"They're in Liberty City?" Gary asked, looking up from the piece of paper Collin had brought him.

"Mom told me Peter works for some law firm and that Paralee goes to daycare during the day."

"Is that really all you have?" Gary snapped, voice filled with irritation. "I want details! The kind of car Peter drives, the name of the law firm where he works, the name of the daycare. Their address!" Gary growled, standing from his desk to pace his office.

Collin rolled his eyes and pulled a thick manila envelope from his briefcase. "Of course that's not all I have, hot head." He raised his arm above the desk and let the envelope fall to the desk with a thick plop.

Gary picked up the envelope, practically shredding it to get to the contents. He was flipping through the papers and a flash of color made him stop, his breath catching in his throat. There was a picture, professionally done, of a little girl with black hair and hazel eyes, Gary recognized his eyes on her face, except mirth filled hers; it was as if joyous laughter could at any moment bubble forth. Overwhelmed, he swallowed thickly, tamping down his emotions.

"I called him last night, Mom gave me his number. He couldn't really talk, he was moving out of his apartment, so his address won't be the same as the address Mom gave me. I'll try and get more information over the next few weeks." Collin said, clearing his throat.

Gary sat in silence, staring down at the picture of his little girl, his brows knitted together and the corners of his mouth turned down ever so slightly, his eyes filled with a look of regret.

When Gary turned his gaze back to his brother, Collin saw how Gary's eyes betrayed his emotions and was taken aback. Gary seemed… lost, but also astounded. As if this was more than he had ever hoped for. More startling still were Gary's next words, spoken in a small voice, rough with emotion.

"Thank you, Collin."

Petey was following Zoe around the offices of the television station, becoming familiar with those who would be working closely on the show Zoe was going to star in.

They were standing in the writer's offices, just chatting together, when a tall, handsome blond man walked up to them, smiling. "Zoe!" He exclaimed, British accent quickly recognizable.

Zoe smiled back, "Seth, how are you?"

"I'm fine but this place is hell on Earth." Seth replied, his brown eyes landing on Peter with a spark of curiosity.

Zoe's gaze followed his and her face lit up. "Seth this is my friend, Pete Kowalski. Peter, this is Seth Hastings."

Petey took a step towards Seth, holding out his hand. "Hello, it's nice to meet you." Peter hoped his smile was warm and not making him look like a huge doofus.

"Likewise. So, what brings you here?" Seth asked, looking between the two.

"Pete is my new assistant. So, you'll be seeing a lot of him." Seth's smile was directed at Peter as Zoe spoke. The attention made Petey swallow thickly as he tried not to convey how flustered he was becoming.

Gary was sitting at his desk in his office, reading the paper, with his feet propped up on his desk, when his phone rang. He groaned, sitting properly and setting his paper aside as he picked up the phone. "Hello, Bellic Enterprises, Garrett speaking. How can I help you?" He asked in a mock cheerful voice. Officially, Gary worked in the corporate office of Bellic Enterprises, a taxi service company that often made donations to charities and the right people, off the record.

"Hello, this is Tiffany. I'm the mayor's secretary and I have a check here from Bellic Enterprises but I don't know what it's for. I was hoping you could help me?"

Gary narrowed his eyes at his computer screen as he held the phone to his ear with his shoulder and opened the company computer files, searching for the latest information from Nico about the mayor and his staff. "Yes, just one moment. What is the date on the check?"

"January 15th, this year." The woman responded.

Gary hummed in response, pulling up what he needed. "Sorry, what was your name?"

"Tiffany Stevens." Gary rolled his eyes, because this wasn't the mayor's secretary. The real secretary was a man, Tommy, who was the Mayor's nephew. Gary had met the man a few times and knew without a doubt that whatever this was, it had nothing to do with Tommy and it most certainly wasn't good.

"Okay, Tiffany. The check goes to the fire department, via the mayor for anonymity reasons. Mr. Bellic doesn't believe in making a show of giving to others. Feels if he did it would cheapen the gesture, make it appear as if he only did it for publicity, you understand."

"Oh. It does?" Gary's jaw clenched as he picked up the crestfallen tone of the woman's voice. "Well that's very nice of Mr. Bellic." Now she sounded disgusted.

Gary smiled sweetly, determined to get to the bottom of this immediately. "Is that all you needed Ms. Stevens?"

Gary's smile widened when all he got by way of response was the phone clicking as the line was hung up from the other end.

"Peter, make a note that I have a nine o'clock meeting with the writers tomorrow morning, would you?" Zoe asked, her arms held out to her sides as she was being measured by the studio's wardrobe department.

"Right away." Petey responded, opening the scheduling app on his new smart phone that Zoe's agent had provided. Peter was overwhelmingly gracious for the opportunity Zoe had given him, and was astounded at the perks of the job. A new phone, almost triple what he had made at the law firm, and he would get to travel with Zoe whenever she had something that required her presence elsewhere. In fact, she was already scheduled for two fashion shows in the next three months. One in London, the other in Paris. Peter had already filled out paperwork for a passport, something he had never done before.

"And will you go get me a water from the break room? It's down the hall, take the first left, it's on the right. The room with the vending machines."

"Down the hall, first left, on the right. Got it. I'll be right back." Peter stood, Zoe's clutch purse in hand as he exited the wardrobe department to find the staff room.

Peter's heart skipped a beat when he rounded the corner into the staff room and saw Seth leaning against the counter, a pair of black square framed glasses perched on his nose, as he read from a stack of papers. Peter paused, keeping a neutral expression, before moving towards the vending machines.

The handsome blond looked up, watching Peter move across the room. Peter glanced at him and spared him a smile, playing cool as much as he could. "Well, fancy seeing you here."

"Yeah." Peter drawled, an awkward tone creeping into his voice. "Zoe wanted a water."

Seth hummed in understanding, stepping away from the counter and turning around to pour freshly brewed coffee into a waiting mug with the Union Jack decorating its exterior. "There's coffee here, if you'd like some." Seth offered.

Peter considered the offer. "I really should go back to Zoe, Seth. Thank you, though."

Seth shrugged, noncommittedly. "Suit yourself. See you around?" Seth asked, his mug pausing on the way to his mouth as he regarded Petey with hopeful eyes.

Peter had Zoe's water in hand, pausing before he left the room. He smiled warmly at Seth, "Oh, definitely.

Gary walked towards Nico Bellic's office, Collin's debt file tucked under his arm. He was going to pay off his brother's debt, which was only going to put a little dent into his saving. He sighed, going over everything he had on his plate at the moment. There was the trafficking ring, some nosey broad who was no doubt trying to uncover Bellic Enterprise's seedier side, and sorting out the situation with Peter and his daughter. He took a moment to loosen his shoulders as the secretary went to tell Nico that Gary was here to see him.

He was allowed in instantly.

"Garrett! What can I do for you?" Mr. Bellic asked in his thick Eastern European accent.

"Well, I've got a full payment for you from a Mr. Collin Smith. He was happy to cooperate, and easily persuaded."

Nico leaned back in his chair, his dark eyes gleaming as he assessed Gary. "A full payment? He has given us trouble for two years now. I… am astounded."

"Well, sending an exterminator instead of a debt collector can tend to invigorate a more giving personality. Though, I will say, I don't think I really like debt collecting. Too… clean." Gary said, giving Mr. Bellic a wild-eyed grin.

"Well!" Mr. Bellic exclaimed, shifting forward in his chair to rest his arms on his desk, his fingers interlocked. "Color me impressed. You can drop the money off with Brucie, he knows how to handle it.

Gary kept his face neutral but he wanted to groan. He hated Brucie Kibbutz, the man was annoying at the best of times, but if that's what he had to do to get Nico's loan sharks off his brother's back, so be it. "Alright, I'll go see Kibbutz. But there is one more thing. I got a call today. It was a woman named Tiffany Stevens, who claimed to be the Mayor's secretary."

Nico's expression turned to one of vague amusement as he leaned back slightly in his chair. "Interesting."

Peter had picked Paralee up from daycare, listening as she jabbered away about her day, when his car began stuttering violently. Peter inhaled sharply, pushing his hazard button as he pulled off to the side of the road.

"Daddy?" Paralee's concerned little voice came from the back seat. "What's that?"

Peter looked back at her, smiling reassuringly as he turned the car off and his heart sank into the pit of his stomach. "It's just the car having trouble in its parts. I'm going to get out and see, okay? I'll roll the windows down for you."

Peter got out of his car and popped the hood, informing Paralee that he wanted her to stay in the car.

"Why?" She chirped.

Peter pointed to the traffic whizzing by them. "Because there are a lot of cars that are going very fast."

"What if I'm careful?"

"No." Peter said sternly, frowning at her. "Stay in the car. I mean it."

She huffed and pouted, her little eyes narrowing as she crossed her arms. Looking so much like Gary, that Petey had to look away from her. He took a deep breath and went to see if he could figure out what might have happened to his car.

After checking out what he could, Peter closed his hood and got back into his car, completely at a loss.

"Did you fix it?" Paralee asked, leaning over to better see Peter.

"No, I'll have to have someone else do it." Just what he needed, another expense.

There was silence for a moment, before Paralee began crying. "How are we gonna get home?"

Peter looked back at his daughter, unaware a car had pulled up behind them, and gently took her hand. "Hey, it's okay, Roly-Poly. I'll just have Uncle Jimmy come get us. Don't cry, everything's going to be fine."

This only seemed to make her cry harder. Bewildered, Peter let go of her hand and was about to turn and open his door so he could go to the back seat to better comfort her when there was a light knock on his window that made him jump. He whipped around and looked up to see Seth. He sat mouth agape for a moment.

Seth arched an eyebrow, looking concerned yet amused. "Is everything alright?"

"Car trouble. I-"

"Daddy, who's it?" Paralee asked, tears still rolling down her little face.

Seth moved to the back window and peered in. "Hello! My name's Seth. What's yours?" He asked, smiling wide.

Paralee wiped her face, sniffing and looking a bit shy. "Not 'sposed to talk to strangers." She said, tearfully looking up at the blond man.

Seth didn't seem put off by this. "You're absolutely right." He agreed, nodding solemnly.

Peter got out of his car. "I'll be right back, darling. Okay?"

Paralee nodded, wiping at her face some more.

Gary had just walked into Brucie Kibbutz's office with minimal concern. The meat head didn't notice him come in as he was staring out his office window, chatting obnoxiously with someone on his mobile phone.

"Brucie." Gary used a stern, loud tone.

The man turned, his eyebrows raised in surprise at the daring soul who just showed up unannounced in his office. "Oh! Garrett!" He smirked. "Hey, let me call you back." He laughed. "Yeah, later bro." Gary rolled his eyes and sighed in disdain.

Brucie hung up his phone and slipped it into his pocket as he sat at his desk. "What is up, player?"

Gary had to fight the urge to double over as the man's words caused him physical pain. He tossed the folder of money on Kibbutz's desk. "Collin Smith's gambling debt. Paid in full. Nico said you'd handle it."

Brucie picked up the folder and opened it, raising a brow at the money. "Sweet score, dude. I'm sure the boss is happy."

Gary narrowed his eyes. "He seemed to be."

The other man looked up at him, curious. "You a debt collector now?"

Gary shook his head. "Wanted to give it a try." Gary lied. "Too clean."

Brucie smirked. "Brutal."

Gary shrugged and left.

Peter and Paralee were in Seth's car, being driven home. Peter kept glancing at the other man, wide eyed and appreciative.

Seth glanced at him, catching his eye. He chuckled, sending Peter's heart beating faster. "You don't have to keep thanking me. I'm happy to help."

"I know. I guess… I'm not use to people being so kind to me." Peter explained.

Seth's face filled with sympathy as he spared the younger man a brief look. "Well, people are shit heads." He frowned, then seemed to remember the young child in the back of his car. "Oh, da-rn, sorry. Poop heads." He corrected.

Paralee giggled. "It's okay! Daddy says bad words too! Sometimes."

Peter huffs, amused. "I just… want to pay you back for this, somehow."

Seth hummed for a moment. "How about a date?" He suggested, his lips twitching briefly.

Peter's face went red as he began stammering. "I… Okay." Peter snapped his mouth shut. What had he just said?

Seth laughed, "Really?" His face seemed to be going a bit red too, Peter noted.

"I think it would be lovely to go on a date with you, just throwing it out there."

"I'm going to hold you to that." Seth answered, grinning.

Gary was leaving the Bellic Enterprises building and was heading to his car when his phone buzzed in his pocket. Gary checked his device and saw he had a text from Collin.

'I have more information. Call me when you get a chance.'

Gary put the phone away and drove to his apartment, cursing his way through rush hour traffic. When he got home, he changed into his comfy sweats and an old tee shirt, sprawling on his couch as he called his brother.

"Great. I was hoping you'd call soon."

"I paid your debt off today. You better have something good." Gary grumped.

"Peter has a new job, working as a personal assistant to a model named Zoe Taylor. Apparently, he's also living with her. They're friends, according to Mom."

"Do you have an address?" Gary asked.

"I've got an address for the agency Zoe works for. Apparently they'll have a meeting there on Friday. So, tomorrow, I guess. With some television writers."

"Give it to me." Gary demanded, sitting up as he fetched a pen and his notepad from his coffee table. He jotted down the address. "Is that all?"

"Paralee's daycare. I've found that out too." Collin gave him the daycare's address. "She's there Monday through Friday. Usually gets picked up around six in the afternoon. It's not a cheap daycare, either. He pays something like $400 dollars a week."

"A week?!" Gary was flabbergasted. How could daycare cost so much?

"Yeah, fuck that, am I right? I guess sometimes his parents and our parents pitch in when he has trouble paying for it."

Gary sighed. "I see." He's silent for a moment, his brow furrowed. "Is there anything else? Do you know why Peter had to move out of his apartment?"

"When I called last night, he did tell me that his apartment building had been sold without warning." Collin answered, "He sounded pretty upset, which is understandable."

"That's highly illegal, how did that happen?"

"I guess the building was in a pretty shitty neighborhood. The landlord is a man named Kibbutz and nobody can afford to sue him. Even if they could, they're all a little afraid to. He's shady. Hey, maybe you know him." Collin quipped, sounding amused.

Gary sighed, staring at the ceiling, eyes narrowed. "Maybe I do." He hated he was going to have to see Kibbutz again tomorrow. "Anything else?"

"That's all I've got." Collin responded, hesitant.

Gary hummed, "I can use this."

"You aren't gonna… kidnap her, right?" Collin asked, unsure.

"No." Gary assured, rolling his eyes. "I don't exactly lead a safe existence at the moment." He sighed, rubbing his forehead. "I just want to see them."

"I'll help you as much as I can." Collin said, a tender note in his voice.

Gary stiffened. "I know you will. I just dropped five hundred thousand dollars so you didn't get a bullet put in that stupid, dumb head of yours. You're fucking right you'll help as much as you can. Idiot."

Collin actually laughed. "Don't get mad. It's okay to want to see your daughter."

Gary huffed. "Shut up." He spat, before hanging up and flopping back onto his couch, glaring at his ceiling.

The next morning, a Friday, Peter went with Zoe to the talent agency who employed her. They had a meeting with the writers of her television show.

"I think I'd like to go shopping tomorrow. Do you want to come with me?" Zoe asked, as they stood in the elevator.

"I wouldn't have anyone to watch Paralee." Peter hesitated in his response.

"Bring her. We'll make a day of it." Zoe replied, fiddling with her phone. "Also, I'm going to need you to take a picture with me. Look excited!" She got close to Peter, holding her phone out in front of them. Peter tried his best, but probably ended up looking overwhelmed.

"Cute." Zoe said. "Gonna post it on Bleeter. Kind of throw out some hype." She paused, turning to Petey. "Do you have a Bleeter? I can tag you."

"I don't." Peter responded, brows knitting together.

"Make one while we wait." Zoe prompted.

"Is it a job requirement?" Peter asked, going to his phone's application browser.

"It is now." Zoe responded, smirking.

XxXxX

Gary stretched languidly at his desk, looking down at the file on his desk. An average, boring man. Someone wanted him dead and it was Gary's job to get it done. He mentally juggled his schedule. If he could get this done by three in the afternoon he would have plenty of time to get ready for his evening plans. His phone pinged on his desk. He picked it up.

'Your order has been delivered! Thank you for your business!'

"Super." Gary spoke into his empty office, setting his phone down as he leaned back in his chair. He would have to go see Kibbutz before he headed out to do the job. Gary sighed. Best to get that out of the way then.

XxXxX

Peter and Zoe were walking through the office, to a private conference room. He had downloaded Bleeter and was waiting for a free moment to create his account. Zoe was leading the way, greeting everyone cheerfully. They opened the door to the empty room, which held only a long table and chairs. On the table was a beautiful arrangement of flowers in a gold ceramic vase that was shaped in a geometrically interesting way. The flowers were roses in varying colors.

"Oh! How pretty. That's so sweet of the writer's to get me flowers." Zoe spoke as she went over to the arrangement. Peter was settling into a chair, beginning to set up his Bleeter as Zoe pulled the card from the flowers. "Oh."

Peter looked up at her surprised tone. "What?"

She gave him a sly smile. "These are for you."

"What!?" Peter asked, standing hastily and taking the card as he went to stand beside his friend.

Peter,

Meet me at Alazone's tonight, 7 PM.

Reservations under 'S'

-XOXO

Peter read and reread the card, his mouth opening and closing, utterly gob smacked. "I- What?" He laughed, nervous. "This can't be real, right? I mean… I didn't think Seth would-"

"What? Seth?" Zoe exclaimed, smiling as she gently pushed him. "Why didn't you say anything?!"

Peter quickly explained the exchange he and Seth had when the blond man had given him a ride home. "I didn't think he'd act so soon!" Peter murmured, face a bright red. "I… you wouldn't mind babysitting, would you?" Pete looked up at his friend, eyes wide.

Zoe shook her head. "Of course not! I'm so excited for you!" Peter laughed again as Zoe took his hands and gave them a reassuring squeeze. "Alazone's is a great choice. I'm sure you'll have a great time." She sighed wistfully. "I wish Jimmy could be this romantic!"

XxXxX

Gary knocked on Kibbutz's open office door, trying to act like there was a little respect, in case he wasn't the asshole who had sold Peter's apartment building. Brucie looked up, confused for a moment.

"Garrett. What's up?"

Gary waltzed in, calmly going over to a bookcase in the room, "I'm curious about something." He perused the books and knickknacks.

"Yeah? What's that?"

"Do you own an apartment building?" Gary asked, picking up a small, round glass paperweight. There was a long, drawn out silence as Gary put the glass up to observe sunlight from the window making the swirls of glitter inside sparkle.

"I do…?" Brucie finally replied, his brow knitted in concern. "How did you-"

"Did you evict the tenants with no warning earlier this week?" Gary cut him off.

Another long pause. "Who've you been talking to? Is someone putting a hit on me?!" Brucie asked, standing from his desk in a fit of anger.

Gary chuckled, putting the paper weight back. He smiled at Brucie as he made to leave. "Not to my knowledge. But would you really be that surprised if they did?" Gary's grin widened briefly as he shut the door, leaving Kibbutz standing behind his desk, confusion plastered on his face.

XxXxX

The meeting had gone well, Zoe was very pleased with the way things were going and was eager for script readings to begin, but she would have to wait until after they had gotten back from her second fashion show in Paris.

Zoe was on her phone as the writer's shuffled out of the conference room to get back to work when she turned to Peter.

"I'm about to post that cute picture, what's your Bleeter tag?"

Peter told her, waiting patiently to find out what the next task of the day would be. Zoe smiled, and looked up from her phone. "Okay, so. This was actually the only thing we had to do today. You want to go pick up Paralee and get some frozen yogurt or something?"

"Yeah, that sounds like fun."

"Then we can figure out what you'll wear to Alazone's tonight for your hot date." She said, sly smile creeping onto her face as Peter shuffled and felt his face heat up. Zoe giggled, waving for Peter to follow her as she began to leave the room.

"I mean, yeah. We should do that. Because I've never been on a date"

Zoe stopped in her tracks and turned to give Petey an incredulous look. "Oh, my god. Really?"

Pete became flustered. "I had a kid to take care of. It wasn't really a top priority to go out and meet people."

"Fair." Zoe said, giving Petey a small apologetic smile. "Let's go get Roly-Poly then."

XxXxX

Gary glanced over his closet, freshly showered after his afternoon assignment. It had been quick and slightly messier than he would have liked, but it had been a success, which was really the only thing that mattered.

Gary stood looking over his options for a little longer, eventually settling on an onyx colored Perseus suit. Slim fit, two button. He chose to pair it with a purple, small scale herringbone plaid button down shirt and his black leather wingtips. It would work. He sighed, spraying his cologne on his still damp skin before going to work on styling his hair.

XxXxX

Both Petey and Zoe were going through Peter's clothes. "I don't know what I'm looking for. How should I dress to go to Alazone's?" Peter asked.

Zoe hummed. "It's a bit high end but they won't, like, kick you out for not wearing a suit jacket or anything. You should just wear a cute button up shirt with some slacks."

Peter pulled out a navy blue, short sleeve button down shirt polka-dotted with tiny white triangles. "This?" He asked, turning to Zoe and holding the shirt up against himself.

"Yeah, that's cute." Zoe said, looking the shirt over.

Both of the adults turned as Paralee zoomed into the room and scrambled onto the bed. The roses on the bedside table caught her eye. "Oooooh, pretty."

Petey huffed, amused. "What are you doing, goofy?" He set the shirt onto the bed with a pair of black slacks.

He watched her crawl across the bed to stick her face into the flowers to give them an exaggerated sniff. Pete laughed and sat on the bed with her. "Would you like a few flowers, Roly-Poly?"

She stared up at him with big eyes. "I can have some?"

Peter nodded, brushing her hair away from her face. "Of course. Let's go find something to put them in."

XxXxX

Gary finished buttoning his suit jacket, glancing at his watch. He was ready right on time. He'd never admit it, but he was a little nervous about how this was going to go. He wasn't even sure Petey would show up, seeing as his message had been so mysterious. Gary regretted giving into his dramatic nature when writing the card. He sighed and leaned his head from side to side to pop his neck as he regarded his face in the mirror.

"Don't fuck this up." He murmured.

XxXxX

Peter rushed down the stairs, his shoes in hand as he glanced at his phone quickly. His SCHLEP was outside and he glanced into the dining room where Paralee and Zoe were sitting, chatting and digging into a pizza that Jimmy had picked up on his way home from work.

Peter quickly pulled his shoes onto his sock feet, quickly walking to his daughter and kissing her on the top of her head. "I've got to go, sweetie, my ride is outside. I love you."

Paralee looked up at him with her big eyes, pizza sauce on her face. "I love you, too, Daddy. When are you coming home soon?"

Pete laughed. "In a few hours, probably." He answered, double checking he had his wallet and his phone. "I've really got to go. Be good for Zoe and Jimmy."

He gave her one more kiss goodbye, thanked Zoe again and left for his date.

XxXxX

The lights of Gary's garage flickered on as he flipped the switch. He regarded his cars for a moment. They were all black, sleek and clean. His every day, low profile car was a Lampadati Felon. He was trying to be a little more impressive tonight. He grabbed the keys to the Vapid Bullet, regarding the Bravado Gauntlet as too good for going to Alazone's.

Certain in his choices, Gary got into the Bullet. The engine purred as he sped off into the night.

XxXxX

Peter arrived with little time to spare and he could acknowledge he was a bundle of nerves, it was because he was eager and excited. He thanked his SCHLEP driver as he paid, before turning to look at the restaurant. He took a deep breath and walked inside.

The lady standing at the greeting podium smiled at him. "Hello, welcome to Alazone's. Will you be dining alone tonight?"

"No, I've got a date and I've been told the reservations are under the letter 'S'" Peter explained.

"Oh!" She exclaimed. "Okay, your date is already here. Please follow me." She smiled, leading the way through the restaurant to a set of double doors on the side of the dining area. Peter was slightly impressed when the doors were opened by two men standing on either side of the door.

"I'll be right with the two of you. Please make yourself comfortable." The waitress smiled at him.

"Thank you." Peter said, before taking one last deep breath and walking through the doors. The room a sun room, with beautiful exposed red brick on the wall he had just passed through. The rest of the walls were a stunning Turkish blue and were spaced evenly with narrow arching diamond paned windows. Peter got distracted, and turned slowly to take in the room. Pushed against the walls, were round tables draped with white table cloths. The lights above were dimmed and on each table were a set of three jars that were decoratively stemmed and only big enough to hold one tea light each. The glow of the candles provided enough illumination that when his eyes finally landed on the table set for two in the middle of the room, he stopped in his tracks.

XxXxX

Gary almost couldn't think of what to say as he stood up, watching as Peter's mesmerized expression turned to confusion and then quickly to anger. "Gary."

"Petey." Gary swallowed. "I wasn't sure if you'd actually show."

"You. You-" He inhaled through his teeth, scowling. "You asshole. What the hell?"

Gary kept his face neutral, secretly pleased at the negative reaction. Anger was better than indifference. "Sit down, will you? Let's talk." He motioned to the chair across the table from him.

"No." Peter said, shaking his head incredulously, as he turned to leave.

"I wouldn't try to leave, if I were you." Gary said, speaking loudly.

Peter whirled around, eyes narrowed, opening his mouth to offer a retort.

"I have associates outside who will stop you." Petey's shoulders tensed as he threw a quick glance at the door. "Don't cause a scene." Gary moved around the table to pull out Petey's seat, keeping his eyes on the other man. "Sit down. Let's have dinner."

-End Chapter Two-

I doubt this is worth the wait, seeing as it took a few years? It's been a rough time. I promise I'm going to continue working on this. I know what plot points I want to hit, it's just a matter of getting them to flow well and wrap up well with where I want to take this story. You'll see the next chapter relatively soon, hopefully in two weeks to a month. Thanks for sticking with me? I'll try to do better.
