Chapter 2
Later that night
Roy's POV
I couldn't help but stare at my boyfriend. I wasn't even listening to the words he was saying. We were at our apartment. I scratched Black Hayate's head. We were sitting in bed. The clock by my side of the bed read three in the morning. The dog yelped as Kimblee's voice grew louder. I winced out of my little trance.
"Are you even listening to me?" my boyfriend yelled at me.
"Of cour-," I started but the words stopped short.
I knew that he would tell that it was a lie.
Kimblee's POV
I threw the covers off my legs and stood up. I knew that the other alchemist would tell me another lie. He always did, so I walked over to the closet that we shared. I threw a pair of jeans and a t-shirt out of the closet and at him.
"Kimblee. I can explain," I heard him say as he stumbled out of the bed.
"I don't wanna hear it," I said turning to him. "Just get out of hear."
Roy's POV
My onyx eyes blinked. Was he really kicking me out? I saw the serious tone on his face. I sighed and grabbed the clothes he threw at me. I draped them over my arm before heading out of the room and the apartment. Once outside of the building I sat down on the curb of the sidewalk.
I eventually got up. I decided to go to the next best place I could sleep at for the night. Hughe's house. Of course my friend's wife invited me very quickly. I sat on their couch.
"So what happened between you and Kimblee?" Hughes asked while Gracia was busy tucking Elicia into bed.
"Just a harmless fight."
"By harmless you mean the apartment building wasn't blown up."
"Not yet anyway," I said, looking at Maes who remained standing.
"If it's getting that bad, you two shouldn't stay together," he said finally sitting by my side. "I worry about you more than him."
"Roy," Gracia called from the toddler's room. "Elicia wants you to sleep in her room."
I picked my head up to look at the woman. I nodded and stood up. I walked over to the small girl's room. The blond child was sitting in her bed, peering at me. She clapped before lying down and falling asleep.
It was going to be a long road to recovery, but I knew I could make it.
