Chapter 2
She woke with a start, bolting up right and whipping her head around, her long blonde hair hitting her in the face. She stopped for a moment, putting a hand to her head where a dull ache had started. She looked around slower this time, taking in the dirt and rocks beneath her and the swaying of the trees above.
"Henry?" Emma called, looking around for her son. "Regina?" She called next, hoping to see the brunette coming toward her to scold her. She got up slowly, turning in a circle to take in all the sights and sounds around her.
Then it all came back to her and she staggered slightly, throwing out her arm to hold onto the tree beside her. She sucked in a deep, trying to calm her racing heart. She waited for a moment before letting go and stepping forward. She had to find Henry. Henry was her first priority because if anything happened to him she'd never forgive herself; she's also pretty sure Regina would kill her. She smiled, thinking of the brunette before grimacing slightly. Regina wouldn't be herself. Or, at least, she wouldn't be the women Emma knew. Would she even remember Emma? Would she remember Henry? While she stood there she was snapped out of her thoughts by footsteps, lots of footsteps. She ducked behind the tree she was previously leaning against.
She hear the footsteps get closer and peaked from behind the tree. There was a group of men. The one at the front clearly the leader as he held a little boys hand. She figured they were related with they're brown hair and green eyes. They couldn't be too bad if they had a kid, right? There only seemed to be five people following the man and child. They were looking around them, taking in the surroundings and watching for danger. At least that what she assumed since they all had a sword at their sides, all except the lead man. He also had a bow on his back.
She decided to approach them. She took a deep breath before walking out in front of them, her hands up in a sign of surrender. The man at the front stopped, his free hand going to his sword, and raised an eyebrow at her.
"Who are you?" He called to her, voice hard but betraying his curiosity. She then realised what she must look like to him. Wearing a leather jacket and jeans with a gun holstered on her hip and showing due to her raising her hands.
"Emma Swan," Not lowering her hands, her voice strong but soft, showing she was no threat to them. He looked at her then and his grip loosened slightly on his sword.
"Do you know Neal?" He asked. She looked surprised, her hands lowering very slightly.
"You know Neal?" She questioned.
"Emma?" Another voice rang out, this one distinctly feminine. The crowd of men parted slightly and a women stepped forward. Her armour still as untouched as the first time they had met. Her black hair, brown eyes and dark skin contrasting with the group of men.
"Mulan?" Emma questioned, looking at the warrior. She smiled at seeing the other women, liking the idea that someone she knew was there. "Never thought I'd see you again," Emma remarked.
"Indeed," Mulan said, also smiling very slightly at the blonde and holding out her hand for a shake. The saviour took her hand and gave it a shake with a grin. They might not have been on good terms when they left it, but decided they'd put it behind themselves for now. "What are you doing here?" Mulan questioned, letting go of her hand.
"Short version or long version?" Emma asked, cocking an eyebrow.
"Mulan," The man that had first spoken said. Mulan turned around and nodded to him before turning back to Emma and schooling her features.
"You can tell us the long version once we set up camp, it is not safe here," Mulan said. She then turned her hand and waved it at the man and child. "This is Robin Hood and his son and these," she heard Emma snort and mutter something like 'Of course it's robin hood' before she turned and waved her hand at the rest of the men, "are his band of marry men." Emma looked at the men and noticed them eyeing her suspiciously. She looked around again and noticed the lack of a certain female.
"Where's Aurora?" Emma asked, turning back to Mulan. She watched the other woman's face harden further and suddenly wished she hadn't said anything.
"She is with Prince Phillip," Mulan's voice was now hard and void of emotion. The blonde wanted to ask how they had gotten him back but decided against it. The warrior then turned around and gave a nod to Robin before speaking. "We should be leaving," she stated before moving back to the back of the group, the men clearing another path for her and shooting daggers at Emma.
"Ms Swan," Robin said, drawing her attention from the small crowd of men. She looked at him and waited. "Would you like to walk with us?" He asked, she smiled.
"Call me Emma," She said before walking toward him and joining the front of the group.
Authors Note: Sorry for the late update, I had exams. I'm on holidays now so you'll be getting chapters at random intervals through out the next 2 weeks. This is pretty much a filler chapter and Mulan will be a bit OC through this.
Thanks for reading!
