Chapter 2

I tiredly stumbled out of my house, trailing my hyperactive brother as he bounced around and rambled on about his new "friend." I was not to particularly impressed by this new "friend" and wished Feliciano would shut the hell up, but I didn't have the energy to get into an argument this early in the morning. To make matters worse, Antonio came bounding up the sidewalk yelling my name. I could feel my head beginning to explode.

"Could you be quiet!" I yelled, shutting both Antonio and Feliciano up.

"I'm going to talk to Luddy." Feliciano said as he quickly scurried away and caught up with a tall blonde German.

I ran a hand through my hair, accidentally pulling out a large amount of it as I did. I cursed under my breath and reminded my self that I needed to not touch my hair if it was going to stay in as long as it possibly could.

"Lovi are you okay?" Antonio asked.

"I'm fine." I replied.

"But your hair..."

"Look, its just from the chemotherapy. It's nothing."

"Okay."

Antonio had a hint of concern in his voice, but I blew it off. I had bigger concerns like how the fuck am I going to pass my Spanish exam today. If I don't pass it, the cancer won't kill me, my grandpa will.

"Lovi you look worried. Is it about your hair?" Antonio asked.

"What? No. I'm trying to figure out how to pass my Spanish exam today." I replied.

"Really! Why didn't you say so? I'm fluent in Spanish!"

"Your shitting me right?"

"Nope!"

"You may just save my grade. Let's meet in the library during lunch."

"Okay! But your going to have to pay me back somehow."

"What? How?"

"I guess you'll have to find out."

Antonio skipped ahead and I quickly caught up, harassing him about the "payment" until we got to school and had to go to class. That damned bastard. I have no idea what I'm getting myself into, but then again, it is to save my only failing grade so it may be worth it.

At lunch, I went straight to the library where Antonio was waiting for me.

"Okay Lovino lets get started." he said as I sat down next to him and pulled out my Spanish binder.

We spent the forty minutes quickly reviewing the vocab, imperfect tense, and preterit tense. The main problem was figuring out which one was imperfect and which was preterit. Antonio explained it in a different way than that dumb ass teacher and it made total sense. By the end of lunch I was practically telling stories in the past tense all with correct grammar.

"See Lovi! You can do it!" Antonio said.

"I know!" I replied, ecstatic that I was going to pass the test.

Suddenly the bell rang and I gathered up all my stuff.

"Have to get to Spanish!" I said.

"Good luck! We can talk about the payment later." Antonio said as he winked at me.

"Just don't make it anything weird."

I turned and quickly left the library. I was the first in my Spanish class and so ready for that exam. Once we had finished the exam, the teacher graded the papers with the extra time and handed them back. I got a ninety-eight percent. FUCK YEAH! I raced outside once the dismissal bell rang and found Antonio waiting for me.

"I GOT AN A!" I screamed as I shoved the paper in his face.

"Great Lovi!" Antonio replied.

"So what did you want?"

"As payment?"

"Yeah.

Antonio leaned in inches from my face. I could feel my face turn red as I was captivated by his bright green eyes.

"I...want-Lovi what's wrong with your nose?"

I shook myself out of my trance and wiped my nose, leaving blood behind on my fingers.

"Fuck. Its a nose bleed. An effect of both my cancer and chemotherapy." I said as I pinched my nose to stop the bleeding.

"Are you going to be okay?!"

"Yeah I'll be fine. What did you want as a payment?"

"Oh. I wanted you to go to the movies with me."

"Okay, but no funny buisness."

"Okay! But Lovi?"

"What?"

"What's funny buisness?"

I rolled my eyes. This guy was really oblivious, more so than my brother, but I couldn't stay away from him. Everytime I saw him, I got the butterflies in my stomach. He was the only one in a long time that I easily let my guard down around, but I have no idea what that means.
