silversurf: Thanks for the review, I very much appreciated it. Always a pleasure to read from you. And you're right: The similarities are stunning, if you look into them.

Happy Holidays to everyone out there! (I know: A bit early :) )
CCAA

With a sigh she threw her bag on the mattress.
She knew the suspicion in her voice had been obvious although she had done her very best to cover it up.
Why - of all the cadets currently trained in the academy - had they asked her? Why her?
Cause she was the 'Captain's daughter' as some of her classmates had referred to her in the beginning of the training?
It had been a loud whisper following her through the corridors.
'Reese? Related to Jack Reese? THE Jack Reese? As in Captain Jack Reese? Wasn't he the guy who...'
And so forth.
Few of them dared to voice the rumors in her presence: 'It's easier to get here when daddy's a famous Captain, is it?'
She had gritted her teeth and silenced them the only way possible.

Being better. Working harder.

She had to. She needed to prove that she could do it on her own. To her classmates, her trainer. To her father. To herself.
Maybe she had simply succeeded. Because not much longer than a week ago, she'd stood in front of her instructor, who'd just told her that they wanted her for an undercover op.
And yet she wasn't sure wether to believe it or not.
Maybe that was exactly the point. That she didn't give her trust easily.

Damn it. Whatever the reason was: She was given one hell of a chance.
So she was gonna make the best out of it.
Decided, she pulled her hair up into a ponytail, uncapped the bottle of beer and went for the dossiers she had been given.
Read, memorize, destroy the files.
Those were her orders, that was what she was going to do.
And then: Get on with the job.
