She scolded herself for thinking that way and looked away.
"Um, no please. Sit down." Mare replied timidly.
The stranger smirked and sat down. Mare thought to herself. Cocky.
"Why hello, I'm Ash Redfern and you are?" He smiled charmingly and brought forward his hand.
"Mary Lynette Carter." She said curtly. She took his hand and jolted when she felt the sparks and pulled away abruptly. Do I know you?
Ash glanced at her confused and dropped his hand rubbing it on his jeans.
Mare looked everywhere but him and asked timidly. "So why are you going to Night Town?"
"The carnival, isn't that why everyone is on this train?" Ash said jokingly.
Mare nodded. "True."
As the noon hour approached, they still had not spoken a word to eachother but you could feel the chemistry in the air. Mare picked at the end of her jacket and sighed.
Ash looked up at her and raised his eyebrows. "Do you realize we're sitting three inches away from one another and we don't even know eachother yet?"
Mare glanced at him. "Why didn't you just ask then? Well, you know my name and I'm eighteen. I lived in New York and I'm studying Astronomy at Harvard."
Ash nodded. "Cool. Ash Redfern. I live in Philidelphia and I'm doing my residency at New Jersey General and my dad owns the chain of hotels called the Green." He said proudly
Mare rolled her eyes and said sarcastically. "That's nice to know, Mr. Redfern."
Ash looked at Mare with a raised eyebrow. "Please call me Ash, Ms. Mary Lynette Carter. Mr. Redfern is my father."
Mare smirked. "Touche, all right then. I learned my lesson."
The intercom rang out. "We will be arriving in Night Town in a few hours."
Little did they know that with their arrival to Night Town, things would change drastically.
