the other one the chance to dive at her. Zoë would have had her neck snapped in half, if it weren't for her inhuman speed. Sadly, her speed was not enough to evade the large cut she had acquired from the hellhound.

Zoë looked down at her arm to see the extent of the cut, only to watch in disbelief as her normally golden ichor was red without a speck of gold in it. The remaining hellhounds pounced at her, using her shock as an advantage. Zoë quickly snapped out of it, only to get scratched in the leg once again. She quickly stabbed at the charging hellhound to her left, watching in morbid fascination as her blade slammed into the face of the hellhound, bursting into dust not a second later. She quickly dived to the left, only to be to tackled in midair. She slammed into the tree that was closest to her causing her to scream in pain.

Zoë slowly got up using the tree to prop herself up. She knew she hit her head when she was tackled, as her vision was swimming. She grabbed her bow and notched two more arrows, carefully aiming, she expertly released them. The two arrows flew towards the two closest hellhounds, eliminating them. Deciding that the remaining four hellhounds were too close, she pulled out her hunting knives. She met the charge of the first hellhound, watching as it flew(AN: Not literally, just another way of saying jumping.) toward her. She quickly slid under it at the last second, running her knives over its stomach, killing it instantly. The remaining hellhounds began circling her, swiping its claws at her every so often to keep her from running. She continued to block the swipes of the hellhounds as they got closer and closer. Soon she was pinned against the tree with nowhere to go but forward. Deciding that she would rather go down fighting, She threw her hunting knives at the one on the left, killing it. Before she could pull out Riptide, the middle hellhound smacked her with its paw, sending her flying twenty feet back.

Zoë tried her best to sit against the tree, but her entire body was aching with pain. Her left arm and right leg bloodied from the scratches were bleeding profusely. The two remaining hellhounds ran and jumped towards her. She closed her eyes admitting defeat, 'I'm Sorry Percy', she thought sadly. She clenched her eyes closed waiting for the inevitable...

Ha! You thought I would end it here? Gotcha twice in one chapter. Luckily I'm super nice and I know the pain of cliffhangers. Anyways onto the story!

All of a sudden she heard a familiar twang! and a roar of pain. She snapped her eyes open to see golden dust pouring onto her body.

Percy POV:

I watched as Zoë walked back into the woods. As I continued setting up my tent, I couldn't help but worry for her. She was all that I had left. If I came back to the garden I would be severely punished by my other sisters. They probably think that I was the one who helped that pompous spawn of Zeus. 'Arethusa probably told father about what happened', I thought bitterly. I couldn't care less about what my other sisters thought about me but I always tried my best to impress my father. Yes I know I'm a daddy's boy but I'm proud if it. I just hope that father won't believe what she says, although it would be pretty hard to find a plausible explanation for Ladon being replaced by a mountain of gold dust.

By the time I finished setting up camp I was pretty hungry. 'I wonder whats taking Zoë so long.', I wondered. I grabbed my bow and arrows and trudged off towards the direction Zoë went. I slowly walked through the forest, careful not to step on any stray branches or fallen leaves. As I notched an arrow I saw a flicker of movement from the corner of my eye. I turn to my right to see a large rabbit about twenty yards out, nibbling on some sort of plant.

I carefully aimed at the bunny and expertly released the arrow. I watched as it sailed through the air and landing in the rabbits neck, giving it a painless death. I picked up the rabbit, pulled the arrow out, and shoved it into my bag. I walked back into the camp and sat down on a leg next to the fire. I pulled out my Huntsman knife and the rabbit and began skinning it. After I skinned it, I cleaned out all the inedible parts and grabbed a long stick. I began to whittle it, using my knife. Once the stick was sharp enough I stabbed the rabbit with it and put it over the fire.

As I waited for the rabbit to cook I decided to go look for Zoë. She has been gone for a while and its beginning to worry me. As I followed her trail, I heard loud stomping coming from my right. I watched as a pack of hellhounds ran past me. I continued following her trail when all of a sudden I heard a loud scream of pain. My eyes widened as I realized who and where the scream came from. Quickly grabbing my bow, I began to run in panic while screaming Zoë's name.

By following the sound of her scream I quickly found her. I came upon a clearing to see Zoë, all bruised and battered, leaning against a tree with her eyes closed. My first thought was that I was too late until I saw her move. I looked to my right to see two hellhounds jumping towards her. I quickly notched two arrows, carefully took aim, and let them fly. I watched as my two arrows tore through the necks of the two hellhounds, pouring gold dust all over Zoë.

I quickly ran up to her and took a closer look at Zoë's wounds. I could see a large scratch on her left arm and right leg, Also her head was bleeding slightly. I grabbed her into a hug and said,

"Zoë! What did you get yourself into this time!"

Zoë coughed and tried to talk, only for me to clamp my hand over mouth.

"Never mind, You can tell me later. For now keep quiet while I treat your wounds.

I quickly grabbed my bag and pulled out some Nectar and Ambrosia. I shoved a large piece Ambrosia into Zoë's mouth and waited for to start chewing before I grabbed the nectar and began pouring it into her wounds. I watched as the cut on her leg and arm began closing up along with the one on her head.

I quickly got up and picked up her hunting knives and put them in my bag. I slung her bow and quiver over my shoulder before helping her up. As we walked back to camp, she explained to me about how she was attacked by a dozen hellhounds. By the time we got back to camp, she had finished explaining and thanked me for saving her once again. Since we were both tired, We decided to share the large rabbit that I had caught earlier.

After we ate dinner, we took turns washing at the nearby river. I knew Zoë would be tired so I her sleep, while I take first watch. I climbed up a large tree that was next to my tent and sat down on the branch. I looked up at the night sky to see the moon and the stars. I continued to stare at the stars while trying my best to be on the lookout for things. Little did I know I was being watched by the same night sky that I was looking at.

Line Break

I woke up to hear Zoë yelling my name. I groaned as I sat up trying to shake away the need to sleep. I quickly put on some clothes and walked out the tent only to see him and his camp surrounded by two dozen girls with a silver fetish. Did I mention that the two dozen girls were armed to the teeth? Or that they had two dozen arrows pointed at me?

And done! Ok this time I'm done for real. Now I feel like a hypocrite. I just said that I didn't like cliffhangers but now I'm giving you guys one right now. Sorry but its 4 in the morning and I'm tired as hell. See you guys next chapter.
