With a bright smile
She came up to me today
Eager for an answer,
"Would you like to play?"

I bit my lip, ready to lie
As nervous as could be
"No, I have to go home,
Mama needs me."

Oh, what have I done?
She'll never ask again
I'll just go home
And cry in my den

They all look so happy
Playing in the junkyard
I could be with them
But my confidence is scarred

I can fix this, I think
But what do I say?
Deep breath, here it goes
"Would you like to play?"

My mistake was healed
As she gave me a chance
She smiled, I returned it
And we started to dance
