I am STILL not going to write this story (If somebody else wants to, go ahead), but I came up with a final chapter for it that just keeps buzzing around my head and bothering me, so I'm going to go ahead and put that down on paper (er... or something)

START

The table was set with a fantastic assortment of dishes, much more than two people could eat. The Survival game was over, except for the last two Diary owners.

Shirou was sitting down for a final romantic dinner with the pink haired Yuno Emya, his wife. The two were in the Emya house, and the only light was from a pair of candles on the table.

"Try the wine" Yuno offered.

Shirou took a sip and frowned, "I'm sorry, I'm not used to drinking wine. It's a little sour for me." They had married when Shirou had needed to use a tantric ritual to transfer Yuno's vestigial mage circuits to his own body. Shirou had insisted – he hadn't felt it was right to take part of her soul without offering something in return, no mater what Yuno thought on the topic.

"Oh" Yuno's face fell, "I specially selected it. All the books say that it's the perfect wine for fish".

Fuyuki city was empty of people, so it was no trouble at all for a teenager to pick up a bottle of wine from the store.

Shirou forced himself to smile and took another sip. He didn't want to hurt Yuno's feelings. She was the last person that he valued who was left. Everybody else – Rin. Fuji-nee, Issei, had died either in the stupid survival game or in the aftermath, as the world began to unravel. There were huge gaps in Fuyuki city now, where whole sections had just disappeared. And the rest of the world was going to go tomorrow at midnight.

Shirou sighed. It had taken him a long time to accept that to save the world, he had to let it be destroyed first. It was a never ending cycle of destruction and rebirth, with each new Deus ex Machina creating a new universe. The old Deus had explained it.

It still hurt. Everybody he cared for had to die, in order for the world to be reborn.

"It still bothers you, doesn't it?" Asked Yuno. At Shirou's glum nod, she moved her plate across the table, next to Shirou, and moved over so that she could lean in on her boyfriend... husband. "that's why I love you. You never stop caring about others, and you never give up. You keep fighting for them, even if everybody tells you it won't work."

"And I love you."

"You don't think I'm crazy anymore?" she tilted her head up to get a better look at Shirou's eyes.

Shirou smiled down at the woman who the yin to his yang. "You ARE crazy. But you taught me that sometimes, insanity is the most realistic way to deal with a world that has gone crazy." Shirou leaned down and kissed Yuno on the lips. He had intended it to be gentle kiss, but she leaned into it passionately. They finally broke apart several minutes later.

Yuno snuggled in closer as Shirou sat stiffly, "You aren't planning to take the poison, are you?"

"No. I wish there was some other way." Shirou slurred.

"That's ok. I didn't think you would. That's why I put the cyanide in the wine."

Shirou tried to lift his arm, but found that he couldn't. His vision began to swim as well.

"D..D.." he stuttered as he tried to get a word out his frozen jaw.

"I'm really sorry, Shirou. I didn't want to do this. But we'll be together again - I'll find another reality where you are summoning a Servant for the Holy Grail war, but this time I won't waste any time. I'll be ready, and we can fight the war as husband and wife!" she smiled adoringly up at Shirou's frozen face.

'D...D... die." he pronounced, using his last command seal.

Yuno's head exploded all over him.

Shirou felt his body return to normal as power came flooding into him. More power than he had ever had before. More power than ANY magus had ever had before.

He was God.

But there were still rules He had to follow. He had forced the old Deus to tell him. For one thing, He couldn't bring the dead back.

All He could do was create a new world, to replace the old that was disintegrating. But the old god hadn't told Him HOW to create a new world. He had just said 'Play around with it. You'll figure it out'.

Shirou closed his eyes and reached out as He would to sense prana. But now He could sense all of the world. Possibly the universe, but He couldn't process that much yet.

His eyes flew open – He hadn't realized - there were millions, maybe hundreds of millions of people still alive, hiding out in the corners of this broken world. He couldn't let them die while He played around trying to figure out His new powers. He had to..

And that was when the sun went out.

It was all falling apart, and the disintegration was accelerating. It would be all gone within hours. The world...

"Unlimited Blade Works"

He realized that he didn't need to save this world – He had His OWN world that he could replace it with.

His aria used to be a whole stanza long, but now, all He needed was two word.

"Va'yahi or"

And Unlimited Blade Works unfolded around him, swallowing all of the world. Except now, His origin and element were no long 'sword'. They were 'Gaia' and 'Alaya', respectively.

The Unlimited Blade Works that spread out from Shirou was not a broken red plain, with swords jutting from the ground. It was a lush world. It overlapped the old earth, and filled in the disintegrated gaps.

And the sun flickered back to life.

Best of all, there was no reason that this world should ever end, not while he lived.

Shirou walked out of the Emya residence and down the street. Fuyuki city was still a disaster – most streets were broken up by areas that had ceased to exist, but now the gaps were filled in with forest.

Shirou had finally accomplished his life goal - saving everybody. But the only flaw with His new re-Creation was that the people He loved were all gone. Especially Yuno. She was self centered, violent and insane, but she loved him, and refused to let him act as if he was worthless. And lets face it, He wasn't completely sane either, at least by human standards.

Shirou walked to the park, to where the Fuyuki fire had been, more than a decade ago. It was now a stark ravine surrounded by forest. Imposing, yet beautiful. And it no longer felt tainted,

He lifted up into the sky, up past the atmosphere and He watched the Earth turn below Him. It was scarred and broken, but it would heal, and so would the people that had survived the end of the world.

Shirou landed back at the Emya residence.

He could not bring back the dead. What was gone was gone.

But Yuno wasn't completely gone. He still had His memories of her.

He performed Structural Grasping on her remains. He gathered up those two strands - the memories and her physical design and combined them with that sliver of her soul that He had transferred to himself along with her Mage Circuits.

And then He tore a piece of Himself from his His side and and imbued it with all that He knew of Yuno Gasai.

END

"Va'yahi or" = "let there be light"

And yes, the re-creation of Yuna is supposed to evoke Adam & Eve.
