I toppled out of the fireplace with a loud squeal. Several cries of "Domi!" greeted me. My cousins Albus, Rose and Roxanne (13, like me, all three of them) ran up to me. Roxie had her arm wrapped around her boyfriend, Lorcan Scamander, and Rose was doing similar with her boyfriend, Scorpius. I grinned at them.
"Hi, Lorc, Rox, Al, Rosie, Scorp," I said, my eyes scanning the room. Lorcan smiled serenely at me.
"Wrackspurt got you?" he said sympathetically. "I have Spectrespecs here, if you want them..."
"Don't be silly, Lorcan, she doesn't need Spectrespecs," said a voice behind me. I whipped around and squealed again as I saw my boyfriend, Lysander Scamander, standing behind me.
"Lys!" we hug, and then Al went, "Eeeew, Teddy and Torie are kissing!" He, Rose and Scorpius made simultaneous vomiting noises and ran off to do their Transfiguration homework. Louis slouched over to James and Fred. The three boys bent their heads over something in Fred's hand. I giggled and hid my face in Lysander's chest. Roxanne, being the eloquent being she is, went, "Ahh, let's leave them alone, Lorc..."
James, Fred, and Louis, all wearing identical evil smirks, stood up and shout, "Hey people! Look what we've got!" My 11-nearly-12-year-old cousins Lily and Hugo roll their eyes at each other. Lysander smiled down at me.
"Wonder what their latest plan to get us all killed is now?" he whispered.
"I have no idea," I grinned. Fred yelled even more loudly: "A TIME-TURNER!" Molly and Lucy, my 16-year-old cousins, Percy Weasley's daughters, sighed and Molly piped up with: "What if you drop it?"
"That's a prototype, you know!" Lucy added. "It could send us back to the Jurassic Period or even to the creation of the world!" Louis stuck his tongue out at them. I hated my brother sometimes. James, Fred and Louis started throwing it to each other, laughing. Teddy and Vic jumped up.
"James!" yelled Teddy. "What if you drop it!" The second he said it, the Time-Turner slipped from Fred's hands. Molly and Lucy barely had time to scream before the whole room was shrouded in madly swirling sand. We spun around for what seemed like hours and then landed with a deafening crash. And then blackness. Deep, unending blackness.
