So there she was. Walking into the ministry with Madame Pomfrey. She wasn't thinking clearly when she decided to get the tattoo. She sat down in the waiting room. She was the only one there.

A man dressed in black robes walked out of the room. "Lily Evans" he called. Lily stood up and Madame Pomfrey stayed sitting.

We she walked into the room there was a table she was told to sit at.

"Lay out you wrist" the man said. Lily did as she was told. The man placed his wand on her wrist. "This won't hurt at all" he said.

He started muttering something under his breath. It took about five minutes and he was done. He wrapped Lily's wrist in a bandage. "Don't take it off for another hour or two. When you take it off and there is a name there that person is your soulmate. If it is blank, it means your soulmate has yet to get their tattoo." He said.

"And if I don't ever get a tattoo there?" Lily asked.

"Everyone has a soulmate dear. In all my time in this job - seventy years to be exact - I have never given anyone a tattoo that would never show anything. If your soulmate never gets their tattoo you'll still know, you'll feel it" he spoke like he had already said this a hundred times today.

"Thank you" Lily said and left the room.
