Sorry this chapter took so long to write, as I've been battling major writer's block on this story. So reviews and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Also the town of Huntersville Missouri is a fictionalized place; any resemblances to any town is purely a coincidence.
Fifteen years later
John awoke to the midafternoon sun streaming in the window above the bed. He is still sore from the beating the poltergeist put him through the night before.
The small cabin is quiet as Dean is currently on his two week furlough. Much like Rumspringa for the Amish, Hunter tradition dictated that when reaching the age of nineteen, teenagers in the community would be able to choose to go live the life of an outsider or stay within the hunter community. While John knows Dean is able to keep himself safe, John can't help but be worried about him. Bobby would say it is because John and Mary had 'kept the boy on a tight leash'. But John figures that since losing Samantha, he and Mary have a right to be overprotective parents.
Mary had mentioned a possible lead on Samantha's disappearance. She is probably at the library doing her research into the case. John hopes that she is successful as the case has been almost an obsession for her in the past years.
How had his life ended up in a hunter's compound, hunting a demon who hadn't surfaced in almost 15 years.
A few weeks after Samantha had disappeared; Mary had broken down and revealed many bone chilling details about her past and her theories about whom, or should he say what had taken their daughter. John didn't want to believe her; he couldn't believe that something from the depths of Hell had taken his innocent baby girl.
John still remembers the feeling he got in the pit of his stomach when he had come home from work and found that Mary had packed her and Dean's belongings and left. It had taken almost two months for John to find them; after having to consulting a psychic to figure out that Mary had taken Dean to Huntersville, Missouri; a small town in eastern Missouri which is a strong hold for Mary and her cohorts.
Completely isolated in the Ozarks, Huntersville had the appearance of a hunting town crossed with a military camp. It had a general store, weapons shop, library, and a hospital clinic. Anyone that managed to stumble upon the community would believe they were passing through a very small mountain community.
John still firmly believes that the only reason that he had been able to find Mary, was because she had let him. When he found her, John's first thought was to take Dean and return to Lawrence; convinced that his wife had gone completely crazy. But after a very loud argument, Mary had somehow convinced John to believe some of what she was saying.
Then he had been tricked into going on ghost hunt with some of the others. After that night, John could no longer deny the existence of the supernatural.
After that, Mary had allowed him to stay with her in the hunter community. He had undergone an intensive hunter training program to learn how to be a hunter. It was then that Mary shared with him what she had learned about the disappearance of their daughter. John was shocked to discover the fact that several other babies had also been taken; all on their six month birthdays. There were no witnesses, no signs of forced entry; the police had no clues on who had taken the children. The only thing that stood out was that a number of the children were missing from their cribs, but thought to have been dead following a house fire. Many of the children had lost a parent in those fires.
The question arose in John's mind about why the fires had happened to begin with; Mary had offered the theory that the parents had interrupted the kidnapping. He doesn't know what he would have done if Mary was killed by the demon like many of the children.
Mary is convinced that Samantha is still alive; her heart not allowing her to think of the worse. Mary had even insisted on having a bedroom set up for their missing daughter. While John can't bear the thought of his baby girl at the mercy of a demon; and prays that Samantha was at peace.
Getting out of bed, John knows he should probably join Mary in the Library; otherwise she will go off on an investigation on her own.
A world away from John, a young woman also is starting her day. Today she will be given her first mission to begin the completion of her training. As she dresses, Sadie tries to push the images that haunted her dreams out of her mind: a blond haired woman, a young boy, and a dark haired man. The images had been coming more and more frequently in the previous weeks, and Sadie can't help but believe she should know them.
Sadie is a teenager of about fifteen years old. Her long dark, brown hair is currently pulled back into an elaborate style. She is wearing her favorite black halter top and black tactical pants. Reaching up, Sadie tucks a wayward strand of hair behind her ear. As she does, she notices the sigil on her wrist. Like the others, Sadie has a sigil burned into her wrist. Carefully she covers it with a wristband; as it tends to draw to much attention to her when she is out in the world.
Before she leaves the barrack that she shares with the girls of her unit, Sadie takes inventory of her weapons. She had successfully concealed seven weapons on her person: 4 knives, a dagger, a revolver, and a pistol.
As she leaves the barrack, Sadie is suddenly attacked by an unseen attacker. As soon as Sadie is able to get to her feet, she instantly takes a fighting stance. As if by magic her dagger appears in her hand and ready to fight. The mysterious attacker is on her before she gets a chance to even brace herself. But a lifetime of training takes over and Sadie is able to defend herself. The next few minutes are a blur, until the fight ends with Sadie sitting on her attacker's chest; her dagger pressed to his throat.
"Get off me, Sadie. You need to consider Jenny Craig before you crush my chest." The attacker complains from the ground.
"Nice try Scotty. But you got to work harder than that to top the best." Sadie says. "and you're just made that I beat you again."
Suddenly the sound of a man clapping could be heard. "Well done, Sadie. You've obviously been practicing hard to pin Scott so easily." The Man said as he appeared from the shadows; his eyes glowing a menacing yellow.
"Yes Sir." Sadie said as she got up, offering a hand to Scott as she did so.
"And you Scott. You need to keep training or else you might become too weak." Azazel said.
"Yes Sir." Scott said as he left to do his daily training.
Azazel paid him no mind as he turned his attention to Sadie, his personal favorite. Sadie was strong and braver than the others; qualities that would have made her a feared hunter if he hadn't intervened and took her. It was a stroke of genius on his part to take a hunter's child. And the best part was that the humans had no idea that it was him who had stolen the children. And now he was going to test his star student in the most personal way.
"I have a special mission for you, Sadie. You are to spill the blood of a hunter. A Winchester, in fact. One of them has left the camp, so it should be easy for you to overpower him."
"I will make you proud." Sadie responds. Her eyes briefly glow yellow before going back to her normal hazel.
