"Hey, Double D…"

"Hmm?" Edd looked up from his book, marking his spot with a finger. He sat on a pillow on Kevin's floor leaning comfortably on the redhead's shoulder. The afternoon had been a lazy one, full of reading for Edd and video games for Kevin, the silence only broken by Kevin's swears or the occasionally contented sigh, so it took a moment for Edd to switch his attention from his book to his boyfriend. "What is it, Kevin?"

"I was just thinking…we've been dating for, what, eight months now?" The way he worded it implied that he hadn't been counting every second of it. Of course they'd been dating for eight months. "And I think I can say that I know you pretty well by now, right?"

"Of course, darling." It sounded as if Kevin were getting at something, so with a silent sigh Edd set his book to the side and twisted on the pillow to wrap his arms around the redhead's neck. "Why do you ask?"

Kevin set his distraction to the side as well, hooking one hand securely around Edd's hip and reaching the other into his back pocket to curl around lace. "I was just wondering when you were gonna tell me what this was all about," he said with a impish grin, holding out the pair of black panties he'd taken from a box under Edd's bed over a year earlier.

Edd flushed from his nose to the tips of his ears and made a lunge for the offending item, a lunge that Kevin anticipated and avoided with ease.

"Kevin Barr, you hand that over right this instant!"

"Nuh-uh." Kevin shook his head. "Come on, babe, you can tell me. I won't judge!"

They fought for a few minutes over the scrap of fabric, but in the end Kevin won out. Pinning Edd to the floor with one hand, he dangled the panties over his boyfriend's face and pouted.

"Please?"

"Absolutely not!"

"Pretty please?"

"No!"

"Pretty please with a cherry on top?"

"No! And your pout is not affecting me, thank you very much!"

"Dude, come on! What's the big deal? You should've known I'd find out eventually."

"I…it…you…" Edd huffed in defeat. "Fine. Let me up, please."

Kevin sat back and watched as Edd righted himself, tucking his knees up against his chest. The brunet buried his face in his hands and let out a great sigh.

"I…oh, this is so embarrassing…I…model them."

Silence fell between them and it was a long moment before Edd chanced a glance at Kevin. What he saw did not please him; Kevin looked on the verge of laughter, face red and biting on the knuckles of his left hand.

"You model them," the redhead repeated.

"Yes!" Edd snapped. "I model them! For…for websites, mostly. They send them, I put them on and snap a few photographs, and they pay me for it. I'm saving for college, alright?"

Kevin lifted his hands defensively. "Alright, alright, don't get your panties in a wad." Several minutes later when he'd recovered from his laughing fit and Edd stopped hitting him, he rolled over onto his stomach and propped his chin up on his hands, the very picture of thoughtfulness. "You know, I was just thinking…"

"Oh, that sounds safe."

"Shh. I was just thinking that maybe you could do with a photographer. A real one, not a camera with a timer on a tripod."

"Oh, and I suppose you're going to volunteer."

"Well, the thought had crossed my mind."

"I'm sure. The answer is no."

Kevin groaned, rolling onto his back. "Come on, babe. I just want to help push your career in the right direction."

"Lies of the worst sort. You just want to see me in them."

"Guilty as charged. Please? Don't make me pout. I'll do it, you know I will."

Edd rolled his eyes. "Fine. Tomorrow at ten, and don't be late." He stood and made for the door.

"Wait, where are you going?" Kevin asked, brow furrowed.

"Home for a cup of tea. You know I can't stomach that cheap blend your mother seems to be so fond of."

"You're forgetting something."

Kevin flicked the panties at Edd like a slingshot, laughing at look of disdain he received in response. The sight of a pink Edd shoving the lace into his pocket was worth any passive-aggressive punishment he'd suffer later.

"See you tomorrow morning!" he called, and Edd waved a hand in response.

Tomorrow morning came and went without a single sign of Kevin. It figures, Edd thought to himself, dusting around a few of the smaller knickknacks lining the mantel. Today, when he has a legitimate reason to be awake at a reasonable time, he sleeps in. It wasn't any skin off his back, he decided, and he went about his chores as usual.
