3 bloodlines and 3 Teachers:
A/N: So, this is the 2 year anniversary of this fic. I had hoped to have gotten farther than ch2 but this is hopefully the last major rewrite. I had a very critical and helpful review from a guy named Novrier, and I realize that my plotline was still not good enough. So with his help I remade the second chapter so hopefully its better, please R&R. Hopefully will get more done in the next few weeks.
6 Years Later
It was October 10th, exactly 6 years after the Kyuubi attacked, and the Fourth Hokage died. Nothing was unusual for the blonde-haired, known-to-all-the-adults-but-not-to-himself Jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi no Kitsune. Naruto had lived very isolated life in these early years of his life. Though not physically beaten, he was an outcast amongst even other outcasts. Naturally, like other adaptions of his universe, he was cared for by the 3rd Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, and by the Ichiraku's, both serving as his lights in an endless ocean. Unfortunately, two lights are never enough in the ocean of judgment that Naruto walked through. Though strong in their own right, both were too busy to give Naruto a normal childhood and thus, never saw the full on conflict, the hidden cold war between the civilians of the Leaf Village and its resident Jinchuuriki. Only certain classmates, such as Shino Aburame, and Shikamaru Nara had been able to see the hidden fatigue in the blonde. Naruto's shadow was also a bit more hunched than other children, as if he was always expecting an insult and was crouching down to ready himself. It was only luck, and the power of his seal that kept him from being influenced by the Nine-tailed demon fox. Unfortunately, it seemed that luck ran out today
On this particular day, it seemed that the hatred was almost suffocating, especially towards a 6 year old child. Maybe it was the fact that everyone was reminded today of the natural disaster that was the Kyuubi- not to say that everyone old enough wasn't reminded of it when they saw the hated blonde- no, but rather, in the month of October, hatred towards the Kyuubi- and by supposed proxy- Naruto increased. Even those indifferent to him, or even those who liked him, seemed to emit an aura of mourning, misery, and gloom. The effect was also shown on children. Though they didn't necessarily know what was wrong, they just knew that a) the dumb blond idiot stood out, and b) it was bad to stand out.
Now, in the present day, having had a particularly sleepless night, it was naturally no surprise then that he fell asleep in class. When he came to, he found himself in a guttural sewer, in ankle deep water, with red pipes going along the ceiling in the distance. After walking for about 5 minutes, he came to a golden cage, along with the gate being sealed with a paper tag. Behind it, two huge eyes opened and stared down at the boy with hidden malicious intent.
"Who are you?" Naruto asked, a bit guardedly at the gigantic, and obviously frightneing fox in front of him. The fox chuckled. The boy was much less innocent than some people he had come across he mused, but then again, for obvious reasons. "Come closer child, and I will tell you". As Naruto started to move closer, reluctantly, and by a hidden force, the fox readied his paws, readying them to swipe the boy and finally free himself. However, just as he swiped, 3 figures came into view, faster than the untrained eye could see. 2 of them did a few hand seals before shooting high powered lightning from their mouths.
"Raiton: Gian (False Darkness)!" The electricity made the fox pull back in slight pain. Naruto just looked on in awe, in the grasp of a behemoth of a man, with blond hair, dark skin, a Kumo vest, and electrifying blue eyes.
"You shouldn't go near him child," the figure said, putting Naruto down. Stretching his neck to its fullest to look at the man, Naruto asked the first question that came to his mind, albeit with a bit of hesitancy.
"W-who are you, sir?" the man smiled before kneeling down and ruffling Naruto's hair. Even while kneeling he towered over the malnourished boy. Naruto visibly flinched, before pulling back, not used to such friendly gestures from strangers, especially in a world where smiles might be the masks of assassins. The man frowned slightly at the reaction, but nevertheless continued to answer the question.
"I am Ay, Child, the Sandaime Raikage" Naruto looked on in awe, he knew enough that a Kage was a leader of the village and that rai meant lightning, but he was still puzzled and a bit afraid of what a foreign Kage could be capable of. Though a bit jaded, he still had the imagination of a child, one that frequently ran wild.
"Sir, if you're here, shouldn't you be in the village you rule… and how come you're not like Sandaime Jiji?"
'So Hiruzen is still alive ehh' Ay thought (pun intended). 'Strange, I thought the boy would be older before he got in a life or death situation. Unless…' His eyebrows started to form a frown.
"Ginkaku! Kinkaku! Get over here" he barked. At once by his side, the 2 other nin were revealed to be the legendary gold and silver brothers. The two brothers looked only a tad bit worse for wear, having taken on the Kyuubi no kitsune just moments after being released from stasis. Powerful as they were, after a long rest of over 6 years, everyone gets rusty.
"So this is the gaki we're supposed to help", said the silvered haired Ginkaku. "Hmm… seems like a brat" he said, ignoring the frown forming on said "brat's" face. All he got for his opinion was a bonk on the head by the Sandaime Raikage, along with a look that promised pain and fury if he spoke his mouth again. Kinkaku just stood off to the side, stoic as ever, though if one observed carefully, they would notice the smile twitching at his lips.
"Kinkaku, Ginkaku, it seems that Naruto got in contact with the fox a bit too soon for anyone's taste. It seems we need to start nurturing Naruto in his legacy from this instant!" The two men could only nod as they started to think of ways to trotur-train the boy in front of them.
"Now Naruto, the first thing we have to explain is the creature over there that just tried to attack you. That is the Kyuubi no kitsune, and I will be blunt with you the Yondaime Hokage did seal it in you. However, he did it because he trusted you like a father would, and knew that you had a real destiny ahead of you. That is why he sealed us inside you. From this moment onwards, we will train you to combat a growing threat your father foresaw, in order so that you may be ready when the time comes" Over the course of his speech, his speech became more militaristic, his voice commanding no disobedience, making sure Naruto didn't interrupt. When he finished, he looked down, and was about to continue when he saw the expression of distrust hidden in the young boy's eyes. Having been an outcast for most of his life, he had grown to mistrust anyone at a first meeting. Ay almost flinched at this expression, while Ginkaku did visibly flinch at the expression. It didn't belong on the face of a 6 year old.
"How can I trust you, or any of you? What if you're[AS1] just trying to gain my trust to kill me afterwards?" he said, his voice never rising beyond a normal voice, while his intensity in his eyes increased tenfold. He would have continued had he not been interrupted by Kinkaku speaking for perhaps the first time in the conversation.
"Naruto-kun, understand that, in light of how you have lived these last few years, there isn't much of a reason for you to trust us, especially as we aren't leaf shinobi. However, understand that, first of all this is your mind, where, with training you can learn to always be more powerful than us. If you allow us to help you though, we can make that worry of your unnecessary. You don't have to put all of your trust in us, but give us a chance to help you and you won't regret it".
Though not completely relaxed, the tension around Naruto's shoulder's visibly decreased, as did his expression. "Okay, I can't find any fault in that. I'll give you a chance, but step over it and I won't forgive or forget. Now, how about we start with what you will be able to teach me". As he said this, the Sandaime Raikage took charge, thankful to whatever deity might be listening that the boy gave them a chance.
"Now, to begin, you have several bloodline limits, specific to you that have been lying dormant in your body for a long time. They are the Seal Release, the Fear Pulse, and finally, my very own black lightning. You also have with you, one of the Treasured Tools of the Sage of the Six Paths, and can use it many different ways, but those we will delve into later when you have bigger chakra reserves. We will devote a year of your time on each of your bloodlines, as well as on the other aspects of your shinobi training, specifically, your taijutsu, ninjutsu, and funjutsu. Later on we will also delve into the arts of genjustsu, and kenjutsu, but after your body and mind have been built. Now, are you ready to begin?" He looked down, but rather than a gob-smacked face, his eyes met one thoroughly confused.
'Now that I think about it, the boy most probably didn't know half the things we were talking about'. After a sigh, he bent down on one knee, and spoke again.
"I'm sorry, I think I forgot that you don't know most of those things I mentioned. But, suffice to say, if you want, we can begin your tort- uh, training and teach you exactly what those things mean. Deal?"
Having regained his composure, Naruto nodded quietly, but then suddenly got a shiver up the back of his neck. He didn't know why, but he felt a sense of foreboding. Had he known what he had gotten himself into, he would have left it all behind and ran back to the safety of his own house.
In the distance of the mindscape, in a dark corner, two eyes watched the 4 discuss the plans for the future, a menacing gleam slowly forming on his face.
"Just you wait, Naruto, grow stronger, more powerful, and when the time comes, fall before me, and let me consume you and devour you into a million pieces!"
Naruto, who had been waiting patiently all this time, abruptly had a gob smacked expression at the sudden question. "Wait wha-?"
"I'll take that as a yes" The Sandaime interrupted, taking amusement in how surprised Naruto looked as he and his two bodyguards marched towards the young to-be-ninja. Said to-be ninja, no matter how jaded, was still a 6 year old prone to emotions and naivety, and had unfortunately, no idea what he had gotten himself into.
