Tezuka's Shock

By FujiLovesMe

"I guess you're not too shabby. I'm Kaede Murase, by the way," the girl said as we sat down on the bench.

"Hn."

She was actually a very good player. She had consistant strokes, mostly topspin though she occasionally added some slice shots, seemed to love the net (even though she played singles), and had fairly accurate placement. I hadn't expected that. If it not for the fact that she would eventually start fawning (I'm thinking she's having a delayed reaction), I might actually ask if she wanted to hit sometime.

"Well, you can start running laps. Most of the team has already started. I'm going to go talk to coach." She stood up quickly and jogged away. I blinked and got up slowly. Turning towards the fence, I saw that most of my old teammates had actually started running.

After about fifteen minutes of running, the coach called us in. Instead of lining up, the group just crowded around the coach like it was a huddle. Weird.

"Alright, it's the beginning of a new season. Though most of you know that I don't believe in a tennis season. You should have been playing over break," the coach began. "I'm Uwate Anzai and I won't accept players that fool around all the time." I could see Kikumaru swallow. "Let's not waste too much time talking. Split up and start hitting. At the end of practice, I will tell you what court you will be on tomorrow."

A/N. It's been a long time since I've updated….sorry for the super short chapter. I'm not sure if I want to continue this story but I just needed to write. Now, I've got to go read 100 pages of Jane Eyre for English. Cya! And please review.
